Whatever you call that law school, I'm sort of surprised that Ted would associate with a lawyer who has such an underwhelming academic resume.

Interesting how all the protests across the nation use the same chants. Do they have their own Surly to pass on ideas?

There's telepathy among certain age groups.

It's like those of us 80s kids all knew that "NASA" means "Needs Another Seven Astronauts" even though we all lived in different parts of the country, and there was no internet or other means of mass communication (and BBSes weren't quite big enough yet).  Or we know what brand shampoo Challenger 7 used, etc.

  3. Trump whines about tech companies being prejudiced against him, but fucking Microsoft Co-Pilot does everything it can to discourage you from creating something even remotely resembling him, starting making all orange-haired men have large beards, even when you add "clean shaven" or "without a beard" or "no beard" into the description.  If you mention Trump by name, it threatens an account suspension.

An Austin photojournalist who was arrested while covering a protest on the University of Texas Austin campus on April 24, is facing two misdemeanor charges– assault and interference with public duties, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Court documents previously showed he was facing a felony charge of assault on a peace officer. Additional documentation showed that warrant was canceled.

KXAN spoke to Sanchez, who identified himself as Carlos and said he worked with Fox 7, as he was led away in handcuffs during the April 24 protest.

“They said that I hit an officer. I didn’t hit an officer. They were pushing me. They were pushing me,” he said. “This never happened to me, you know what I mean? I was just covering things… I told them I was press.”

In the statement provided Wednesday, DPS said Sanchez was “seen moving towards a DPS Trooper, then lunging and striking the Trooper with his camera in the lower head and neck area.” Furthermore, the agency said video evidence showed Sanchez was not pushed, and there were not objects in front of him that “would have caused him to trip making contact with the Trooper.”

This morning, 43-year-old Carlos Giraldo Sanchez, of Austin, Texas, met with Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Special Agents and was charged with two misdemeanors – assault and interference with public duties – he was then booked into the Travis County Jail. These charges stem from Sanchez’s actions during last week’s protest at the University of Texas (UT) Austin campus.

According to multiple video and witness statements, Sanchez is among a group of protestors as law enforcement officers work to disperse the group from campus. He can be seen moving towards a DPS Trooper, then lunging and striking the Trooper with his camera in the lower head and neck area. Video evidence also shows Sanchez is not pushed and it appears there are no objects that would have caused him to trip making contact with the Trooper.

The department understands a journalist’s right to cover events of the day, and we work to ensure those rights are protected while also upholding the laws of this state. While journalists should be provided access, it is never acceptable to interfere with official police duties and assaulting an officer of the law – no matter the degree – will never be tolerated. DPS will always work to ensure the safety of our officers. Both law enforcement officers and journalists should be expected to do their jobs in a professional manner – and we strongly believe a line was crossed last week when one of our Troopers was assaulted while trying to do his job.

Supreme Court decides not to block Texas law that age-gates porn websites. Court denies application for a stay but could still hear challenge to the law.

Most of us will just use VPNs, but damn, a lot of Texans gonna hand over their personally identifying information (including driver's license info) to various companies, all the while not realizing that it will ultimately be hacked and sold off (if not sold off first).

Not only admitted, but doubled down using her public social media accounts, and in the book said she was angry at the 14-month old dog.

I've actually heard that there were witnesses, that it was known within GOP circles, and that she was scared it was going to be leaked to tank her chances at VP, so she tried to get ahead of the story by publishing that, but holy shit she fucked up so bad.

    Quote

Hundreds of University of Texas at Austin faculty signed a letter saying they “no longer have confidence in President Jay Hartzell,” following a series of pro-Palestinian protests on campus over the last week. The UT Austin chapter of the American Association of University Professors was behind the letter, which was signed by more than 620 UT faculty members.

The letter states, “President [Hartzell] has shown himself to be unresponsive to urgent faculty, staff, and student concerns. He has violated our trust.” The letter said Hartzell put people in danger by bringing state troopers to “forcibly disperse students gathering for a peaceful teach-in.” The AAUP said it sent the letter to both Hartzell and the UT Faculty Council on Monday.

    Their demands:

    • Criminal charges be dropped against students and others
    • Students not face disciplinary action at UT for the protest
    • The university respects the First Amendment free speech rights of students and faculty

you say that like these are BAD things

maybe is BECAUSE all the pussy is shaved, that's why they lost their drive. Ever think about that?

Bush is preferable to those of us who like grown-ass women...

But it's all over the place, there's been years where one is more popular than the other, and you can see this with porno videos.

Years back, I worked with a friend producing amateur pornos.  He or I would hang out at gyms, make up some story about how we were an engineer or dermatologist or chef or whatever, and tell dudes at the gym that we would like to watch them have sex with women in front of us, and we'd pay them to meet up at a rental house that we pretended was ours.  We were paying women as well, telling them that we would like to watch them have sex with guys we met at the gym.  After we got both to the house, whoever had recruited the two people would pretend that we were getting off  just watching them have sex, all the while the whole place was rigged with cameras.

If any of those guys or gals ever realized how much money we were making selling videos of them, or that they probably should have checked themselves for STDs afterward, or that we were filming them in the first place, they would have been pissed off.  We didn't even make them sign releases, so in theory they could have sued us, but we tended to pick up good-looking dumbasses and just hoped they never came across videos of themselves.

I’ve wondered about the exact same thing. Or maybe he’s come to his senses and now realizes what a design abortion the Cybertruck is. Just kidding, we know it’s not that.

The Cybertruck is 100% on him.  Although I'm sure in his head, he's convinced himself that it wasn't his idea and that he was manipulated by the design team.  Or he still thinks it's a success.

I think things are much worse than they seem, or none of these moves make sense.  Whether it’s slowing demand, or realization that the competition is catching up and passing on the automotive and self driving front, the last few days indicate a real panic.  I think he also cut his lobbying staff?  I would be really careful about being long right now.

Yeah, it’s really fucking weird, and I’m waiting for him to fire more workers in America and completely move production to Mexico.

Maybe he thinks he can replace some of these people with younger/inexperienced recent graduates, but the institutional knowledge that is disappearing (and will be snapped up by other car companies) is staggering.  Even if he replaces one senior person with 3-4 recent graduates, they will require a lot of time to get up and running and be competent in their jobs.  We are talking years.

With the design firings, given how little their design actually changes over the years and how few designs they have, they may have mapped out a couple of models that will take years to bring into production, and he’s guessing that by that time, any replacement employees will up to speed.
