    — An illegal dam in the Texas Hill Country is being demolished following reports from KXAN. The dam, constructed along the James River in Mason County, was built in 2023.

Investigations from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) found the dam was constructed without permits.

Meanwhile, in western Mason County, a second dam has been located along Leon Creek. This dam was also built without permits, according to TPWD.

While water now flows on the James River, ten miles away at Leon Creek in Mason County, another illegal dam built in a remote area is restricting access to water. Photos taken last fall. provided to KXAN by landowners in Mason County, show a dam built along Leon Creek.

In September, my husband went to check the cattle and went down to where the creek goes into the Llano river. And the creek was only a trickle,” said Kerry Hormann, a landowner in Mason County.

Hofmann’s family has owned land along Leon Creek for more than a century. She said this is the first time it has stopped flowing. Neighbors living further upstream told Hofmann they had discovered a dam had appeared along the creek

    God I hate that guy.

I know a huge chunk of it is his desire to please Jess Yass and the West Texas assholss, as well as trying to get Trump to notice him, but I think a major part is he probably feels like life fucked him over, so he’s going to take his misery out on other people.

it’s really fucking nuts when you think about what Gary Hart did on the Monkey Business.

Yeah- had some good ideas but seemed like the girl shit all over them and ruined some of the pranks like the massage therapy one.

One of the folks involved said I think on Twitter that the massage therapy one had a noise issue with the mechanism (I’m guessing it’s an air cannon or compressor of some sort) and while it looked hilarious as hell, anybody standing there would hear it.  I’m sure they could have figured it out if they wanted to spend the time/money.

  5. The new prank show has some humorous moments.  Save yourself some time and boredom and fast forward to the end of the episode for the actual pranks.  I don’t even care if everybody was in on it, they were amusing.

    Spoiler

They should have tried to make the massage therapy blowing the guys head off work, but I get that the loud noise gave it away.

It's not just "social media", it's micro targeting to identify the young men most vulnerable to their message and then inundating them. The social media companies love it because they make money on the ad sales PLUS the increase engagement from the victimhood/rage posting.

It's the same playbook used by steve bannon to convert gamergate into a political power base, and it's the same ethos and messaging as peterson

I think a lot of us are saying the same stuff….I think the pandemic stuff took it to 11 because many young males who were out of school (high school or college) were all of the sudden physically isolated for quite a while and they weren’t around other men who provided a more positive role model, and were consuming this shit, and then you had young teen males also stuck at home consuming this shit.  Both groups (teens and early 20s) were very isolated and therefore vulnerable for a year or two.

They weren’t  binging healthy stuff like The Office, Seinfeld, Community, Game of Thrones, or Friends or whatever like everybody else.

Right, it’s like when I got my kids into the Meateater series, and man we all loved it until the neighbors livestock and pets started disappearing, and there were these weird pelts pegged out on my barn walls.

    And the Cocomelon series…holy shit.

Ill just say that there is something happening to young men that make then start following that group and believing their bullshit. Socially normal guys, dont fall into that BS

Social media in that instance, because that’s where the bullshit is spreading, and that desire for likes and to be accepted drives that shit and makes it easy.  These younger people can get wrapped up in a false social media image of what is presented as being a manly man or whatever.

I personally think it starts with kids being allowed to watch toy unwrapping videos on YouTube, along with the videos of adults trying to sound like kids and playing with said toys (all the while very adult hands are seen on camera manipulating the toys).  I think it puts those kids in an unrealistic and entitled mindset.  They get a dopamine hit from seeing new toys unboxed, and they end up going down that path of trying to see stuff that makes them feel good.

    Quote

In a shocking incident of personal rivalry, a man attacked another person with an axe during the Hanuman Jayanti procession in Bundi, Rajasthan, on Tuesday night (April 23). The blow from the axe was so severe that it left the victim unconscious and bleeding on the spot.

