Also, no winning candidate has failed to win a majority of elected delegates since primaries went nationwide. If it happens this year, we will be treading on new turf.

Correct me if I’m wrong... Clinton did not have a majority of pledged delegates in 2016. Obama did not have a majority of pledged delegates in 2008. Have to go back to 2004 Kerry when someone had an outright majority.

You know he had the exact opposite response in 2016, don’t you? You know he’s in the lead and is expected to walk in into the convention with the lead but not a majority, don’t you? Everyone on that stage said what was in their best interest. He’s a genuine guy but on this he wants to win, that’s all it was.

He didn’t have a different response. At no point in 2016 did Bernie Sanders argue that the candidate with the most delegates should not be the nominee.

Yes I know he will have a plurality. Why I asked when is the last time someone had a plurality and was not the nominee.

Oh for the love of God, have we forgotten 2016 already??

WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Senator Bernie Sanders defiantly vowed again on Sunday to take his campaign to the Democratic National Convention this summer, even as Hillary Clinton edged closer to clinching the party’s presidential nomination and the final primary contests drew near.

Two days before Tuesday’s primaries in California and five other states, Mr. Sanders repeated his pledge not to concede even if Mrs. Clinton acquires enough delegates to reach 2,383, the threshold for securing the nomination.

When Mr. Sanders, who greeted fans in West Hollywood, was asked by reporters if he remained committed to pushing for a contested convention, he said he “absolutely” was.

A convention is typically seen as contested when a candidate cannot reach the necessary delegate count using both pledged delegates and superdelegates. In 2008, Mrs. Clinton conceded to Barack Obama shortly after the final primary and before the convention. But Mr. Sanders is promising to break with tradition and extend his fight further than initially expected.

“It is extremely unlikely that Secretary Clinton will have the requisite number of pledged delegates to claim victory on Tuesday night,” Mr. Sanders said. “Now, I have heard reports that Secretary Clinton has said it’s all going to be over on Tuesday night. I have reports that the media, after the New Jersey results come in, are going to declare that it is all over. That simply is not accurate.”

How’d that end? Did he attempt to take it from her? I haven’t forgotten shit. Have you?

Sanders received a three-minute standing ovation when he rose to speak at the Democratic National Convention on July 25. He thanked and congratulated his campaign workers and spoke of his work with the Democratic Platform Committee, saying, "there was a significant coming together between the two campaigns and we produced, by far, the most progressive platform in the history of the Democratic Party...Our job now is to see that platform implemented by a Democratic Senate, a Democratic House and a Hillary Clinton presidency – and I am going to do everything I can to make that happen."[144]

The first night of the Democratic National Convention was frequently disrupted with booing and chanting by a segment of Sanders's campaign workers termed the "Bernie or Bust" contingent. Even Sanders was booed when he said, "We must vote for Hillary Clinton."

I like Bernie and I obviously understand why he takes the stand he does. I think this is a silly take though.

The Democratic Party is a private organization. They're not a any more bound to the will of voters than a HOA or something. They can nominate who they want. If the D field is so crowded that there's no majority, it's not un-democratic to find someone who can build a coalition. It's how Parliamentary democracies function. Typically in that situation it's the party with a plurality that ends up governing, because they can get enough smaller groups on board. Should it come to that, Bernie would likely be in a very advantageous position with a significantly larger number of delegates than anyone else. If he can't form a coalition then that's on him.

This private organization bullshit. The coalition is the voters. Starts and ends there.

When is the last time a contender had the plurality and wasn’t the nominee?

  5. My only new takeaway from tonight is that Bernie was the only one on that stage that truly believes in democracy. Others too close to the office to fucking answer the simple question correctly. Shameful.

When is the last time a primary contender on either side went into the convention with a plurality and wasn’t the nominee?

Well reasoned statement from someone opposed to Michael Bloomberg becoming the Democratic Presidential Nominee. If you haven't already watched - take 4:06 minutes and watch. It was posted earlier but you might have missed it. An interesting perspective on the targeting element of stop and frisk.

Targeting groups and individuals for punitive treatment when he was mayor of the most powerful city and police force in the world makes him absolutely unelectable.

We talk about the abuses of Trump. How can we elect someone who held office and did the same things Trump does to people and groups who are the most vulnerable to abuses of power?  Someone who a bigot but cradled with extreme privilege, power, and wealth  Someone just as harmful as Trump.

His "little slip-ups" hurt a lot of humans. The ripple effects continue to this day. The People of the United States need hope, not more of the same. Please be proud of who you vote for.

If you don’t understand or empathize it’s bc you simply don’t want to.

Over the years I've been called 'coon', 'uncle tom', 'sellout' and a bunch of other shit by friends, family and strangers. Words that I would never have used against another black person over politics. Until now..And I never thought I that I would truly see a 'house negro' in my time. spacer.png

(He probably had everyone of them stopped and frisked before allowing them on stage. And they loved it).

Any black person that supports this racist asshole is a sellout, no two ways about. A fucking black quisling! Why else would they support this shit? After all the bullshit said about 'stop and frisk', red lining, profiling now they are on stage skinning, grinning, shucking and jiving. A bunch of fucking props just for money. And the saddest part is they have other viable options, but they willingly chose the racist with the biggest wallet. P-A-N's can't say shit about Trump and his racism.

If Trump is such a racist, asshole shit lord, then WTF is Bloomberg? He's Trump and them some. He just hid it better, paid people off. Democrat hypocrisy at it's finest.

And for all you good folks, who are going to 'hold your nose' and vote for Bloomberg..bullshit. You will be everything that you have said about Trump supporters. You were just pretending to be something else because of politics.

I didn't vote for Trump the first time and had not planned on voting for him in November. So this isn't about getting Trump re-elected. But if Bloomberg is the dem nominee, I will be voting for Trump. I'd rather deal with the asshole who has the balls to say it to my face. Rather than the pussy, who will smile in my face, pat me on the back and then sic the cops on me.

You know I’ve avoided spilling the beans here bc I didn’t want to start more Bernie Bro wars but co sign for the Latinos. The young ones at least. Give me the racists in the white hoods and red hats over the sly ones. I wouldn’t vote for Trump bc fuck that puto but I would be at home.

Y'all covering for Bloomberg to protect your money. I’ll just say this as nicely as I can. You are choosing your loose change to better your life and causing catastrophic circumstances for others if you vote Bloomberg over Bernie.

Your tax cuts vs black and brown people being stopped in the street. No white community would stand for this bullshit.

Your tax cuts vs students drowned in student debt. Debt you’ve never experienced out the gate.

Etc etc I could go on. Fuck all of you who question a person for staying home and not tolerating shit like this. My vote is for something. My vote is not against anything. Especially when those two things are the same fucking thing.

Just my thoughts. Not wasting anymore time on this cocksucker bc he’s going nowhere anyway. It’s in the bag.

This is going to be an easy attack ad against Bloomberg even as he wants to try and distance himself from his Stop and Frisk policy.

Tell us how you feel Mike. Tell me again how I should vote for someone like Mike or Joe. Tell me again how a Bernie Bro would react. Did you listen to the audio?

So are we not getting any more Iowa results?

This Iowa caucus is a farce. What a joke. How can any objective observer not see this for what it is? Biden was a mirage. Pete had a chance in Iowa. Coordinates w app makers. Iowa Democrats withhold information. Pete declares victory. Release partial results favorable to Pete. Deliberately trying to stall Bernie’s momentum to no avail.
