I just sent this email to Cornin through his website (i.e., it will go straight into a trash bin):

I doubt it will make any difference, but I will be sending the same note to Cruz as well.

As a Texas resident and voter I urge you to force a vote on the previously senate approved by acclamation resolution to reopen the federal  government that was approved by the HR last week (or a similar bill if they are not identical).    Hundreds of thousands of Americans are being harmed by the current shutdown, and important services are not being performed.  There is no need for these services to go undone and workers to lose pay in order to address the President's demand for border wall funding.

I doubt it will make any difference, but I will be sending the same note to Cruz as well.

I'm liking the Brut thing, but I get the impression more people like the haze.

The reason haze has caught on is because people who don't like bitter, dry flavors (which are a fuck ton of people) don't experience it with the hazebro IPAs.  I'm becoming drawn back to hoppy beers that taste like fucking beer (I still like hazy IPAs - just burned out on the trend), and the Bruts are more that way, IMO.

The hazy IPA's that I've enjoyed the most are much more balanced and less of a juice bomb.  Frankly, the ones I had up in New England last summer were more along this line than the most of the Texas versions I've tried recently (with Celestial's Kepler being a notable positive exception).

Dude.  That is very nice.  You went all out.  R panel roof and masonry flatwork?  Seriously.  Nice job.

Thanks.  Not sure if you're referring to the flagstone for the masonry flatwork.  I just bought some flagstone at Lowes and set it down over the hardware cloth to protect from intruders.  I got the roof from a local roofing company for like $60.   It was from a piece they weren't going to be able to use.  The floor of the run is just construction sand.  There is a masonry foundation; just 6 CBS blocks buried under the corners and center of the longer span.  The vertical supports are secured with big lag bolts.  Did not use any concrete though.

That is really nice, especially for just three birds. Do some chicken math and get some more!

Thanks.  Based on everything I read I think 4 or more might be pushing things.  The actual coop area (enclosed) is only 4x4.  Since that picture was taken we put up a temporary fence at the back line of our house running to the fence along our property line (to the left of the coop in the picture), which gives the chickens a ton of room to hang out during the day.  Plus they can go up the steps to the terrace area near behind the coop towards the front of the house, so they basically have the entire side yard to the left of the house.

The sod I laid didn't last long so I've since put down mulch and more flagstones to walk on in that area.

  6. Dammit....
    I’m a fucking asshole.
To be fair, I really wasn’t on my game at any point today except for the crucial 10 minute client presentation.

You might consider sending a nice letter on your letterhead to the manager for her office to commend her on her diligence. Just a thought. That sort of thing could help her out too.

  7. Tangent about our govt workers who aren’t gonna get a paycheck this week:

Traveled today through ABIA. TSA was fully staffed and...I did something I’ve never done before - I got distracted and left my laptop at the checkpoint. I realized when I was already on my flight. Called my office and had my secretary call TSA and track it down. They had it by mid afternoon, and said I could come get it between 8 am and 8 pm. Problem: my return flight didn’t land till 8:15.

I landed and decided to run by the TSA office at 8:20 just to give it a shot. As I walk up, a woman on her phone outside asked “may I help you?” Yes, is the lost and found open? “You here for a laptop? Your secretary called.” She stayed late to wait for me to come get my laptop (that is, to fix MY screwup). And she won’t be getting a paycheck. Had to give props to one of the lazy govt leeches the GOP has such good feelings for.

Did you at least slip her a Jackson for her troubles?
  8. You are correct. Catch and release doesn’t work. Gaming the asylum laws (leading to a 5000% increase in claims) doesn’t work.

Never see a group of individuals so scared to hear a man speak. Guess this is what the Cal Berkeley campus is like 24/7.

Litteraly frightened to hear someone speak. Lmao

Frightened to hear him speak? Where do you get that?

The concern isn’t about hearing him speak. It is if he attempts once again to destruct our system of government through a false claim of national emergency to circumvent Congressional budgetary and appropriation authority.

There are a lot of big words and lots of syllables up there, so let me know if you need me to break it down for you.

  9. We have 3 hens in our small coop in East Dallas (Lakewood).  One Ameracauna, one Black Copper Marans, and one (supposedly) Wheaten Marans.  Originally had a red one that turned out to be a rooster, so we traded him for the Wheaten.  I think it must be a different breed, though, because her eggs are much lighter shade than the BCM (more like a Rhode Island Red egg).  Will try to post some pics of the coop.

  10. Don’t answer the first question, skew every other question to the opposite of what they are baiting the rubes to answer, put gofuckyourself@yahoo.com with no other contact information and hit submit. Yes, it works. Do you really think his website wouldn’t be just as incompetent as him?

    Trumpcolluded@yahoo.com says hi.

I can't decide whether to be offended by this or to laugh uncontrollably at the irony of his use of e pluribus unum.
