  1. This seems like a deal. I believe the charter card price for a Lear 40 was $ 108k for 25 hours. That’s the everything included price, but it’s also decade old numbers.
  2. Faster than a what? I have about 4000 hours in the 40/45/75. Chicago to San Diego is right on the edge of comfortable flying range. And you might have to stretch it by slowing to M .76. That’s assuming a 50kt average headwind. It’s a one stop trip in the winter heading west. About $2500/hr to operate. 4 hours of cruise is about 5200lbs of burn, or 780 gallons.
  3. DL won the day. A couple of stingers to Mitchell and Woodard, and TO tweaked his knee.
  4. That’s the sliver reserved for replays and score updates. Everything else is ad space on the new Gongatron.
  5. I don’t mind him Epps-ing so long as he plays like his size matters.
  6. Seems pretty racist.
  7. “I’ve got my game on...”
  8. Are those flattened antennas on the left or a triple A emplacement? Either seems likely.
  9. Shipping container full of tannerite and one Beirutian redneck with a gun imoho.
  10. Regardless, his mustache will continue its film/acting career under the screen name of Sam Elliot.
  11. Not really. That 115 number assumes that you build out the lower deck as seating. That could have been done as lockerooms, scoreboard, terraces etc while maintaining the approximate bowl shape and continuity of suites and upper deck above. This was a get something done now project.
  12. Please tell me that they’ll be able to turn the new LED stadium lights off and let that longhorn cutout pulse burnt orange as part of the pre game build up.
  13. Now This
  14. Space Force and Rods from the Gods. EMP us and we’ll drop kinetic weapons with nuclear like explosive force on key political, military and infrastructure targets while still retaining our nuclear triad. Taking out Party headquarters and other sites, the nuclear missile silos and maybe Three Gorges dam ( if it doesn’t fail on its own) would fairly immasculate them in addition to their creating their own economic collapse.
  15. The terracing idea is sound. I suggested something similar be located in the SEZ instead of extra seating. But the location as designed is going to create some terrible sight lines for folks in the last 10-20 yards of seating on the South end of each grandstand.
  16. I still think the terracing looks like ass, but the rest is growing on me.
  17. Maybe we should look into temporary speakers between each patron. That way social distancing becomes less of an issue, and everyone can go deaf while the new Adzillatron overruns the band and game enroute to achieving awareness.
  18. Ran the wildlings past the USS Alabama on the way back from vacation. I haven’t been there years, and wondered how bad the damage was from Katrina. You can definitely see the dings and updated paint on numerous planes, and the air museum in Pensacola lent them numerous birds to round out their collection. Most notably a YF-17 sitting next to an F/A-18, and an F-14 Bombcat sitting outside. The highlight is still seeing an A-12 inside and the requisite J58 sitting next to it. They’ve added content and various aircraft, but you can see the park took a beating. The deck of the Alabama is in bad repair, and seeing an F-16, 15 and 14 beside a Seahawk on display makes me feel old.
  19. Probably new to aviation or oblivious and thought it was a turbine commander.
  20. Wish we could stumble our way into a bunch of consecutive conference championships and Heisman trophies.
  21. Approximately 1/4 took some form of leave or early out.
  22. The high retirement numbers may mean low actual furloughs if a bunch of short timers decide to go ahead and opt out early. AA was looking to shed 1000 a year anyway via retirement, and I think half the Delta seniority list was set to age out in the next five years. I agree, I think everyone will over-WARN and then adjust based on actual demand versus early outs and extended time off. Some good news in therapeutics and a possible vaccine release in October would make a world of difference as well.
  23. Travel is picking back up, and I think ATC is running a lot of skeleton crews. For example, tower and ground are generally combined at DFW, and ground is handling all ramp calls at LAX. O’Hare is still O’Haring, but they run an interesting system where they put you in a conga line and don’t expect to hear from or call you unless your gate isn’t open. It’s kinda wild.
  24. Well, I’ve never flown a 175, but the bus adds water back in after the water separator to add a little humidity to the air. Maybe the very likely full cold temp setting froze some of that add in post ACM. The packs supply air for the lowest temperature zone demand, which is as cold as possible right now, and then trim valves add in hot air to make each zone conditioned Thinking about it now I find that it’s not uncommon to get hit with the occasional ice crystal while on the ground. I know you could pretty much make it snow on the flight deck in older Embraer products like the E-120.
