  1. Many people are saying.
  2. It’s insanity.
  3. Not holding my breath on the current president Carter (not to be confused with the late, honorable former President Carter).
  4. Anyone who’s been even sort of paying attention knew that Trump would fuck over Ukraine. A vote for Trump was a vote for Putin.
  5. Hey man, don’t disparage the good name of Oingo Boingo.
  6. She’s so awesome.
  7. I didn’t watch. Don’t really care to watch the lowlights, either. I’m pretty sure it was all predictable bullshit. If anything important came out of it, I’ll hear about it in due time.
  8. Seriously, asshole? Grow the fuck up.
  9. Russia’s America
  10. Oh, they’re transparent alright.
  11. They don’t give a shit about the commandment that says “Thou shalt not commit adultery.” You think they’ll give a shit about that one?
  12. Human rights, freedom, and democracy.
  13. He knew what he was doing. He chose this path.
  14. Republicans don’t feel shame.
  15. Steve Bannon was given an office in the White House. They don’t care about how anyone dresses, only about fealty to the dictator. Fake sartorial outrage is just a distraction.
  16. I have this killer Miles Davis “bootleg” (or whatever, I downloaded it years ago and I’m not sure if I’ve got the recording info filed away somewhere but I’m listening to it now) and I decided to Google it. I found a release on discogs.com that matches it but the songs are in a different order. https://www.discogs.com/release/469656-Miles-Davis-John-Coltrane-Konserthuset-Stockholm-March-22-1960 On my disc the song order is: 1. On Green Dolphin Street 2. All Blues 3. So What 4. Fran Dance 5. Walkin’ > The Theme I don’t know the lineage of this show/my recording but it smokes. Coltrane tears it up. Wynton Kelly on the keys too. Holy crap. I haven’t listened to this in some time. I just pulled it out of a box the other day. I gotta spread the love. I’ll have to do some research into this if want to figure out where this comes from but for now it’s worth it just as a standalone recording of an incredible performance. Here’s the discogs version:
  17. Morning Joe led with that today. Video of him saying it followed by video of him questioning whether he said it, the implication of course is that he was denying he said it. They also showed video of saying that the EU was formed in order to “screw” America followed by video of a reporter asking him about that and him questioning whether he said it. He also went on to say he didn’t think he would say something like that. Willie Geist questioned whether Trump was just being “coy” or whether he really didn’t remember. That’s missing the point. Trump is simply a bullshit artist. He’s a troll. He’s playing a different game than those of us living in the reality-based community. Asking whether or not he believes something misses the point that he doesn’t care. True and false, right and wrong, those aren’t separate concepts in his psyche. He’s mentally deranged. He can believe that “A” and “Not A” are both true at the same time without suffering any cognitive dissonance. He can say “A”, then say “Not A,” you can show him video of him saying both, he can question all of it, and his cult followers will blame whomever was questioning him about it for being dishonest and “fake news.”
  18. How many years is it going to take before you realize you’re wasting your time? You’re operating at cross-purposes. If he was attempting to engage in honest, thoughtful, rational discourse then you might have a point. But he’s not. He’s intellectually dishonest. He’s an impulsive contrarian who gets off on the attention from being a fly in the ointment. And he’s not half as smart as he thinks he is if you haven’t caught on to that yet. I put him on ignore back when he was parroting Trump’s “collusion delusion” catchphrase, that was around 8 years ago now. I’ve got him figured out. Nothing I’ve seen in the years of other people quoting him has revealed anything new to me. He is now exactly who I thought he was then. He’s a troll. He adds nothing to the conversation other than disruption and distraction. By engaging with him you reward him and help him disrupt and distract. Are you surprised by anything he says? Or does he say exactly what you’d expect him to say because you’ve got him figured out and have for a long time?
  19. I’d go with “first guess”. I think you can guess better. I don’t want to make a thing about it but I think your scenario requires her to see the natural passing of her 95-year-old husband as a surprise, like she didn’t see it coming and wasn’t prepared. I’d guess that’s the least likely scenario.
  20. Why not murder-suicide? Or what if the wife committed suicide, Hackman discovered her, then had an episode and, being old and frail, succumbed to a heart attack and/or a fall? I think your guess is the least likely of the three scenarios. ’Oh my god, my 95-year-old husband, 30 years my senior, died suddenly. Who could have seen this coming? I’m super rich but I just can’t go on without him. He’s old enough to be my father but I thought we would be together forever!’ Not seeing it.
  21. Because you were young and foolish and never heard anyone say it correctly.
