  1. F. the SEC. I'm still peeved we are going, good business decision or not.
  2. I liked it. Funny and disturbing. Ha ha, the concert scene was like every goddamn super bowl show for the last 20 years. Except for Prince which was fine. Only downside was Jennifer's hair and makeup. I love her so much, but not that look she was throwing down.
  3. I think that is fair. But one would think that the events of Jan. 6 might have moved the bar just a tad.
  4. Let's put someone in there who will get the job done! Get the varmints who have scurried from the drain'ed swamp.
  5. Yep. In the DVD I got (from Netflix), there is a great bonus short film called Richard Price's Bronx or something like that. It's just Richard Price driving around the Bronx and talking about the film and the settings and the people of the Bronx he knew. As you can imagine, he's the kind of guy who would want to hang out with for a while, and it's a really fun bonus. Certainly want to try to read a few of his novels now.
  6. Stillness is the Key by Ryan Holiday I thought this was really pretty terrific (audio). Drives right down the middle of the road. Arguably just a primer on some Stoic and Buddhist ideas, it really reads like a collection of essays just to help you get your shit together. Great gift for a workaholic or anyone who is obsessed about something that is not good for them.
  7. Well. Fuck you for even adding this qualifier. It's madness to do so. Madness.
  8. Well hell, if Giant is a Western (I don't think it is) then Hud is a Western (I don't think it is.) And if that is the case, Patricia Neal is the first time I thought "an older woman" was throwing down a damn fine vibe.
  9. Every cast member in The Searchers was great, but what made that movie for me, in addition to the original group of Indian hunters led by Ward Bond, was every scene with Vera Miles. She was a loyal goofball and how the fuck could that stupid half breed take her for granted.
  10. You wanna talk some jibe! I'll talk some jibe like you've never heard!
  11. I celebrate freedom. It's the stupidity that is offensive.
  12. Thank you for explaining the 210 thing. When I grew up there yeah, it was 512. I would have just put this guys image on one side of the helmet.

  14. Yes. The Mexican attorneys I worked with suggested either moving to mexico or finding a mexican girlfriend who spoke no english.
  15. Any of your folks who have learned Spanish as adults have any tips? I figure it needs to be a multipronged attack. 1)Some sort of daily app (Duolingo?) 2) Reading and translating spanish 3) TV watching spanish shows 4) Conversational group 5) A bunch of trips to Mexico. Any recommended classes/tutors/groups in the Dallas area?
  16. Oh, and the wife is weak because she is a white woman, and if you want a particularly white woman, Kirsten Dunst is your gal. I am not a misogynist.
  17. It was not a big deal to me but people got really riled up about News of the World obviously not being in Texas. I kind of was bothered, in a small way, by the fact that this clearly wasn't Montana. Not a big deal and it may have even added to the ambiance but still. I just noticed that the actor who portrayed the son was also in kid in love in the great also not-filmed-in-the-USA Slow West. Now THAT was a fucking great little western. I realize Power of the Dog isn't really a western.
  18. Sad Sack is really selling the Republican Brain Trust short, stressing as he is the mere reaction to Dem Wokeness. Own your intellectual heroes, Sack.
