As you can imagine I am a huge Bird fan and that dude would kill it in today's NBA. His only issue would be the shit talking that he would do would probably get him suspended and fined for making some players cry. To me, the below quote from Pat Riley says it all about Larry Bird.
"If I had to choose a player to take a shot to save a game, I'd choose Michael Jordan. If I had to choose a player to take a shot to save my life, I'd take Larry Bird." -Pat Riley

Scheffler needs to throw that putter in the ocean and get another one. It’s the only thing holding him back from winning a lot more tournaments as opposed to just finishing in the top 5.

I am just glad that with our country getting filled up with people that are meaner to each other and angry all the time it’s a good thing we allow the purchase of unlimited fire arms. Those two data points together should lead to some fun times in the future.

Loved seeing the old-school Rockets. So now we are jumping ahead to the next season I guess.
The Rockets game would have been 1981 I believe and the opening scene of this season at the Boston Garden was 1984 so I think so they have to get through 3 more years in the next few episodes to end the season where it started. Guess we will get lots of 76ers stuff the rest of this season also.

The exchange between Laszlo and Nadja below was fantastic.
Laszlo: The only hairy frog I'm interested in is between your legs my darling.
Nadja: It's not just the frog. It's the whole swamp!

I grabbed the last Russells Reserve 13 year at the Goody Goody near me today. I was forced into a bundle also but this was paired with a $8 bottle of red wine. The manager at the store was telling me how great the wine was and how bourbon drinkers love it. I told him when I drink red wine I stick to Silver Oak, Caymus or Opus 1 but will buy his wine to use the next time I need to cook with wine. I also went to Total Wine near me and grabbed a ECBP 9 year store pick or something like that. I wasn’t sure if those are hard to get or always on the shelf now but I couldn’t resist. Last purchase was a Redwood Empire Pipe Dream for like $35. I actually like the Redwood Empire as a cheap daily sipper for a lower proof bourbon.

I’m thinking of gettin me that grand piano. Just need to come up with $3 million dollars for it. I better check the couch cushions to see if I have that laying around.
I will say some of his artwork would be pretty cool to have but out of my price range.

I just won't connect through JFK again. That sounds easier than putting in a similar amount of planning as the invasion of Normandy.
I went through JFK at the beginning of July on my way to Iceland. What a shitty airport that was. I had a 5 plus hour layover to boot.
As far as American Airlines goes, I have had 5 flights on American in the last 7 days. One from Heathrow to DFW and then flights to and from New Orleans and Las Vegas. All 5 were delayed with some as much as 2 hours.

Got these two bottles today. Tea batch and Lumberyard batch of Bookers. Hope they are decent.

Lotus of Siam did not disappoint so thanks for the recs. Garlic shrimp was phenomenal and even enjoyed eating the fried shrimp shells. The crispy duck over noodles and curry sauce was great along with the sea bass over drunken noodles.

Taking the wife to Vegas on Saturday for her birthday to see Garth Brooks and staying at Caesars Palace. What the hell is there to do all day in Vegas if it is 120 degrees out. Also, going to go to Lotus of Siam for the first time. Any recs on what dishes to get?

Thought @closetojumping might get a kick out of Nahlin’s need to shit on his own subscribers with this passive aggressive dig when he announced his Simmons bump in confidence.

Looks like Ms. Scott is divorced. I’m happy to volunteer my services.
My reading comprehension may not be great but I’m pretty sure I saw she is divorced because she had a 3 way with Tom Herman and RGBIII.

I am down to a 11.5 handicap and I am so close to my goal of being a single digit handicap I can taste it. I shot an 87 today but for me I actually played well but blew up on a few holes (2 triples and 2 doubles). I had 9 pars which I thought was more than solid. If I could lose those blow up holes and make a few birdies that I missed (from like 5 feet) I could hit my other goal of shooting in the 70’s. I am sure next weekend I will throw up a 96 just to fuck with my head since that is what golf is all about.

"I have the best lawyer in Miami. He's such a good lawyer, that by tomorrow morning, you gonna be working in Alaska. So dress warm. Fuck the fucking Diaz brothers. Fuck 'em all. I bury those cockroaches. I just want what's coming to me. The world, Chico. And everything in it."
As long as he ends it by throwing a toothpick at the judge and then does this.

The craziest thing I saw while playing The Plantation Course was a guy I was playing with hit his drive about 240 yards up a steep hill. It hit the cart path and somehow started rolling back down the hill, down the cart path. I swear it took a minute and a half for the ball to roll all the way back down to about 5 feet behind our tee box just off the cart path. I have never seen a guy drive a ball that far and then have his second shot behind the tee box he just hit from. At that point we all laughed and started the flow of beer since we knew this was not a day to be angry about our scores.

Just got back from Maui and played the Plantation Course in Kapalua. Crazy hard especially with the 30MPH winds the day I played. I got a greens in regulation on a par 4 and triple bogeyed the hole by putting the lag off the green and down a hill and then chipping up and the ball landing on the green but still rolling back where I was standing at the bottom of the hill. The putting greens were ridiculous with everything towards the ocean being ungodly fast and everything the other way like putting on Velcro. Still had a blast and the views were spectacular.- 2

After the 91 yesterday I shot a 81 again today. 3 putted about 5 holes but did sink a few 10 footers so it kind of balanced out but still think I left at least 2-3 shots on the course which would have put me in the 70s for the first time if I had rolled in a few 4 footers that I missed.. Heading to Maui in a few weeks to play the Kapalua Plantation Course so hopefully I play well enough to enjoy it.

I shot a 81 last weekend which is my best score ever and felt I finally turned the corner with this sport. Yesterday at the same course I shot a 91 because golf sucks and and the game should be banned from this planet.

“Didn’t we talk about this before?” Dan Patrick asked Quinn Buckner on a 2018 episode of The Dan Patrick Show. “When you guys played the Chicago Bulls, first round of the playoffs, and you guys went out. It might have been you and [Rick] Robey. And you went out with Bird, and the Chicago Bulls cheerleaders bought you beers, figuring they could get Larry drunk. And then Larry lit them up, and then walked off the floor and walked by the cheerleaders and said, ‘Thanks for the beers.'”
