  1. Anyone buy Spurs tickets off of stubhub? I am going to the Burnley match. Last home game and even as a Hotspur+ member no tickets from the club ticket office at all. Tickets went on sale this morning. Hard to imagine. The club said just keep an eye on the ticket exchange but Id rather go ahead and aquire some tickets even though its still two months out.
  2. I've been twice and will take my buddy in May. It never gets old
  3. It takes 3 I changed scarfs. You're welcome
  4. I didnt really like Brussels and been there done that. The eurostar first class from London to Brussels was indeed quite nice. The Thaleys from Brussels to AMS not so much. Someone asshole would not get out of my seat but bonus I ended up sitting with three 20 somethings who didnt really believe in bras

    Getting old sucks

I'm dealing with bicept tendinitis. Got a shot about 9 mths ago. Better then it got worse. My buddy who is my ortho sent me to get a sonagram injection right into the tendon. That doc commented that my tendon was "out of its track". Said we can try this but probably won't work as a permanent solution. 3 months later pain is returning. Fuck. Sounds like surgery is in my near future
  6. Ignore the music. Im not great at editing. I'm going to upload a second video here in about 10. Was in Guatemala and found this ride in Antigua wth Old Town Outfitters. El Zur Mtn BIke Park. For $200 they took me there and loaned me a bike and a helmet. I brought my own shoes and gloves. My guide Pablo was great. They take you to the bottom of the volcano then load the bikes onto a 40 year old toyota 4x4 completee with 10 year old kid getting out to lock the hubs. You ride in the back with the bikes holding on to the rails for dear life. The ride up was a freaking workout staying in the back. We almost got stuck several times the road up was steep as shit. These videos show its a pretty moderate skill level. The views from the trail when it wasnt covered in trees and brush was amazing. There was one rock wall feature that I would take on at home but not half way down a volcano. Was not interested in a broken arm two days into an 8 day vacation. I had a few small crashes turning on some of those right handed switchbacks. Just ran out of room to the left and in some of those places it was straight down the cliff. It's about two hours down. When you get done they have a beer and some sandwiches. My gopro ran out of power about 3/4 down. Missed the lower quarter which was probably the best part TBH
  7. This will be my fourth visit to London. Done pretty much everything. But agreed its a great city. My buddy coming with me has not been so we might end up with an extra day so he can sightsee a bit more
  8. London for two nights. Going to a EPL match. Flying out of AMS 6 days later. 4 years ago I went to Brussels and then Bruges. Might do Bruges again but what else? Rotterdam? Ghent? Antwerp?Should we roll over to Cologne? Maybe to Dortmund for another match?
  9. I think secret is more kid friendly as far as the water but it also has more of a club feel. Definitely bring your sunglasses to check out the strings while your wife isn't looking. Caulker had more shops and restaurants etc to wander around.
  10. Need some pro advice. Looking to maintain my UA gold status. I am going to LON/AMS in May. I am booking through Lufthansa so I can earn more PQPs based on distance not just $$. Based on mileage I should earn the max PQPs of 1500 vs 1100 based on booking through United. The entire trip will be on UA metal. My question is this. Will I still have all the benefits of my status on United? Will I still get complimentary upgrades? Will I still get to pick ecoplus seats at the time of booking? Also as on past long haul trips I monitor the cost of upgrades to prem plus or even polaris. eg last Sept I was able to purchase a polaris seat to Santiago for $600. Lie flat for 9 hours for $600 all fucking day. WIll I still be able to buy an upgrade at a later date if booked through a partner airline.
  11. As somone who has been in the business for well over 30 years. I've seen everything and more than 99% of people in the business. There is some good info on here and some not so good. I'll just say. There is a a reason insurance is sold on commission
  12. I havent even attemped to go into aa AXP lounge since covid. The lines to even get in and try to scramble for a seat is unbelievable and is only getting worse as far as I can tell. Throw in that United has clubs in every terminal vs trying to make it over the whatever terminal the AXP lounge is in. Of course the AXP lounges are generally nicer and the food is much better but not worth the wait of course. I still have the card and it still pays for itself even if I dont spend a min in an AMEX lounge.
  13. IMO the bottle neck is when you have to wait for a checked bag and then everyone jams up at the two customs booths. Immigration has what 12 booths?
  14. Certain higher end restaurants in Antigua that had a reputation like Tartines did feel kind of expensive relatively. But out on the lake it was way cheaper. Transport etc was average cost. Lodging probably pretty similar as well. I don't really care about cost esp when I travel but Guatemala had shit tons of backpakers; probalby more than anywhere Ive been so I assume that are ways to go pretty cheap there. That was a reoccuring theme from transport to hotels to food. Seemed like every budget was available.
  15. Overall an oustanding place to visit. Definitely less commercial than CR but not too much. I mean there is a Starbuck, McDonalds and Office Depot in Antigua. It's definitely not as raw/gritty as Nicaragua for example. Perefectly in the middle. I can definitely see going back at some point with some changes and also to get up to Tikal and down to El Paredon. The weather overall was perfect. I'm normally an AC or not go kind of person but not a single place I stayed had AC and I didnt miss it at all. Don't bother taking USD. Not even the transport van from Antigua to Panajchel would take my $20. Credit card acceptance was far far more than I been led to believe. A few other things. Immigration is easy but definitely realize that the big signs with the bar code pertain to you and you do have to fill out the form on your phone and show it. Coming out of GUA is typical central america airport insanity where every brother, sister, cousin, aunt and apparently ever neighbor comes to the airport with ballons etc to greet you. Finding your shuttle isnt the easiest. On the way back home; security is pretty hectic but once you get through that; exit immigration was easy and fast. Overall the country felt very safe to me. I only got "scammed" once. In San Pedro I gave the guy a 10 for a 5qz purchase and he just looked at me. I said I gave you a 10 and he reached down to his till and brought out a 5qz. I just looked at him and lauged and said Ok sure I did. Im not arguing over $0.60. Other than that no issues what so ever