The purported video of the horrifying incident has now surfaced on social media. In the video, a woman can be seen dancing among seated men when a person suddenly emerges from behind the curtains wielding an axe and attacks the man wearing a white shirt. The impact of the axe blow was so forceful that it left the man unconscious.

Following the attack, chaos erupted in the area, and people scattered in panic. Reports indicate that the attacker, identified as Tejmal, fled the scene after the assault.

The injured man has been admitted to a private hospital in Kota, where his condition is currently critical.

    Quote

The victim's younger brother, Ranjeet Meena, a resident of Kodakya, has filed a case against the attacker, Tejmal Gurjar (45), who also resides in the same village.

I mean, we’ve all been in fights or arguments where we took a crowbar or baseball bat to somebody that pissed us off, but usually not with the intent to kill, just maim.  What could spur that kind of attack?

    Quote

According to Ranjeet, on June 18, 2023, Tejmal and his family were on their way to the temple when their tractor-trolley overturned due to a malfunction. During the incident, Tejmal's wife, Sanju, and Gobari Lal lost their lives. While Tejmal claimed it was an accident, he had resentment and subsequently carried out the violent attack.

Local police are currently investigating the incident, and efforts are underway to catch the accused.

But yeah, every fucking time. There I am, relaxing while sipping my Chai ready for some amazing entertainment and boom, another axe wielding skull cracker comes in crashing the party. So predictable.

Y’all are watching belly dancers in public????  Why wouldn’t you have them come to a hotel where you can lock the door, or better yet the cheap-ass apartment you rent in the bad part of town, that your family doesn’t know about, where you can secure the doors from anybody trying to enter or leave?

We don’t even know what all underlying issues could potentially lead to dementia - we do know that stress makes pretty much everything worse.
As for stress…fatfuck thrives in chaos - that’s not necessarily stress for him. But sitting in court with people talking shit on you all day and actual peasants (how he sees them) deciding your fate?  Thats maximum stress for this POS.  MOARRRR

And a lot of these witnesses are people whom he either employed or worked with and thought we’re loyal to him. While he believes he has the right to turn on people and throw them under the bus to save his ass, it clearly drives him crazy that these same people might throw him under the bus to save their asses.

Lets not pretend that porn was a rarity for young adults in the  late 80’s and 90’s.  Yeah it was a bit more effort to rewind Debbie does Dallas and maybe a few people didn’t have a VCR but it was readily available with not a lot of challenges.

Yep.  The porn fairy would hide the really good, hardcore stuff, in a box inside of a suitcase under some old blankets and behind another suitcase in the back of the closet in my friend’s parents’ bedroom.  Or hide the lesser stuff (Playboys) behind a dumpster out behind the local convenience store or in the drop ceiling of the 6th grade boys bathroom, or the locked file cabinet (easily picked) in the storage closet in my old pastor’s office at the church.

I've always wanted to get one of these for my Dachshunds to hang out in.

You can buy them.  $20 for one sized to 14-inch dolls with a sleeping bag and pillow, or if you need one that’s bigger and has a Coleman brand on it, $40 for one sized for 18 inch dolls. Check the customer images to see photos of dogs in them for better sizing.  And you can even buy miniature Coleman coolers, grills, lanterns, etc. if you want to make funny scenes for dog photos.

I got one for my daughter’s dolls, and my sister flipped out when she saw it so I got her one for her little terrier.  Nice thing is they fold flat for travel and you can actually use them outdoors as shade/sleeping area for your dog (they will blow away though, it’s like a kite, so put rocks in the bottom if your outside).

Perhaps his governing policy was like this earlier than I imagine, but Jade Helm 15 really sent him over the deep end. Whether Abbott believed in the conspiracy theories or not, he then realized the benefits of pandering to the far right.

I think his primary against Don Huffines really pushed him over the edge - he saw a bunch of money donated to a hard right primary challenger and I think it scared the hell out of him.
