Saw them in '07 at the Congress Theater in Chicago with a good friend who passed away two years later. Shane was a drunken mumbling marble-mouthed mess. But he nailed the vocals. It was fucking awesome. I'm so goddamn happy I got to see them live, and will always cherish that memory. Listened to all of Rum, Sodomy, and the Lash and If I Should Fall From Grace of God yesterday. RIP to an absolute legend.

I have some UT college buddies who have daughters in UT sororities now. Word on the street is that Arch is having a fine, fine time with the girls.
Your buddies’ daughters are all getting dick down’d by Arch?

Everyone thought our DL was gonna suck this year and it was the strength of the team. I ain't worried about DL unless Bo Davis gets in the motherfucker
Valid points. I don't feel that DL will be a team weakness next year because of Bo Davis. But I also think it's fair to be somewhat concerned that we will have difficulty replacing the production of the guys that are leaving. Perhaps we'll be surprised two years in a row. But hope isn't a strategy.

Of all the insane shit about Aggy that I'll never understand, perhaps the one thing that is most mystifying is why they insist on being so declarative about shit that can be so easily factually disputed or disregarded based on historical performance.
"We don't have a plan B. We identify our top target and go get him" - You literally hired your backup plan when the original backup plan was mocked by your fanbase.
"This is not an 8-4 job" - Your historical performance over the past 25 years is 8-4 and you hired a guy that fell short of those middling expectations in the ACC.
The plaque. That's all. The plaque.
NONE of that shit needed to be said or done. They're so fucking obsessed with projecting their own (hilariously inaccurate) manufactured sense of confidence and superiority that they continue to do and say unbelievably stupid shit.
They publicly state that one of the main things they were looking for in a coach was his ability to keep their illustrious #1 class of all time intact. Never mind that from a program-building perspective the class was comically weighted to one position group, filled with character risks and out-of-state mercenaries that aren't ever likely to succeed. Who from that class has turned into a "must retain" stud? Name one. You can't. Walter Nolan? He's a good player. He's not a dude opposing OCs have to scheme around. Evan Stewart? He's gone. Bryce Anderson? Maybe he'll get there? If you're wanting to rid yourself of the festering rot of mediocrity that has plagued your program for 25 years none of those guys should matter. Project cautious confidence in the capability of the new guy and give him time to build the program the way he wants to. But no, you can't do that. You're making decisions that will reverberate for decades hoping against all odds that you win one game next year.
This is how stupid people run shit. It's fucking absurd.

The people that remember Lam Jones are now eligible to collect social security.

Sweat is starting to pop up on a few mock drafts as a late 1st round pick. I've also noticed that Sanders and Ewers aren't showing up on any new 1st round mocks, and Worthy - who used to be a consensus first rounder - is only on about half of them. In fact, Mitchell seems to be trending to be the first Horns receiver drafted.

Binged Blue Eye Samurai this week. Very good. Definitely worth a watch. Animation is fantastic. Interesting story. Good character development. Looking forward to a second season.

WTH? Is this a bit or what? If legit, please post some background and details as I've never heard this before.
That is not a topic we want to revisit at all and we should all neg Vertigo for even trying to open that stupid fucking cloak room can of worms.
Edit: Talking about the activism part. The plane thing was about Tom and Michelle getting hammered on a private jet and fighting with each other and her trying to open an emergency exit mid-flight. Allegedly.

I don't think I've ever had prime rib without horseradish sauce. Is this not a common thing?

And here we are a short time later, 9-1, in the playoff picture, another solid recruiting class and they're looking for a new coach and paying off a fully guaranteed 100 mil contract.
They're only looking for one new coach. The head coach. All the other coaches are staying because the only thing wrong was the head coach.

IF Elko turns them down they are in a world of hurt. there is no reason for that guy to say no and his success will depend on his offensive hires - he is a very, very good DC and i can't wait to hear the gnashing of teeth in college station when he brings Santucci back with him
Elko's not turning them down. If you believe that scoundrel @closetojumping he's actively lobbying for the job. He just gave a non-denial denial re: his interest in the position.
That being said, if they fire Jimbo and end up with fucking Elko, I will laugh heartily.
I'm still rooting for Dabo so we get to ride this rollercoaster again. It's a really fun ride.

This is inherently the problem with hiring these type of coaches.
When Florida hired Napier the argument that everyone was screaming from the roof top was "the lack of quality wins at ULL is because it's fucking ULL." You're only reiterating why these type of hires are huge risks.
I don’t disagree. I just don’t think you can call it a red flag.- 2

Its fucking UTSA. They’re not gonna have a winning record vs top 50 teams regardless of how good their coach is. Kirby smart wouldn’t have a winning record. Be realistic here.

I would not be surprised to see a Sark type hire - either an OC/DC who has previous HC experience who is available for 5-6 million per, or a younger G5 coach who would be looking for that P5 promotion.
I think you can basically eliminate almost all of the current P5 coaches as candidates (other than maybe Elko).
While I don't think the next hire is going to be able to demand the same stupid contract they gave Jimbo, I don't see any scenario where someone takes the job for less than what they're paying their former coach annually. The floor is the $7+ million they're paying Jimbo to fuck off. You can't still be paying the old guy you fired more than you're paying the new guy.

You don’t trade Jumbo and $70 million for Lanning or Elko. Even aggy isn’t that stupid.
Then who? Realistically...

Please hire Dabo.
Please hire another former national championship winning coach whose best days are behind them, who rode the coattails of generational college quarterbacks, who is also unwilling to adapt to the changing landscape of college football, and whose program is already on the downslide.
Please, please, please do this?

I guess they can always come up with the money, but having to pay Fisher for the next eight years means they better get it right with the next guy. Because if they fire the next guy after 4 years, and will likely have to buy the next guy out, they’ll be paying three head coaches at once for a year or four.

What was with the timing? You fire him after a 51-10 win? Wtf? Are they trying to fuck with players' 30-day transfer window?
I think they wanted to make it official before the unlikely scenario of an LSU upset, which would have been even more awkward. If you know you want to fire the guy, get it over with. -

Posse East is the correct answer. Unless you need hard liquor. In which case I recommend sneaking in a flask.
