The Joe Thomas (Browns) really got dusty in my house, and I’m not a Wisconsin or Browns fan.

Congrats to him and his family and years of support staff.

Hook’em!!!

Fucking Chris Berman has been a pox on broadcasting for too much of my life. I hate that annoying motherfucker.

Glad to see Zack Thomas finally make it. What a beast on the field. Texas hero in my book. And his bust actually looked like him vs the usual Alfred E Newman job they get.

Chuck Howley and Demarcus Ware as well
Make it a good day.

2026 finalists announced:

  • Willie Anderson, OT (1996-2008)

  • Drew Brees, QB (2001-2020)

  • Jahri Evans, G (2006-2017)

  • Larry Fitzgerald, WR (2004-2020)

  • Frank Gore, RB (2005-2020)

  • Torry Holt, WR (1999-2009)

  • Luke Kuechley, LB (2012-2019)

  • Eli Manning, QB (2004-2019)

  • Terrell Suggs, LB/DE (2003-2019)

  • Adam Vinatieri, K (1996-2019)

  • Reggie Wayne, WR (2001-2014)

  • Kevin Williams, DT (2003-2015)

  • Jason Witten, TE (2003-2019)

  • Darren Woodson, S (1992-2003)

  • Marshal Yanda, OL (2007-2019)

Woodson has a shot. Brees and Kuechly are no brainers and probably Williams. The question is if they can hold off some of the newer guys who will get in eventually like Gore, Fitz, Witten...

IIRC, only five get in? If so, I think I'd go with:

Brees, Fitzgerald, Kuechly, Witten, and Yanda

Yeah looks like that's the five that get in. Lots of really strong candidates this year who will eventually get in. Vinatieri should be in but the voters have to get over the fact that he's a kicker.

I know many disagree but I think Eli eventually gets in (not saying I agree or disagree but he has a case.)

As a Pitt guy I will admit to being biased to our guys.

Fitzgerald is a no-brainer. More tackles than drops during his NFL career is just crazy.

I think LeSean McCoy needed about 500-700 more yards rushing to get in. O.J. Simpson (4.7ypc) is just in front of McCoy, 22nd in rushing yards, 134-yards more than McCoy. McCoy has 11,102 rushing yards (4.5ypc) but, also added 3,898 receiving yards, almost 2.000 total yards more than Simpson. McCoy has more TDs, 89:75, than Simpson.

It seems though, but for a few exceptions, that 12,000 rushing yards is the cutoff.

A friend of mine whom I think deserves to be in is Ruben Brown. He played in 181 games and started 181 games, nine-time Pro Bowl, 4-time 2nd team All Pro. Nine seasons with the Bills and four with the Bears

Larry Fitzgerald

Drew Brees

Terrell Suggs

after that, it gets dicey and you can make arguments for some over others. Luke Kuechley is probably in, because really the only knock is the length of his career, but it isn't the Hall of Longevity.

I feel like the NFL always has the best slate of candidates when it comes to HOF selection time

He was an all-pro every year he played and first team all pro 5 of his 8 seasons.

He's a lock whether he gets in this year or not.

Suggs was my first one out. It was a struggle between him and Kuechley. If Suggs went in and Kuechley had to wait due to the short career, I'd be fine.
