Pretty sure Brisket is right here. The conservative spin machine is unparalleled. That's why we are watching people lose everything because of trump tariffs and tell the news cameras that they don't blame him as they match off to the bread lines.

I would love for Mitch to fuck around with SS and Medicare, and see which of us is right.

    They’ll suffer.

And they’ll blame the socialist communist dumbocrats for it.

And show up to vote for Trump, who has promised to save them from the evil dumbocrats.

You underestimate their fear at having to go back to work and/or losing their stuff.

Trump played to that fear, but that fear could easily turn against him.

Seth Rogen was previously attached to star as the legendary anchor.

Chris Pine is attached to play legendary CBS news anchor Walter Cronkite in the drama Newsflash.

The movie, written by Ben Jacoby, recounts the events of Nov. 22, 1963, as television news stations raced to report the facts of President John F. Kennedy's assassination in Dallas. Cronkite's producer Don Hewitt, boss Jim Aubrey and young co-worker Dan Rather are also characters in the pic.

Greg Silverman will produce via his Stampede banner, along with Adam Kolbrenner.

Seth Rogen was previously attached to play Cronkite in a 2017 version of the project, which had David Gordon Green attached to helm.

This seems like kind of a hot mess.

    Shitty MAGAtards probably

So do they have enough time to reach the point where they say something really offensive about Africa-Americans and Hispanics?  Because it would be awesome if they helped drive up minority turnout for the Ds.

Not that Texas would flip next year, but it would be hilarious if Republicans put enough seats into play and then ran shitty enough candidates to tighten things up.

I always enjoyed models as a boy.  The exactness, the attention to every foreseeable detail…

Then you need that Marshal Jessie model I mentioned.  I was never big on western kits, but...

So when do we start the toothpick fort/castle thread?

I love that conservatives now admit that “conservative” is synonymous with “gullible moron.”

And they embrace stuff coming out of 4-Chan as the gospel truth.

Fucking 4-Chan.  Gotta give it to those guys, they played a long game of 4D chess and won.

Since a whole bunch of Trumpkins are old who benefit the most from social security and Medicare, I’m curious to see how this is gonna play with them.

On one hand, it’s clearly against their own interest. On the other hand, they are completely brainwashed by the right wing troll army so they may choose to dig their own grave anyway.

The owners, meanwhile, will continue not to care and will continue to laugh at them, and us.

The olds absolutely won't give up their SS and Medicare.  They feel they earned it, and a lot of those olds are absolutely terrified of losing their homes/trailers/whatever in old age.  A lot of them don't want to wind up as Walmart greets or receipt checkers.

And they show up to vote.

I guess I’m the only one who didn’t like the Chef show. I loved the movie. But the show fell short. It wasn’t bad. It was just meh. A show with little forethought about a Director and famous chef cooking random shit and inviting celebrities to jerk each other other off. And I like Favreau and Choy.

Go watch the Taco show.  It'll make you want to make a trip to Mexico.

On the subject of mom-and-pop shops, anyone remember Village Hobby off Anderson Lane (near Fuddrucker's and the Village Cinema across from Northcross Mall)? I imagine the shop is no more and the principals have long since passed, but it was my absolute favorite store to visit as a youth.

I was there within the last 10 years - not sure how long ago (want to say within 5 years, but can't remember), but I loved their train setup.  Shame they couldn't move over by Dragon's Lair and Terra Toys, they mighta had a chance.

In regards to your comments above, quality is the first thing I noticed - perhaps the market has shrunk and it's weeded out the crap and/or the market changed, and the younger kids/teens that would be doing the cheapo models are now doing LEGO, videogames, etc.  But I've been amazed at some of the kits out there.

Not that some companies aren't still making those cheap-feeling kits (And I'm aware that somebody is re-releasing the old Airfix kits or whatever), but I've seen a lot of quality stuff out there.

YouTube has to be a God-send for the hobby as well.

When I was a kid, a lot of times, it felt like I had to get what was available at the local hobby shop/Hobby Lobby/whatever, but now I can find just about anything and have it at the house within a week.

  10. It only applies to Europe,  and the companies involved have plenty of time to adjust, and in fact probably already had plans in the pipeline - they follow this stuff closely, and plan accordingly.    In this case, they've had 3 years to prepare for the outcomes.

With that said, most companies find it easier to adjust based on the more stringent requirements - I do some site management for a friend, and 95% of our traffic is American, but we easily added in all of the GDPR and made a few changes here and there on sites, just because it's a good idea.  Companies like Google and Facebook have massive teams that would have already had gamed these kinds of legal scenarios out and be ready when they get the deadline (or know how to stall in the courts).

Plus, we are in a weird time - a lot of sites are trying to avoid linking to Facebook and other platforms, or at least try to control more of it, because when you involved Facebook, there's a good chance that your visitors will end up on Facebook, and then have no need for your site.  Things like the "Like" button seem innocent and like you aren't really giving anything up to Facebook or passing visitors to Facebook, but if you have a popular topic with a lot of likes/shares, somebody will setup a Facebook page around it and try and pull your visitors away from your site and to their FB page, etc.

It's good to see these kinds of rulings.

What a pussy.  All of the evil shit he's done and a nickname is getting his jimmies rustled?  Snowflake indeed.

That evil shit is being put on display thanks to that nickname, so it's understandable that his jimmies are rustled.

Still think he's safe, but seeing how much this is picking up, in part thanks to the Putin ally wanting to sink hundreds of millions into Kentucky, makes me think that Moscow Mitch is going to enter Ted Cruz territory and have to actually sweat it out.

Sadly, this will just feed their beast. "You see, Ed?  I TOLD you them FBI agents aren't to be trusted!"

Free Republic and some of the other sites are claiming that the FBI is the untouchable Deep State.

They will never stop to think "what's the point of supporting Trump if he can't shut the Deep State down?"

  13. Holy Shit.   Holy Sheeit.

Some of you probably remember how Russian Ark was filmed in one single 96-minute take?  The entire movie, just one take.   I saw it at Dobie when it came out, so I know one of you types had to have as well.

And how the Michael Keaton film, Birdman, was edited to appear as one single take?

Apparently Mendes is actually trying to make it appear as one long single take.  The summary is "Two British soldiers experience one harrowing day while fighting in World War I"

Indiewire is reporting just one long shot, ala Russian Ark, but other sites are reporting more like Birdman.

Why? Bush was more in control of his people. He also didn’t rush into Iraq like an idiot and destabilize the region. The man experienced war (was shot down, and several of his fellow pilots were cannibalized by the Japanese) and lead the CIA.

Yeah, just 3 years removed from that last little part, which is the problem.

The people under him were doing this shit: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Condor

Not that things were all that better in ‘89, and we completely continued to fuck with South America in the 80s,  but I think the people he would, have had around him in ‘81 would have been a lot worse.

Is it wrong I was rooting for the cop to light her up again?

Is it wrong that a Trumpkin relative (older white female) posted this video on her Facebook feed and expressed outrage, and I posted “She had Trump bumper stickers, and I heard that cop targeted her for being a Trump supporter.  Why else would he pull a gun, and later taze  her over a tail light?”
