  1. I'm not suggesting Bran should be helping now, just that they went to all that trouble to develop a character with a very unique skill set, and then do nothing with him. Why have him in the series at all? He may as well have died from the fall. They could have easily come up with other ways for the Night King to get south of the wall and for the truth about Jon to be known. I think he was destined for bigger things, but is a casualty of the rush to finish, along with so many others.
  2. I don't know why they didn't just lit him get killed by the undead. The bigger disappoint for me is Bran...such a wasted character.
  3. I wonder how much Starbucks paid for that product placement? I'm surprised we didn't see Jon munching on a bag of Doritos.
  4. Say it again....oh wait, you already have, twice.
  5. What does all of this shit have to do with firing Shaka Smart? I keep seeing this thread bumped, and it gets my hopes up.
  6. You forgot naked wimmens, but they don't show those so often anymore.
  7. I think Gavin has been playing very well, and would be fine with him winning. I'm still pulling for Aurora because I like an underdog, and no one seems to like her.
  8. After all the shit Leeds has been doing, fuck them. They can stay down.
  9. I'm assuming you meant "I’ll take 'Realism' and story development fans over 'Fast & Furious' frontrunners who gush over mindless action." If not, then I'm not sure what you are trying to say because it reads as though you are contradicting yourself. Going back to 'batin now.
  10. The stats differ slightly form your summary (Rick has twice voted with the majority since the merge), but I don't think it really changes anything. This is the number of times the remaining 6 have been to tribal, voted for the person eliminated, and voted for the person eliminated since the merge. I only counted the first vote for the week Lauren and Wendy split the votes and Wendy was ousted with the re-vote. Also, note that this is votes cast for the person eliminated, not necessarily a majority vote. Last week, for example, the majority voted for Rick, but Ron was eliminated. That is the only time that the majority vote winner did not get eliminated, so it isn't a huge factor. Tribals Elim Merge Aurora 7 4 4 Gavin 10 7 6 Julie 7 4 4 Lauren 12 9 5 Rick 11 5 2 Victoria 10 7 6 My assessment of Victoria's game play is considerably different, but that's okay. She is at least playing, and has indeed voted to send a lot of people home. I would not be upset if she ended up winning. The only two that I would not want to see win would be Julie and Rick. Julie because she has not done enough to control her own fate, and Rick because he has been eliminated. I also would not be pleased to see the other person who returns from exile win.
  11. "Dressed up like a douche" for me.
  12. It happens in pretty much every season, but I agree....unless it happens to a team I don't like.
  13. I'm not a fan of non-elimination legs, especially when it seemed like a fair fight across the board, but I thought the Vietnam episode was strong. I had a feeling it was going to be a non-elimination leg, but thought they might change their minds after the Afganimals moved out of last place near the end. I'm pulling for Team Fun.
  14. Probably my favorite Star Wars character. RIP, ya big fuzzball.
  15. Being able to come up with the correct question 99% of the time helps a great deal with the wagering, but a lot of it is confidence. Being a professional gambler really helps with that. Holzhauer understands the odds and is accustomed to risking it all, or most of it. I remember a situation early in his run where one of his opponents was sitting at about $10,000, to his $30,000 when she landed on a Daily Double. This was more than halfway through Double Jeopardy, so it was essentially a do or die scenario. She risked $1000. I see that sort of thing regularly. It may be coincidental, but it is most often a woman doing it. Finishing with a respectable dollar amount seems more important to some than actually trying to win. Weird.
  16. I think you are undervaluing Devens. He has a lot of fans on the jury. There is a big gap between the men and women, and the latter could be in any order, though I think you have Julie in the right spot.
  17. Yep. I'm not a Devens fan, but am even less of a Ron fan, and love it when smug "I'm controlling the game" asshats find out that they aren't. He already learned that lesson once this season, but was unfortunately not eliminated for it. Without knowing who is going to return from Exile Island, Devens has to be the favorite to win at this point. I would never vote for someone who has been eliminated, but I doubt the other players share my opinion. Victoria is playing a dangerous game where she likes to initiate or go along with a blindside, but then votes with the other side to cover her ass if it doesn't happen. Wheelhouse aside, I don't like that game play at all. I'm glad to see that Lauren is at least thinking about doing more than trying to win challenges. It's about time, but unless she steps it up, it will be too little too late. Julie? I'm looking for some reason to appreciate her game, but...meh. I can see her being taken to the final three as a "person who can't possible win." Gavin is playing, and playing well. If he had more personality, I'd like his chances more. It shouldn't matter, but it's a social game, and it makes a difference. I don't know what it is, but I find myself still pulling for Aurora. I don't always understand her strategy, or more accurately I don't always think she has one, but she certainly owns her game, and isn't trying to win by making friends. I can at least respect that.
  18. I think he is referring to Theon swinging the bow at wights when he was out of arrows. I don't know why this would be a sticking point. We have seen over the seasons that wights can be taken out with conventional weapons, but they would only be mostly dead, and could be re-raised by the Night King. I don't think Theon would stop to think about the consequences at that point.
  19. Look, no one is saying the episode was without flaws, and that the writing hasn't been as tight as HBO attempts to cram two season's of content into six episodes. It's just that fans of the show don't like to constantly read negative shit about something they love. It's not your opinions that are the problem. It's how you present them. You completely ignore all the good things and only focus on what you didn't like, as though there were no redeeming qualities in the episode at all. And then you repeat it, and repeat it, and repeat it, and repeat it, and act like we only aren't agreeing with you because it is you. Are you able to keep a straight face when you call out other posters for being intolerant of differing opinions? You are Steven A Smith. There can be a lot of truth in the things you say, but the message gets completely lost in the delivery, and I'm switching over to the tampon commercial on Lifetime rather than listening to that shit. Let me put it another way. Pretend Game of Thrones is Rick Barnes.
  20. While I'm generally a fan of the job he has done, the cinematographer can kindly eat a bag of dicks on this one. No other episode has required high end devices with precisely calibrated settings in order to be able to follow the action. It's not an insignificant percentage of viewership that is complaining. I did watch the episode in the dark out of necessity, but if I want a full theater experience, I'll go to an actual theater or at least to a Surly one percenter's house.
