  1. It was probably irresponsible of my dad to take my brother, sister, and me to see that movie in the theater. Just a few years after the divorce, maybe he thought he was being the cool dad. Maybe it was okay for my older siblings but it scared the bejeezus out of me. And for some reason I had to sleep on an old military cot next to the bed that my brother had all to himself and I had nightmares about a big shark underneath me.
  2. Your AI overview doesn’t support your assertion. It just says we gave them money. When don’t we? It doesn’t say anything about Israel needing to be persuaded to support the invasion. Can you find any evidence to support that claim? I posted a video of Benjamin Netanyahu addressing congress and enthusiastically advocating the Bush administration’s position that Iraq had WMD’s and was on the verge of producing nuclear weapons. Sound familiar? (And Jesus, how the fuck is Netanyahu still around? He’s like Putin.)
  3. Can’t blame them for milking the U.S. for whatever they can get, especially when an unqualified evangelical dumbfuck like George W. Bush was president. But they never had the power to stop the invasion. And Netanyahu openly campaigned for it. Israel having to be bought off in order for the invasion to proceed wasn’t a thing.
  4. In the first Gulf War, George HW Bush convinced Israel not to respond to SCUD missile attacks launched by Saddam, trying to draw them into the conflict, for fear that it would fracture the coalition that included other Muslim countries. Israel complied. They were never, ever opposed to the U.S. invasion of Iraq in 2003. Not really a forgive and forget culture over there. (Anywhere in the region.) Great. The U.S. gave a bunch of money to Israel. That’s business as usual. Israel was never opposed to the war but they’re always happy to take our money. In 2003 the U.S. was more than happy to go it alone. Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld didn’t care much about coalition building. Even if Israel wanted to prevent the invasion, which I think the video I posted of Netanyahu addressing the U.S. congress and explicitly supporting it should pretty conclusively demonstrate that they never did, it wouldn’t have changed anything. They didn’t need to be bought off in order for the invasion to proceed.
  5. Huh? I recall Israel being an enthusiastic supporter of the invasion. Their prime minister, at least.
  6. Why do you say Hakeem Jeffries is a “fucking moron?”
  7. It’s real and that guy on the right is now the Secretary of Defense.
  8. But the staff had all been Doge’d.
  9. Here we go.
  10. Pravda for Republicans.
  11. That depends. Which Mexico are we talking about?
  12. “We don’t want the smoking gun to be a mushroom cloud.”
  13. You’d learn a valuable lesson from the latter, not so much from the former.
  14. Trump demonstrated that America is not to be trusted.
  15. The 2024 election says otherwise. Not showing up at Trump’s parade doesn’t mean you don’t support Trump. And the No Kings protests were far less diverse than the BLM protests. We still have a LONG way to go.
  16. They’d have to have a nuke to do that. They don’t have a nuke. They’re closer to having one now than they were before Trump tore up the JCPOA, but they still don’t have one.
  17. We’ll see what happens.
  18. We don’t think he’s already written that loon off as someone who no longer has any value to him? Like Giuliani?
  19. Lindsey Graham was on Face the Nation yesterday arguing that the U.S. should get involved and finish the job that Bibi started.
  20. I never bought for a second that Iraq posed any danger to the U.S. Saddam may have been a threat to his Arab neighbors and to non-Sunni Iraqis, but never to America. I knew Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11. That was obvious smoke. Bin Laden would view Saddam Hussein as an apostate and would never partner with him. I also knew as soon as Dubya was elected that we’d be at war with Iraq by the time Bush was running for reelection. That was going to happen regardless of 9/11. The terrorist attacks just gave him a convenient excuse.
  21. None of the January 6 insurrectionists had to pay him off.
  22. So he’s not an oath keeper. But he might be an Oath Keeper. Strange.
  23. Yep. I’ll be shocked if Trump doesn’t scuttle or overturn any federal charges. It’s so on brand and for him I don’t see how he could resist.
  24. Muslims and Jews don’t hate each other because of their differences in language or complexion, Einstein.
