  1. What? And piss off daddy Putin? Not a chance.
  2. I sure would hate to be a Ukrainian this morning. They’re fucked.
  3. And that’s an office once held by George W. Bush.
  4. I’m happy to report that those Tapatio Doritos kick ass. They exceeded my expectations. Very tasty and a nice little kick. Will get again.
  5. I saw one woman today wearing a Make America Kind Again shirt. That was refreshing.
  6. Yep. Three decades in pop culture promoting himself as a rich, successful businessman blinded a lot of people to what a fraudulent fucking moron he is.
  7. We were slammed this morning but things are really dead right now. Just three voters in the room at the moment. I e had way more work at the paper/provisional ballot table than I ever have before. (This is my first presidential election.) Still, we’ve only processed 48 voters total at my table so far, 9 of those provisional. In total we’ve processed 563 regular voters at this location. We’re expecting another rush here soon when people are getting off work.
  8. I learned after only trying it once.
  9. Just had some guy come in looking for the person in charge. (The VLM in this case.) He said he wants to hand out sample ballots outside and the flags are supposed to be 100 feet from the door but they’re 150 feet. The flags don’t delineate the boundary and Andy our VLM explained that there are little signs out there at 100 feet to designate where the restricted area begins. I guarantee that guy is a Trumper.
  10. Ummm…you see…about that…
  11. Hippies from San Francisco voting left — who would’ve guessed? For your entertainment:
  12. Cross-posting from the Grateful Dead thread. Bob Weir and Mickey Hart are supporting Harris-Walz.
  13. Bobby spoke out. Well, OK, I guess it all depends on your worldview; you can see your place in the world as something to defend from those who might want to take some or all of it from you—or you can see it as a grand adventure, a place to make dreams come to fruition for yourself and for others. There is, of course, an in-between place—but the more you lean toward the grand adventure side, the clearer the choice becomes. More good comes from focusing on building a world where disparities aren’t so pronounced that they cause friction and reducing the inequalities that create barriers. With these things in mind, I’ve done my research and come to the clear conclusion that I’ll be voting for @KamalaHarris and @TimWalz this time around. https://www.instagram.com/bobweir/p/DBrusUYSIJn/ Mickey spoke out too. Fire on the Mountain! In dictatorships there are no rules of fair play, no freedoms of any kind. This rhythm is not the rhythm of a people but of one person. Liberty and freedom are rare in this world. America is our country where freedom is in jeopardy. Don’t take it for granted…it is worth fighting for. We need leaders like Kamala Harris to raise us up and to save our freedoms and liberty, the singular and most important value of America. Kamala has a vision, that vision is based on individual rights, to pray in peace, to have control over your own health, to protect our land and oceans.. everything. Most of the world is now in chaos because they do not believe in the rules, the rhythms in life that work, and the others that do not. You have only one vote to make your mark. This is one of the most important decisions you'll ever make.. The alternative is really not an alternative after all…this is no joke folks. Your fate, your world is on the line. @kamalaharris is the only choice VOTE!!! https://www.instagram.com/mickeyhart/p/DBr-_5lJ_yW/ Billy did too but not as explicitly.
  14. My polling location has been open for 90 minutes. Isn’t it about time to unlock the Election Day thread?
  15. I’m bringing diced fresh habaneros and scorpion Tabasco sauce to give my bowl some zing.
  16. Not sure where else to put this. We’re having a potluck at our polling location tomorrow. When our VLM brought it up during the primary election in March, one dude (Bob) volunteered to bring chili. I knew right then what kind of “chili” it was going to be. Today I got confirmation. Bob sent out a pic of his vegetable beef soup with beans that he’s calling “chili.” Good grief. At least there’s no corn in it. And to be fair it looks like a decent homemade version of Wendy’s chili. And it looks better than Jade’s. But I knew it was going to be something like this and I’m going to have to keep my thoughts to myself tomorrow and try to maintain a professional work atmosphere. It’s not going to be easy.
  17. Wait, Nicolle Wallace worked for Palin too? Ugh. I knew she worked for Dubya. That’s bad enough. But Palin? Wtf was wrong with her and how did she finally see the light? I still love her but…damn.
  18. I’d tell him to take his pick.
  19. They’ve got more zip than the plain Voodoo chips, and also the Hotter ‘N Hot Jalapeño chips which have the added bonus of not tasting like jalapeño. At all. But I’ll still eat them. I’m really not even that big of a fan of kettle cooked potato chips but I buy Zapp’s from time to time and Voodoo Heat more than any of the others. They’ve got a little tang like salt and vinegar chips then some of the flavors found in Cajun/Creole spices like paprika, cayenne, garlic, and onion. They don’t have much of a kick but they’re still pretty dang tasty. I haven’t seen Doritos Flamas at Kroger or Giant Eagle/Market District in awhile but I found them at Meijer today and bought a bag. I also found a bag of Tapatio flavor which I hadn’t encountered locally before and bought a bag of those. I’m taking them both to the potluck for us election workers at my polling location tomorrow.
  20. On the eve of the U.S. presidential election, Q has died. Coincidence? RIP to music legend Quincy Jones, dead at 91. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cjr4n2490r9o
  21. He looks like he’s singing Mammy.
