  1. That's not bad, I was thinking about something more like this though: Ebros Great White Shark Trophy Wall Decor Sculptural Hanging Plaque 12"Tall Taxidermy Art Decor Sculpture Ocean Apex Predator Shark Wall Bust Plaque
  2. A couple months back I was having a conversation with my daughter, and Philip(Tiny Trouble) butted in trying to get my attention: Philip: "Dad. Dad. Dad. Dad. Dad Dad Dad Dad. Dad. Dad. Dad. Dad. Dad Dad Dad Dad." Me: "Just hold on, buddy, Libby is talking to me." Philip: "Dad! Dad! Dad! Dad! Dad! Dad! Dad! Dad! Dad! Dad! Dad! Dad! Dad! Dad! Dad! Dad!" Me: "Just wait, dude, it's not your turn." Philip: "DAD! DAD! DAD! DAD! DAD! DAD! DAD! DAD! DAD! DAD! DAD! DAD! DAD! DAD!" Me: "Okay, what?! What is so important?" Philip: "We should get a shark's head and mount it on the wall!" I know what he's getting for Christmas now.
  3. SNL this weekend should have OJ Simpson on to read Norm MacDonald jokes as a tribute. If they can't get him, then Frank Stallone. It's what Norm would have wanted.
  4. Just watched that clip of Norm on Dennis Miller, it was great. Is this the first long running joke Norm did on Conan?
  5. Yeah, I think I posted his commentary about it in the post after that one. I've seen multiple people mention it, but the more people tried to tell Norm not to do something, the more he would go the opposite direction. The reactions were funny, especially Barbara Walters. "I thought you were supposed to be funny!" He was, Barbara. He was.
  6. Color me shocked that Norm humor went over the head of a NYT writer lol.
  7. According to the podcast that Conan just did, it was just that joke that Norm adapted on the fly during his show. It was a one time deal, but to this day Andy says that fans still come up to him and call him "The Swedish German." FWIW, Andy said on the podcast he doesn't get mad about it (At least not now). To a comedian it's the ultimate sign of respect to have another comedian use you in a joke, so maybe he was angry at one time...who knows. He did say that he cringed a bit knowing that he's yuckin' it up with Conan and Norm over a gay joke and he'd feel guilty anytime he'd see gay family or gay employees on the show, but from a personal standpoint he was fine with it.
  8. I forgot all about that. Norm: "I'm Scottish. What are you?" Andy: "I'm Swedish German." Norm: "Really?" Andy: "Yeah, why would I lie about that? It's not funny." Norm's head starts turning and proceeds to make it funny.
  9. I think Andy always comes off that way. Makes him a good foil for Conan.
  10. Was watching Norm stuff the last few days and came across this clip from a podcast he did in 2016. Was talking about cancer and basically described how he planned to go out without anyone knowing it at the time. Reading the comments I found this story. No idea if it's true or not, but pretty cool if it is:
  11. I'm not big on podcasts, but this one was good. Gave some backstory to the Moth joke, just another great example of Norm thinking on his feet. It explains the Bob Saget roast, which was classic. There's quite a few anecdotes in the beginning, then they get down to the crux of his character towards the middle, then finish with some great anecdotes again. I'm surprised that among all the possible celebrities they could have, Conan admits that Norm is the most requested. For a guy that sometimes flew under the radar and didn't play by the rules that's pretty cool.
  12. I saw that too. Kaufman had some great stuff, but I think Norm was pretty humble in saying he was a low rent copy. He had impeccable timing and a unique delivery. He was quick on his feet too, as you can see with the Courtney Thorne Smith interview and the View. I saw him do stand up at our local college back in '97. He spent the first 15-20 minutes ripping our backwater college town, but he did it in such a way that it was funny. Some people didn't like it, town pride I guess, but it was absolutely the truth which was what made it funny. The guy was fearless and never pandered.
  13. I can't edit the last comment, but Norm showed up in a Tom Green interview and basically described what happened. He doesn't really give a shit about politics, they kind of ambushed him with the picture and he rolled with it as only Norm could.
  14. Norm was definitely one of the troublemakers. One of the SNL alums said he's one of the last few comics that just didn't give a fuck. Haven't seen anyone post the View appearance yet: The reactions were great, Barbara didn't get it, he was just relentless. The Cosby thing is actually funnier in retrospect now.
  15. She just posted something on Twitter, going to break into the real estate game. That resume is going to look like the definition of ADHD with all her career moves. At least she has the LFL to fall back on.
