  1. It’s a possibility. Not realistic, but certainly possible. I think it’s far more likely that LSU has some big plays due to blown assignments than straight up dominating our defense like they did GSO due to their new and improved scheme. LSU will not be a well oiled spread machine in game 2. That’s an unrealistic, purple koolaid-fueled pipe dream.
  2. I’m not sure I’ve seen this level of player fueled bulletin board material since 2005.
  3. Their starting O-line had a ton of experience. The youngest guy on that line was a 4 year starter. No doubt there was a talent gap in that game, but for our DL to put on that kind of pressure against a OL that had seen a lot of time, including Clemson's studly DL last year, I feel much better about us getting pressure with fewer blitzes ---------------------------------------------- I want to add onto this very good point. There is a fallacy going around that LSU could easily throw on Georgia Southern as they lack a secondary to stop it, while other secondaries (Texas being the most vocal) will not be void of talent (just experience). This is simply false in every way. Burrow craved up a very good pass defense of Georgia Southern. Did you know that in 2018 Georgia Southern was #54 in pass defense nationally? That’s better than Texas at #112. But Texas plays in the wide-open pass happy Big12, so the comparison is not fair.... Georgia Southern also ranked ahead of Auburn and Texas A&M. But Texas is DBU... talent is so deep. Did you see Jalen Green this week! It doesn’t matter who goes up against our CB because they practice against the best WRs in college football every day. They are all 6’6” and run like deers. No team will have better WRs. These are all things Texas fans AND analysts have said or written in the past 3 weeks. It confusing because... Georgia Southern CBs Kindle Vildor - 2018 2nd Team All American (PFF) - 2018 Sun Belt POTY (PFF) - 2018 AP 1st Team All-Sun Belt - 2019 Coaches Preseason Defensive POTY - 2019 Coaches Preseason 1st Team All-Sun Belt Monquavian Brinson - 2018 1st Team All-Sun Belt (PFF) - AP 2nd Team All-Sun Belt x 2 years - 2019 Coaches Preseason 1st Team All-Sun Belt Georgia Southern has 2 Senior CBs that played in huge games (Clemson last year for example), and yet Burrow craved them up like a Thanksgiving turkey. Perhaps we are under appreciating the work that LSU did on offense this week? ^Stolen from LSU247 Etienne also averaged 10 yards a carry against them. Did LSU do that?
  4. The pass was good, but 74 got his ass kicked by a scrub. Burrow won’t have the luxury of a scrub not getting to him Saturday.
  5. Oline play usually doesn’t impact games, right? I’m sure that’s where the extraordinary confidence from the other LSU posters is coming from. Meanwhile, according to PFF, the Texas oline had one of the best rated performances in the nation. We’ll see how they do against a vastly superior opponent, but that’s a good sign for an offense. There’s no question mark here - the oline in 2019 is a strength for Texas. Strength vs strength makes for fun games.
  6. In all honesty, I think this game is a pretty dangerous for a young, but talented Texas defense. Stopping LSU’s quick passing attack will require assignment discipline and clean tackling. Make a mistake and LSU has the athletes to make you pay. I don’t think LSU has anything close to a schematic advantage like we’ll see against OU, but they can certainly make us pay for the sloppy play that inexperience can cause. That’s generally true in Big 12 play so I’m not too worried the coaches won’t be ready for it. The key for LSU will be oline play. If they can’t win up front in the run game, it will enable us to be more aggressive defensively and mask the mistakes resulting from inexperience. I fully expect to see a few breakdowns, but I don’t see consistent drives without a solid run game. If LSU can’t control the LOS, they will not win the game.
  7. *grammar
  8. Nobody likes a cuck. Even aggy
  9. It’s damn nice that football season is back. Pretty chippy this week.
  10. I think you missed my point. I’m calling you and your brethren idiots. I could not care less about message board format. I avoid other boards because you’re a fucking moran.
  11. I feel like repping every @Kyrie Eleison post just because he’s more articulate than the mouth breathers. I obviously don’t agree with his takes, but at least he’s not a dumbass.
  12. Bullshit meter has a strong read on this one. Not really possible to post a 700+ on the GMAT if you bomb the verbal section. But hey, it’s the internet, so I banged your mom last night.
  13. I’m starting to remember why I switched exclusively to surly 10 years ago.
  14. Fair enough. You’d have to teach them how to turn on the shower first and that’s just not worth the effort.
  15. Probably. I make your mom shower before she gargles my balls.
  16. And scored.
  17. Yep. There are plenty of 20 year olds out there that are still “kids”, but Sam isn’t one of them. He can wipe his own ass.
  18. That’s a lot of words. I wouldn’t touch the 6.9 wins and don’t think anyone but aggy thinks it’s a remotely accurate prediction. That’s absurd and shows a significant flaw in his model (as you explained). Bill is getting quite defensive about the issue. It’s going to be fun reminding him of his posturing throughout the season.
  19. Probably because tx state returned most of its defense. Obviously a great gauge of expected performance. Clemson lost a lot to the NFL on defense, so I fully expect Mond and co to tear them up next week.
  20. https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/27461638/college-football-conference-previews-storylines-using-sp+ Yes, Texas is 31st. FPI has the Longhorns just 26th, too. Tom Herman's propensity for overachieving in big games but underachieving in the smaller ones leaves his teams ripe for upsets and forever drags them down from a numbers perspective. Texas fans have spent the offseason yelling things like "Yeah, we only beat Tulsa by a touchdown, but we physically dominated them! We were never threatened!" That's great. Clemson and Alabama would have beaten Tulsa by 48 without turning to the second page of the playbook. To look like title contenders, Texas has to treat every game like a Big Game, not just two or three.
  21. You couldn’t for last year’s Texas team.
  22. That’s a penis. An aggy penis
  23. Just sign up for att tv now free 1 week trial if you’re poor / cheap like me.
  24. Damn. If that’s what fatball looks like, I don’t like our chances.
  25. Not a bad way to celebrate your 50th birthday
