  • Youth: We're starting a new OL
  • Poor development: Anybody who has been an OL for two or three years here should be competent. Same at QB.
  • Poor talent evaluation: Might apply to OL; seems to apply to QB...

...I'm not near ready to close the book on Sark.

I'm not either, but I am if he's not willing to make major changes. Sark is in year 5 with a hefty team payroll, hand picked QB and OL coaches and his offense is dreadful. Everyone can see it, but Sark. If he's going to be willfully ignorant, he's simply not the guy. Might as well start the countdown.

Sark has known for years we'd be replacing most of our line this season and we have the ability and resources, to acquire experienced, good linemen from the portal. Sark and Flood chose to roll with this group of elephants on roller skates.

What really sucks about it is, there will never be a better time to sell the TX program to portal OL. 4/5 out of OL drafted. Can sell playing time and immediate NFL prospects.

Sark and Flood made it much worse though. They chose to give Neto first team reps at LG until right before the season started, then swapped in Connor Stroh at the last minute, who immediately, and repeatedly, showed he's not remotely capable of playing at this level right now. Then they left that poor bastard out there as a human turnstile, giving the defense a free run at our M.A.S.H unit RB room and our inexperienced franchise QB.

Then, despite everyone knowing Stroh was going to be a huge disaster at Florida, they let it happen, before throwing Brooks out at a position he doesn't even play, risking the confidence of a good tackle prospect.

Is it scheme, talent, development, roster management/players too young? Doesn't matter, all of those are Sark's responsibility and should not be an issue in year 5.

If/when Sark gets fired, we're going to look back on his OL roster management this year as a season long version of Charlie deciding to kick off both halves.

Helton's wife is from Houston, so there are ties other than USC.  Her sister is an Aggie.

Mullen is in play for a Head Coaching job once all the dust settles on UF, ARK and PSU.  He'll land where one of the current coaches gets gobbled up.  Maybe Auburn if they let Freeze go.  Mullen is an excellent coach who got screwed by the Gators.
