  1. Expecting him to change on his own is definitely not realistic. Hinch needs to give him some incentive to change.
  2. It was last season, either during a pre-game show or the weekly "Bases Loaded" type show. I remember thinking at the time "Wow, that explains a lot of things!" I was hoping that his problems from last post-season made him more open to constructive criticism, because he has obvious talent, but it doesn't seem there has been a change.
  3. No, Giles just needs to be a fucking professional. He shouldn't care if it is a "save situation" or not. Every appearance is one that the team needs him at his best. If he can't perform without the pressure of a "save situation" tell him that the starting pitcher, Bregman, and Reddick get to kick him in the balls once for every run he gives up. Every appearance now becomes a "save your balls situation". All three (Verlander, Cole, Morton) have shown an openness and humility that enabled them to buy in to the Astros pitching philosophy. Giles has expressed that he doesn't really listen to anybody's advice and that he knows himself better than anyone.
  4. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a fan of The Green Berets. And John Wayne made quite a few mediocre movies. But nothing remotely compares to The Conqueror.
  5. The story for tonight, they hit HR's and we hit into DP's.
  6. Reddick will be batting 6th tomorrow, JD Davis will be optioned down.
  7. I don't know how Keuchel would react to a move to the bullpen. The more likely move would be for him to feel a little "tweak" and go on the 10 day DL, followed by a brief rehab stint in Corpus.
  8. The Astros have mastered grounding into a double play, so they can stop practicing that.
  9. I think Jake should try bunting his way on, even with two outs.
  10. He was talking about the baseball gods being kind to the Longhorns. Nevermind, read that wrong.
  11. Yankees are talking about boycotting ESPN. USA Today article They are upset that ESPN is moving a Sunday game in Toronto from 1:00 to a night game, when they have a doubleheader scheduled the next day in Baltimore. The game isn't until July 8, so it might get moved back. MLB office and MLBPA are negotiating with ESPN.
  12. I may be completely wrong on this, but is operation of the Erwin Center under the Athletic Department, or under Physical Education? I know at some point it was under PE.
  13. And Green Berets is Oscar level filmmaking compared to The Conqueror.
  14. Or maybe I'm the one who came up with the brilliant endings to Seinfeld and The Sopranos.
  15. My only problem with the finale was the very ending. I would have ended it with Phil and Liz in their car alone right after crossing the border into Russia, not knowing what the future holds. Or the two of them standing in the middle of their bleak one room apartment, knowing that this is what they are stuck with.
  16. FX had quite a run with The Shield, Sons of Anarchy, Justified, and The Americans.
  17. I found this info at https://salaries.texastribune.org/university-of-texas-at-austin/departments/intercollegiate-athletics/positions/ It is from July 2017, when Perrin was still AD. Here are some of the positions and their median salaries. 23 Assistant AD's - $100, 742 12 Associate AD's - $144, 969 4 Executive Senior Associate AD's - $242, 899 3 Senior Associate AD's - $164, 932 2 Athletic Directors - $695, 417 1 Chief of Staff - $156, 080
  18. You should always answer the call, but don't hesitate to hang up.
  19. No, I think Jerky is even worse. I hate to think about what kind of things they might do for the seventh inning stretch.
  20. I hope he gets escorted out of the stadium.
  21. Yep, after updates the difference between #1 and #2 is greater than the difference between #2 and #8. Verlander surely is an outlier. The starters and their ranks: 1. Verlander 1.05 4. Cole 1.75 7. Morton 2.03 26. Keuchel 3.10 51. McCullers 3.63
