We renovated our bathroom last year and made the shower larger. Shower head points down so the water doesn’t spray over some parts of the shower.
Wife (coming out of shower): Can you look at the drain? It smells like pee. I think the pee smell is coming from the drain.
Me: Did you pee in the shower?
Her: Yeah. Why?
Me: Your pee probably splashed and didn’t get washed down the drain. Do you remember what you did?
Her: I don’t know. Can you just look at it? It smells bad in here!
(I proceed to take the hand shower and spray down the entire shower. No more smell)Me: There, no more pee smell. You need to aim better next time.***
*TONE*
*** is it even possible for women to aim?
At least the shower didn't smell like shit.

Nike needs to stop using so much black. It is not a school color, and with few exceptions, it ruins any gear for me, especially when it is heavily featured.

Quite a few, that's what made it a special year.
I have seen most of the celebrated films from 1939 more than once, so I suppose that you technically have a point. Nonetheless, I never find myself scouring TCM for guilty pleasure viewing options, and would definitely not want to be limited to that year's offerings if forced to choose. There simply aren't enough films from that year that resonate with me and many of my viewing moods would be missed entirely. I enjoy an occasional visit to Hollywood's golden era, but I would not want to live there for eternity.

God y’all are so young….
1939 is the greatest year in film history and it is not even close.
Look it up.
That's not the point. The full 1939 film catalog would pale in comparison to any of the last several decades. How many of those 1939 films are rewatchable? Sure, you get to watch a handful of the best films ever made, but that is all you get, and they are dated. I want films I can watch over and over, many of which are total crap if evaluated critically. I just want to be entertained, have a good variety of genres, and rewatch some of my personal favorites, even if they are pure shit.
There have been some really solid years offered, with countless films that I wouldn't hesitate to repeatedly watch. Here are a couple of others that I would personally consider.
2003
- Oldboy
- Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl
- Memories of Murder
- The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King

I'm pretty sure they will be a pretty big flop.
I concur. Primoz can no longer win stage races, and doesn't have the attitude to be a good domestique. Remco has a limited range of stages that suit him. He could evolve, but I'm doubtful that he has that in him. Florian is the most likely of the three to challenge for Grand Tours, but Bora would need to go all in on supporting him, and I don't see them doing that. I'm frequently wrong, so we'll see what happens.

No, that would be Robert Anakin Skywalker.

I get that. I just think maybe there was some acting. Maybe.
No.
Tadej is the best cyclist in the world currently, and possibly ever. That doesn't mean that he is capable of winning every stage that he wants. It's okay to admit that another cyclist was better on given day.

I hesitate to ask, but…
…how does the U.S. losing in the World Cup make things better in the long term vis-à-vis Donald Trump?
If Derka's response wasn't clear, he is advocating for the World Cup to be pulled from being hosted by the U.S. for political reasons, not for Team USA to lose in the competition.

Incidentally, Tadej let Wout have it.
While I think there were at least a couple of stages that Tadej could have won in this year's Tour, I don't believe that this was one of them. Wout is well-liked and respected, but all is fair in love, war, and cycling. Tadej very much wanted to win the final stage, and would not have gifted it to anyone.

The goal of the program should be to make the tournament every year, and have a legitimate chance to compete for the title. Having a home schedule that makes the fans happy doesn't necessarily preclude that, but when roster turnover is what it is, having easily winnable games in a friendly environment early in the season may further the cause more so than coin flip games against marquee programs. Miller having opportunities to experiment with lineups without having to risk losses is a beneficial thing. We will have plenty of games on the schedule to boost RPI and KenPom numbers.
I know many won't agree with this take, and I'm not even sure that I do, but I do see the logic in it, even if it isn't what I want. That said, there should be a way to achieve a happy medium where we can find a way to squeeze in a home and home with a blue blood.

What to Know
The three plurals for octopus come from the different ways the English language adopts plurals. Octopi is the oldest plural of octopus, coming from the belief that words of Latin origin should have Latin endings. Octopuses was the next plural, giving the word an English ending to match its adoption as an English word. Lastly, octopodes stemmed from the belief that because octopus is originally Greek, it should have a Greek ending.
I'm very much enjoying the pedantic language discussion!

I guess for me it is just a value proposition. I’m not asking for a murderer’s row of OOC games but it would be nice to feel like as ticket holders, we aren’t getting completely ripped off by paying thousands of dollars a pop for two months of games that probably have a value of $5-$10.
Probably a tired argument on my part…I just miss having early season games that bring an excited crowd/carry some crowd energy/excitement going into conference play. That's a completely different goalpost, and makes a much better argument.

I don’t think beating a bunch of teams ranked in the 300s does anything to help with seeding.
If only we played in a good conference to make up for that.

Jonas looks so, so good. Wonder if there is anything to the rumor Tadej is a bit under the weather. It did seem strange that given the legs he seems to have he didn't try to cement his legacy with a win on that iconic climb. Or, maybe - just maybe - he's starting to feel the effects of all the racing and knows there is more hard climbs ahead.
He may be feeling the effects of what he has already accomplished, but I think a lot of it is that he is simply riding with a little more maturity these days, likely under team direction. He has the gap he needs to win handily, and some of the toughest climbs are still to come. He can play defense the rest of the Tour. It's boring, but smart. That said, I wish he would go back to riding like a tireless kid and go for more stage wins.
-
Yep, sucked for Ben to not get the win, but major props to all of them being able to stay out front.
I liked Visma's tactics today, and they executed fairly well. Not getting anything from Yates, hurt, but it likely would not have mattered.

Old habits die hard. But Wout was pushing from the third group 2 min behind the winning move 12k out. Lunacy.
It was his kid's birthday. He wanted screen time.

Remember when other clubs would swoop in at the 11th hour and steal our transfers? It's so nice to be on the other side of that...one of the many indications we are back where we belong.
