Let's see what the international break brings. Postecoglou is going to have to widen his player pool. I think some of the players on the outs can help.

Some of the players on the outs are going to be too tough to break away from Conte ball to play Ange's style.  Unfortunately, we don't have a choice.  I don't know how many times today Hojbjerg failed to press the attack with his passing, but it seemed he was constantly passing backwards.  We don't have a metronome in the midfield for Ange's style of play without Maddison.  And fucking Bissouma has gone off the rails. This felt like a PTSD flashback to earlier in 2023 when Antonio was ready to punch out.

The only hope is that Lo Celso can turn a corner.  I thought Dier was fine, and Davies was fine.  Should get Udogie back  after the break which will be a big help.

Watching Wolves play was like watching Spurs from just a few weeks ago.

Am i the only one that thought the double hands to the face on Son should have been a foul?

No, and Dawson's shithousery went largely unpunished all afternoon.

I forgot who it was that also got a forearm to the face in the first half while on the ground. Porro or Johnson, can't remember.

That's not why we lost though. We lost because we turtled after the first goal and Wolves stayed on the front foot.

Gonna be a long break for 2 weeks.

Good read put up today by Grace:

Quote

This summer, Tottenham Hotspur sold their best player in the history of the football club and hired a new manager to radically change the style of play. This team finished eighth last season with Harry Kane. It's truly Year Zero at the stadium that should be called White Hart Lane.

At least it was supposed to be. Spurs and new boss Ange Postecoglou came flying out of the gate, winning eight of their first ten matches and encouraging everyone to say “mate” a lot. It was as though Kane never even happened. It was as though the last four years never happened. Then the last two matches brought them down to earth a bit. More significantly, they now have some real injury concerns that could derail the good work done so far. This feels as good a time as any to take stock on where Tottenham actually are.

I recommend reading it, but the TL;DR is that she gives Postecoglou a lot of credit for putting them in this position. She notes that the team will have to weather an injury storm, but as a whole, they are set up well for a good run.
