  1. Todd has rerecorded his albums solo and has been giving them away with various merch packages. You can find the first few on Spotify and some songs on youtube. But relistening to "Songs From the Daily Planet" really brings back memories and shows what a fantastic songwriter he is. He was living in Atlanta at the time and would show up at radio stations and play his stuff so I was lucky enough to be an early adopter.
  2. Man.....Rebel Rouser brings back memories. Virtually ever high school band in the 60s and 709s played that song.
  3. To quote a fine American, "If I ever get out of this trap, I'm not falling back in"
  4. Out of a normal vacuum cleaner? Not a problem. Out of this high dollar Natzi machine? I ain't touching it. You get near it with a screw driver, springs and filters start popping out at 13 different angles. Same principal as working on cars. 67 Chevy pickup? No problem. 2024 automobile? No fucking way.
  5. Having a new dishwasher installed. Wife tells them she wants to vacuum the space before they put the new one in. (Never mind we are paying THEM to install this and they have their own garage vacuum sitting in the kitchen). After they leave, she tells me...."something is stuck in the vacuum cleaner...it isn't working". Me: Do you already put the garage vacuum back in the garage or basement? Her: No. I used the upright. Me: You used that Miele vacuum cleaner to suck up nails, wood chunks, wire pieces? Her: Yes. What's wrong with that. So....looks like it's back to the shop for the Natzi vacuum cleaner. I imagine that repair bill will be about the same as the dishwasher was. On the plus side, it's just down the street from the Taqueria so I plan to spend an afternoon with the bartender there. See if I can drink them out of Tecates again.
  6. I figure Celine Dion will get in next year, if she in already.
  7. Test drove this Epi 'mandobird' again last night. At a local Music Go Round so going to wait and see if they drop the price. Cool sound, especially when run through a chorus, other modulations, but not sure I want to pay the $550 they are currently asking. Fun to play though and just a cool looking instrument. I'm trying to get the tone of Buddy Miller's 'mandocaster' at the 2:20 mark of this song. I have an Ovation mandolin with piezo pickups but it just sounds like a mic'ed up mandolin.
  8. I really wish this project with her and Oberst had kept up the steam I thought it would. This is such a great song.
  9. Dammit. She is KIND OF in the Whitney Rose....... I LOVE me some Whitney Rose.
  10. My probably with the One Spot daisy chain is it picks up way too much electrical interference in my basement. At our practice space and most other places, it did fine.
  11. The Cloudburst is fun to play. I have a Hall of Fame reverb for basic stuff, but wanted some of the more spacey sounds and it fits the bill. When I added it, I switched to a CIOKS DC10 and it seems to play nice with everyone. And it's only $200.

    Bob Seger

Still the same is such a great song. (Shaun Murphy, BGV.....I truly am obsessed with background vocalists.....stalker level)
  13. I can't quit listening this from her newest album. Not a huge fan of anything else on the album, but I LOVE this one. She is king of the Whitney Rose, Nikki Lane arena to me, which is a good thing. And I just found this. (and one of my favorite posts on this board's predecessor.
