  1. Doesn't appear that Neris was the designated driver, either.
  2. By recent Houston standards, we've played a lot of forgettable baseball this season. Fortunately, everyone else in the AL West has played even more of it. And there are no super teams in either league, though there are quite a few individuals having monster years. So if Alvarez is OK and we get a bit more from our role player bats and Pressly, we might do some serious damage.
  3. Hope you're right. Minnesota also sucks. Other than maybe the loser of the race for the East, I don't see any of the AL's WC candidates going on the kind of run Arlington or Arizona did last year.
  4. Exactly. Since roughly when they lost Pasquantino for the season they've had a big dropoff in run production. Hard to fathom, but we now look like the 1927 Yankees in comparison. As much as I'd like to face KC, I really doubt they make it in. They finish with the Braves, who of course will be giving it all they have.
  5. They'll call their 7-5/6-6 the equivalent of 11-1/10-2 in the BDF and actually believe it.
  6. Well played tonight. Congrats to the team.
  7. Last September we stumbled around and won the West mainly because two other teams stumbled even more at the end of the month. But you can't sit back and wait for your rival to implode...especially when you're playing them. Go win this thing.
  8. Those numbers are obviously great. But as 2 of the 18 losses have come since noon Sunday, with the bullpen giving up 12 runs in the process, fans are still going to be on edge as we try to close out the division. Especially with 44 still unavailable. Framber really needs to be special again today, and some bats had better step up to help Yainer. Seattle pitches too well to make this easy
  9. Gbend, don't break.
  10. Hunter Brown outplayed the rest of our team. And once again he deserved way better than he got.
  11. Meanwhile, we can't afford any more runs here. Bring in an actual ML reliever.
  12. Exactly the sort of showing I figured we'd have against Miller. Hurry back, 44.
  13. A few of their posters have started calling us "Texas" instead of "tu." Some would say that's respect, but we know it's more likely an incursion of 2%ers and sips.
  14. It's bad baseball.
  15. Whether we're playing a contender, a doormat or any team in between, our late innings nearly always are way more tense than they should be. Especially since we have several supposedly "elite" guys in the BP. Maybe JV had a post-season role there after all, because he couldn't be much worse than these goobers.
  16. So giving up an uncovered Hail Mary to reach OT, and then somehow losing the ball milliseconds before scoring to extend the game in OT, isn't as impossible as I'd have told you 12 hours ago.
  17. I really don't mind these "teachable moments" against opponents who have no shot at beating us. Against good teams it's another story.
  18. Utes survive offensively challenged OSU, 22-19. Bowman is dreadful.
  19. Michigan's offense is reviving long-repressed memories of the 2014 Texas Bowl.
  20. Bucknuts aren't exactly hanging to this point, despite home field, the usual edge in talent and some undeserved luck on that punt penalty. Would love to see the Herd get another TD before halftime.
  21. Did someone say tackle box?
