  1. The Sample curse got me so spooked, I thought they were gonna fuck up that snap.
  2. He bounced forward, but he should be down where he first landed.
  3. I’m sure this will be reviewed but I think that was the right call.
  4. This Collin Simmons is an absolute monster. Best player on a field of great players.
  5. Been a lot of bad games this week, but you knew this one had to deliver. All tied at 21 at the half.
  6. Was thinking the same thing. Dude barely got grazed.
  7. Also, Cook finished with 3 catches for 103 yards and a TD in that same game.
  8. For those who didn’t get to watch the game, Wisner had 135 rec yards, 75 rush yards, and 2 TDs in a state championship win. He mostly lines up in the slot. He’s an interesting case, had he stayed at Waco Connally, he would’ve been the star RB there and he probably would’ve kept his 4th star in the recruiting rankings. Instead he took a flex role on a stacked Desoto team and was a good team player. Talented but willing to be a team player is a pretty good fit for a 2nd take RB. I don’t know if Texas moves on from him or not, but I feel a lot more comfortable keeping him after watching that game.
  9. Yeah that sophomore already has offers from USC, Miami, Ole Miss, Oregon, aggy etc.
  10. Final: Desoto 42 Vandegrift 17. Desoto just beat the will out of that Vandy O-line. Vandy QB was getting ragdolled in that second half. Now Duncanville can complete the Southside sweep next, but they’ll have to break the Samples curse to do it.
  11. Watch the games. They line him up all over the place so they can get him and their stud Soph. RB in at the same time. He looks really good today at the state championship.
  12. At the very least, you can’t overturn that. It definitely was a horseshit call.
  13. Halftime Desoto 21, Vandegrift 10. Desoto is clearly the better team, this is really about them just not screwing it up, which is always iffy under Mathis.
  14. No surprise there. Wisner is actually playing pretty well in this state title game right now though.
  15. Is Vandegrift the reason Lake Travis isn’t as good? Or is it just happenstance?
  16. These blowouts aren’t happening because of enrollment numbers, they’re happening because regions 3 and 4 aren’t any good in some of these brackets. Both Carthage and Aledo played close games in the semifinals
  17. Divisions split before the season now for 1a-5a, it’s essentially the same as having brand new classifications. If you got rid of divisions and added two more classes, you’d actually be increasing the enrollment gaps in the postseason.
  18. Yeah, I think if he stayed an enthusiastic commit, the staff probably would’ve kept him, but they weren’t going to chase him and seems like he wanted to be chased.
  19. Lopsided bracket. Aledo had some tough close games to get here. This is going to end up being their easiest game all postseason.
  20. Yes he is, that’s why I said Cedar Hill lost the talent roulette this year. There is enough talent to sustain multiple schools in this area, but not quite enough for all of them, somebody is going to lose out. Suburban parents on the north side ain’t really in a rush to send their kids to South Dallas County, so the talent pool for these schools still comes from a surprisingly limited area, which means they can cannibalize each other. (Note: Duncanville basketball is an exception to this, them boys recruit statewide.) Desoto has a lot of really nice areas too, Cedar Hill’s demographics have not shifted much in the short time since McGuire left, they just lost the talent musical chair game this cycle. 6-10 years ago, Cedar Hill and DeSoto were really good and Duncanville wasn’t. That’s just how it goes.