  16. I remember meeting Bruce at a book signing back around 2000. At the time he either said at the signing or in the book that he was more interested in what makes him money today than what made him money yesterday. I'm paraphrasing, but that's classic Bruce for ya. He was probably referencing Evil Dead at the time, because I had him sign one or two of the movies and a Playstation game cause I was a poor college shmuck and didn't have the book yet. Funny that he ended up revisiting it later as a TV show and more video games, ended up bringing him more money after all. Dude is a legend, love everything from Jack of All Trades to Xenia, Man With the Screaming Brain, and the Evil Dead Trilogy. He just makes gold.
  17. Believe it or not, it's the same kid. I couldn't believe it myself. Kid lost a lot of weight between whenever Season 1 was originally shot and now.
  18. Betting money would say we're leading up to a conclusion next season. I'm not sure where they go if they resolve the Kreese conflict, and a lot of the "high school" cast is already into their early 20s. Adding Terry Silver and stringing him out past Kreese's demise is probably the only option to go beyond a Season 4. Then again, I think in a recent interview the writers have said they're planning and have written the plot out through Season 5 at least, so who the fuck knows. I think the nostalgia gets a bit stale past that. Either way I've enjoyed the ride so far, the show has been good.
  19. I think she had fake boobs prior to her inclusion in Season 2. When I first saw her I thought, "Whoh, this supposed teenager is stacked!" She's really 22 though, so I tell myself it's not dirty. Season 2:
  20. They're showing Kreese's backstory so they can turn him good guy in season 5...but not before he hits rock bottom in season 4. Gotta know where you've been before you can heal and move forward. But no, seriously, the flashbacks were a little excessive. It does make me question what the purpose was.
  21. So sorry to hear this. Prayers for you, no parent should have to say goodbye to their child.
  22. This was a good point. A lot of people have mentioned his loss to Charlie Strong too. The 2016 season and that OT loss to the Longhorns woke Kelly up. Prior to that he was prone to a lot of cronyism with the assistants he brought in from previous jobs. Brian VanGorder was the DC that year and got shit canned pretty early when it was obvious the defense couldn't stop anybody. BK shook up the staff and got more involved in all aspects of the program, which led to hires like Mike Elko and then Clark Lea. Right now the Irish program is in a better place than it was prior to that dismal 2016 season, they just lack some real playmakers at WR and probably corner. Word is you can't get your foot in the door of admissions with a 2.9 GPA, that's the biggest thing holding that team back. The 3 WR they fielded in the playoff were a glorified blocking TE, a guy that converted from QB this year, and a Northwestern transfer. If Kelly had gone, or in the future goes, to Texas that wouldn't be as big of a problem. Texas has never had a problem bringing in outstanding athletes. At least that won't be a problem for Sark, I think he'll do well.
  23. That's a pretty good run down of how it initially went. I heavily, heavily played the game at launch and for about 8 months. I didn't encounter all the bugs they listed, and I encountered other stuff like broken events/quests, but yeah...there was a lot of repetition and lack of content once you finished the rather short main questline. There was pretty much just nukes to launch/farm, and I guess decorate your C.A.M.P. while trying to achieve the impossible task of not overloading your Stash Box. By all accounts the game is better now, but I honestly gave up and haven't been back. It felt like there wasn't a good effort to correct the problems in those 8 months and in ways Bethesda really was shooting themselves in the foot and further pissing off a lot of players along the way. Some of the nerfs in that period were blatant moves to force people into the Atomic Store. As an example, I was running a full melee build character where I took quite a few points I normally would spend in combat/damage and instead sunk a lot into crafting armor and repairs. The repairs in particular helped our group of friends playing because it helped reduce the cost of rare materials it took to repair some items. These perks got heavily nerfed about the time the repair kits were introduced into the game...pretty shitty move, especially when you consider some players had given up combat related perk points or built their characters to specially use those perks. Anyway, the bugs, the lack of NPCs, discounting the game a week after release, a lot of it was just another slap in the face for some longtime Fallout fans. Again, as I understand it the game is in a much better place now, but I just don't have the time or energy to get back into it. I've been rather disappointed with Bethesda's foray into Fallout to date. They seem to be getting away from RPG elements that were always part of the original titles, like the Karma system and giving you choices in how you completed quests. Even the dialogue in 76 and Fallout 4 may resemble multiple choices, but often the answers all lead to the same result, much like the "But thou must!" trope. Here's hoping that Bethesda being under the same umbrella as Obsidian leads to something more like New Vegas. That's the best Fallout title to come out since Bethesda took over the IP, and it was Obsidian that actually put that one together.
  24. Damn, didn't realize how many kids Rivers has. Guy is angling for his own show on TLC once football is over.
