An interesting wrinkle in this NBA Cup thing is that the championship is an extra game that doesn't count towards regular season. If OKC wins it, and continues on their incredible trajectory of single digit losses through the year, there may be some discussion about this extra win and its significance in getting them to 73 wins if they do get that close to it.

Plus does it factor into their current win streak?  They are at 16, and will probably continue into the 20s. Might also be flirting with that record in mid January if Wemby doesn't come back soon. The Spurs will play them in the Cup and twice around Christmas.

with herro back it’s kel’el ware who’s moved to the bench, meaning the heat are going small with their starting five (norman powell at the 4). their only loss since herro’s return was a three point loss to the (best team in the east?) pistons. it will be interesting to see how this smalller lineup works for them going forward.

smaller lineup, more spacing, no alpha, everyone eats.
