I would avoid going for “max” dividends as those can be risky and they may distribute at the same levels their share price is dropping. SCHD and SPYD are 2 good conservative funds of dividend paying companies. SCHD pays out a little less but they have higher dividend growth over time. SPYD is a decent 4.5% annual yield and low risk. And while their share price could drop with overall market drop, if you mainly care about their dividends, their ongoing share price doesn’t matter. You will keep receiving about the same dividend with a 2-3% annual growth. (I don’t mean 4.5% becomes 7%. 4.5% becomes 4.6% in year 2.) -
