This is the thing.  Trump is a goddamn embarrassment, but the two parties mostly differentiate themselves by where they stand on a few hot button social issues (abortion, gay marriage, etc.).  They vote mostly the same on the big issues because that's what they're paid to do.

There should a reason why a Republican Congress and Republican President gave is a $1.3 Trillion budget, when they all claimed to be fiscal conservatives during campaign season.

  2. The R vs D shitfest is not as serious as it’s made out to be. Yes, it’s used to fire up the base.

But at the end of the day, the major corporations are donating to both parties, and a lot of legislation happens because members on both sides were bought off.

If you don’t solve the lobbyist problem,  nothing will change.

McConnell is going to have a special fucking place in the history books.  He's a flat-out evil motherfucker who has betrayed his country in the name of transitory political power.  When he is dead and buried, I may make a special trip just to piss on his grave.

His wife is making $200,000 a year being in Trump’s cabinet.

So we know his price, or at least part of it.

That's where Russia helps. Until they flake out and don't feel like it anymore.

Guess who gets to make up all of those sweet military hardware sales to Syria if Iran gets their defense industry knocked offline.

The Israelis are on the brink of a fight with Iran over shit going down in Syria. I don't know about everyone else but a middle East shit show involving Russia, Iran and Israel with Trump as our commander in chief freaks me out a little bit.

"Israel is preparing for a crossborder attack from the Revolutionary Guard Corps, in response for a strike allegedly carried out by the Jewish state against an Iranian operated airbase in Syria which killed seven IRGC soldiers."

If Iran attacks Israel, it’s open season. Israel will shut down Iranian support to Syria, and ISIS will reap the benefits.  And the Saudis may benefit as well in Yemen since it would stretch Iranian logistics assets really thin.

Is there a left wing version of Alex Jones?

Somebody could make a killing on conspiracy theories with all that’s going on.

Maddow spends a lot of time on this, but she’s too scholarly and academic about it. A tinfoil loony could really capitalize on this.

Look at who Bernie’s 2016 followers flock to.  Should give you an idea of the landscape.

Seemed like there were some during W’s administration, but it is odd that there aren’t any that are easily named.

  8. There’s one other thing that helped Jones - he hit the jackpot with the prepper movement (which faded into his vitamin supplement business). He was perfectly positioned to help stir that movement up and reap the financial rewards.

For a while, it seemed like there would be a dozen ads for buying silver or prepper supplies.

Alex Jones is a master entertainer.

I'm fairly certain he voted for Hillary Clinton.

He would have been able to get Trump on his show more than once if she had won.

When football season starts, traffic will pick up on all the boards here, not just football.

Or the next time Surly cracks a local interest mystery or Some Dude reports live from a UT player’s trial/signing day/prom, the masses will show up and stay.

Or Thujone graces us with his artwork.

You don't have to be a deadeye to kill fish in a barrel.  But I'm sure it's all some big conspiracy (that didn't even lead to a single piece of gun legislation).

I think he was joking, but as others pointed out when Jones pushed that bullshit, he conveniently ignored that 50-pound kids tend to not survive being shot as much as 190-pound adults.

And I think it would be fitting if Sandy Hook is what shuts down Jones.

BG wasn't exactly groundbreaking stuff, especially considering that Phillip Weiss already covered that over a decade before.

Besides, if you didn't already think that there were places where really rich fucks went off and dived knee deep into continuous debauchery (especially given that Eyes Wide Shut premiered about a year before Jones went in there), then you were really turning a blind eye.

No, but it’s what Jones hung his hat on. And the 9/11 truther bullshit.

But BG seems to be what kicked Jones off to his rise of the male vitamin supplement hierarchy.

You know things are messed up when Glenn Beck almost sounds normal and reasonable today.

He had some batty theories when he was at Fox News, but nothing approaching things like pizzagate, or what’s been going on these days.

Unless it involves an abortion, the GOP isn't going to give a shit and I think that should be pretty obvious to someone like Hannity. Broidy paying for an abortion doesn't even seem to have made an impact.

Hannity flipped his shit on his radio show yesterday. He was shitting his pants and acting like someone looking at real prison time. I don't think it's just a sex payoff.

That's the big thing  he was shitting his pants and didn’t know what the hell to do

If it involves Assange and coordinating anything, and we know they are chummy, this could see him fired from Fox News.

He could be worried the Murdochs would dump him for the conflict-of-interest thing. I’m fairly certain his expensive contract won’t keep him employed for something like that if they went that route, and they had no problem pushing Ailes and O’Reilly aside for sexual harassment  firing Hannity because he could get them involved in serious shit/lawsuits would be an even easier call to make.

I don't get the sense that Hannity is a sex payoff like the others. Maybe it is, but it seems different for some reason based on reactions.

I think it's more likely that this is a crude attempt to get attorney-client privilege between Cohen and Hannity to prevent investigators finding out something much worse. My guess is that this involves communications between Wikileaks/Assange or coordination on the emails/DNC hack release.

Like Fozz, I think it possibly could have been a payout, since he does work for Fox News.

But then again, it could be just a way to access/communicate with Trump.

But then there’s the Wikileaks stuff.

Charlatan, buffoon and idiot. If Alex Jones had ever either done something or said something useful in his career on the airwaves, I would have remembered it.

    Bohemian Grove.  That’s it.

That and I came across Rev. Ricky Sparkman because of him.

This. The best part of all of this is his dealings with Cohen probably are absolutely nothing but stupid shit. However the left and media will take the ball and run. Which is perfect, because that douche deserves everything he has coming to him.

The best part is Hannity has forever associated himself with a guy known for paying off mistresses, and the public now knows that everything that Hannity says in defense of Cohen are being said from the perspective of a guy who didn’t want the public to know that he was associated with Cohen.

  18. More lawsuits, filed in Austin. We might get a front-row seat.

Alex Jones has spent years claiming the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School ― where a shooter killed 20 small children and six adults ― was faked. He has claimed the parents of these dead children are liars and “crisis actors.”

Now, those parents are coming after him.

In a pair of lawsuits filed late Monday, the parents of two children who died in the December 2012 shooting in Newtown, Connecticut, say Jones’ repeated lies and conspiratorial ravings have led to death threats. The suits join at least two other recent cases accusing the Infowars host of defamatio

    Quote

Neil Heslin, the father of a 6-year-old boy killed in the shooting, and Leonard Pozner and Veronique De La Rosa, who lost their own little boy, filed the suits in Austin, Texas, where Jones’ conspiracy-minded media outlet is based. Each suit is seeking more than $1 million in damages from Jones, Infowars and a related company, Free Speech Systems LLC. Infowars reporter Owen Shroyer is also named in one of the suits.

    Quote

“Even after these folks had to experience this trauma, for the next five years they were tormented by Alex Jones with vicious lies about them,” Mark Bankston, the lawyer handling the cases for the parents, told HuffPost. “And these lies were meant to convince his audience that the Sandy Hook parents are frauds and have perpetrated a sinister lie on the American people.”

Bankston, of the Houston law firm Farrar & Ball, is also involved in another defamation suit against Jones, representing a man whom Infowars incorrectly identified as the Parkland, Florida, school shooter.

Infowars, Jones and Shroyer did not immediately respond to requests for comment

As entertaining as Jones is, between this and his divorce, hopefully this wipes him out.
