  1. For some reason I thought Eva had a second idol. It may as well be though, as safety without power and an idol still allows her and Joe to both be safe at any given vote, assuming both are vulnerable.
  2. I'm disappointed. That should essentially guarantee Eva or Joe wins this thing, though I guess it's always possible that Kyle (lawyer) or Shauhin (debate professor) could make compelling arguments. I think last night's vote goes differently if everyone knows that Eva has a second idol, but they don't. While I'm still pulling for Kamilla, an outcome where she wins seems very unlikely at this point, and I think Mitch has even less of a chance. Eva misplaying her advantages is the only way that neither she nor Joe makes final tribal. She seems overconfident, so it is always possible, but it's almost to the point where she won't even need them. It would have been interesting to see how she would have reacted if Joe had been voted out. While the Survivor fan in me wanted that to happen, the people fan is glad that we did not have to find out, as I think it would have been hard to watch.
  3. The losing team hit a 3-pointer or made a free throw? Bullshit.
  4. Guess I have no threads to catch up on.
  5. I think that is where I am as well, but would still be okay with anyone but Jonathan.
  6. If he's so good, why is he a reserve?
  7. If I had a dime for every time this happened to me...
  8. With 7 left, this next episode should show us whether anyone actually intends to play or if they are all content to be nice and let others win. They all have to realize that the only way to beat Eva or Joe is for neither of them to make final tribal. With Eva having 2 idols, and both she and Joe being challenge beasts, that's going to be tough. Numbers alone won't get it done. It's going to have to be a blindside. I'm still on team Kamilla/Kyle, but they need to make their move if they are going to do so. Shauhin still has some game to play as well. Maybe the three of them team up with Mary and at least try to make something happen. Nothing against Mitch, but he is in a bad place. He can't beat Joe or Eva, and he won't do anything to try and eliminate them. We'll see if that changes, but so far, he hasn't shown that he has that in him.
  9. The remaining teams are pretty evenly matched, but Han and Holden seem slightly weaker than the others. Barring an episode of challenges that really suit them or major errors by another team, I'm expecting them to get eliminated next.
  10. I gave up on 300 paragon pretty quickly once I researched the math on how much time it would take. Repeatedly running Pits isn't fun. I finished Season 7 at 279. I did manage to get a build for each character class to Torment 4, and I did enough pits to get their paragon glyphs to at least L46. My Blood Wave necro was by far my most powerful build, doing 10s-100s of billion damage per cast, with occasional hits into the trillions. In spite of that, I never got higher than pit 140. The build I most enjoyed playing was a Fireball sorc, a great speed farmer who easily deals with most content. Choosing to get 6 characters to Torment 4 meant that optimizing any of them wasn't happening, and that was a conscious choice I made. I prefer the variety of creating different builds to grinding for incremental improvements for one. One benefit to doing all 6 classes is that I reached 100% on the Codex of Power for the season. I would have expected that to earn an achievement of some sort, but it didn't. I did check off a few achievements for classes that I had not previously used. Season 8 starts later today. It should be interesting to see how the boss powers function, and I'm looking forward to the reworked boss encounters in general. It looks like Bone Spear necro is at the top of the end game tier list on Maxroll for now, so I will likely start with that and see if I enjoy it. I will likely build another speed farmer as well, maybe a Lighting Spear sorc this time.
  11. Definitely. The cringey part was listening to Erika brag about how good they were are reading the clues. Oof.
  12. I appreciate it, but I've been building my own for over 30years. My first build had an i386. Putting it together is the fun part. I'm just a little in shock at the current GPU market. Yep.
  13. It was hard watching Melinda and Erika, knowing they were done. I was glad they would have lost regardless, rather than it coming down to reading the clue. That would have been a bad way to go out.
  14. That's a good build. I'm not sure I want to drop $1k on a GPU, but I could always compromise and get the regular 5070 and save a few hundred. Thanks.
  15. I would prefer to stay under $2.5k for everything. I'm essentially looking at the $2k build from Tom's. AMD CPU. Icy white everything. RGB yes. Current rig is showing its age, but I've shifted most of my gaming to xbox, so I haven't had a pressing need to upgrade. My pitiful 2070 was low end of the top tier when I bought it, which tells you how old this thing is. It's essentially a surly reading box at this point.
  16. Good. I'm feeling extra surly. I know it's only April, but I observe Festivus year round. I've got a lot of problems with you people.
  17. I'm going to cry if I have to keep reading this constant bullshit. Go to your corners and shut the fuck up.
  18. Okay, I need a new "anyone but..." I have dropped Mary from my rooting interest due to her annoying association with David, even if it was in her best interest at the time. I think the previews that show Kamilla forming a group of four with Mitch, Star, and Mary is a ruse, but we'll see. I know most are rooting for Joe/Eva. It makes for a nice warm happy story, but I'm still on team Kyle/Kamilla. On a side note, I'm reading that David's girlfriend left him after he got voted off. That is probably a good thing for him. I expect him to land on his feet and upgrade. He seems like a decent dude, but not a particularly good Survivor player.
  19. It certainly looks better than NOT sweeping them.
  20. No need for hyperbole here. It was 12,416.
  21. I've been getting the itch to build a new rig, but the current GPU market is keeping that on hold. I'm looking through the Tom's Hardware build guides, and all of them cost hundreds more than when they were written. It's crazy.
  22. What about his other 3 seasons as a Barnes assistant, including the year we went to the Final Four?
  23. I don't really have a problem with the first part. Scattering the hay, while unconventional, wasn't the issue. The fact that they didn't think to then walk over it in a systematic survey fashion is what doomed them. They had already given up, so it wasn't going to happen.
