  1. You are tying your optimism to a player who did well in a game that we lost? Spiffy! I hate to break it to you, but we only get a win if we have the most points at the END of the game.
  2. No, it would not have been better if Rob and Sandra had been integrated into the tribes. You are correct in that the best option would have been to leave them out entirely. I keep hoping that the boat driver gets lost on the way to the island.

Would the Dynamo give them up? I think San Antonio makes the most sense if the Bold is a non-starter, assuming NYC can be persuaded to find someone closer to them.
  4. Also, what worked for Rob and Sandra years ago likely would not work now. There are just way more good players now who are willing to take risks and make big moves and hunt for idols. Sandra's strategy might get her far, but someone would out her for her "behind the scenes manipulation" bs and blindside her.
  5. It means that the producers really fucked up with the twist this season, and that I am more certain with each episode that I am going to hate next season even more than this one.
  6. That's exactly what happened. Once Jamal grabbed the note, he lost his vote...stupid lame shit that is a result of trying too hard to make Island of the Idols meaningful. It would not have made any difference in the outcome of the vote, so at least there is that. Whether the ridiculous legacy "advantage" given to Dean impacts anything remains to be seen.
  7. "Look at Survivor...see how edgy and relevant we are? LOOK AT US!! LOOK AT US!!" Dan is a smarmy piece of shit. He and his enablers sicken me. I've lost all respect for Missy and Elizabeth. Fuck Dean for not telling Kellee she was being targeted after she saved his ass, but at least I can respect the play. Aaron is an oblivious idiot. Why the hell do they keep targeting Karishma? Zero threat to win immunity, and even less of a threat to win the game. I didn't always like his preachy preachy, but Jamal is good people. I wish him well. All aboard Team Janet, which likely means she will go home next.
  8. I love a well deserved "I told you so" as much as the next guy, but you need to work on the timing. Three games into the season is just a teeny bit premature, much like your experience with South Austin's mom. Feel free to come back in March and tell us so again.

  10. Do we need to start a collection for a banner?
  11. As a privileged white male, it is my prerogative to do whatever I like, and to absolutely feel no guilt or shame about that.
  12. I do not think Kellee's annoyance was sincere. She was in full blown Academy Award mode at tribal.
  13. Pfft...there is absolutely no time to air strategic conversations. They can barely fit in all the heavy handed social commentary and irrelevant island of the Idols time as it is. At least one Island of the Idols visit eventually led to the strongest move of the season so far. Kellee is playing a masterful game, and she has earned my vote for the time being. Janet and Missy have also been strong. More good game play, less Rob and Sandra, and no more social commentary, please.
  14. No harm in dreaming, I suppose.
  15. Who could Arsenal realistically get in the middle of the season to replace Emery? I can't think of an available name that would get me excited. Is there a precedent for manager poaching during the season?
  16. I would just use Google calendar for that.
  17. Nope. Little Debbie Oatmeal Pies and a few snack crackers.
  18. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Have you all given up?
  19. You don't think Touchdown Jesus Christ can hit a curve ball?
  20. No no no, didn't you get the memo? You are supposed to have sympathy for Karishma, and pull for her to do well. <production meeting> "I know, let's focus on the person who has zero skills in challenges, contributes nothing at camp, is not entertaining in any way, but has a personal story that we can spin as some sort of oppression thing, even though it was completely her choice to go along with it." <\production meeting> I can't find anyone I want to even make the merge, much less win. This is one of the worst seasons they have had in a long time ever.
  21. Yep. Having Applebee's is one thing, but the reaction was way over the top. There must have been some sort of monetary motivation involved. And they are already phasing out Island of the Idols in the editing...I'm shocked, I'm stunned.
  22. It seems like the harder they try to come up with some fresh gimmick, the more it falls flat, and they end up giving it minimal inconsequential editing. I think the producers were likely caught off guard when visiting the Island of the Idols turned out to be way more of a disadvantage than a plus. Rob and Sandra won years and years ago when it was a different game. Their tests and advice don't seem at all in touch with the way the game is currently being played, and it even got Vince sent home. Why does the visitor not get to choose the lesson? And as others have said, why on earth do these master manipulators not advise the visitors how to spin a convincing explanation that won't lead them to getting voted out? Being a convincing liar is still a useful skill...put it to use. On the plus side, it was funny as hell watching Noura completely fail. The show has certainly changed over the years but the self-unaware survivor is still comedy gold. Also, that's two contestants in a row who have gone home holding an idol. More of that please. You may be right about the producers not caring who wins. Why should they? There's no need to keep viewers tuned in for another week at that point. That said, if you don't think the producers are manipulating the game to keep entertaining or polarizing personalities in play, then I finally know the surly avatar of this guy.
  23. Maybe it happened off screen, but why wouldn't Vince and Elizabeth compare notes about the Island of the Idols? It's stupid to target someone just because they went to the island and might have an idol unless they considered Vince a legitimate threat to win, which should not have been the case. Fuck the island. It doesn't give you an advantage; it makes you a target. What did Karishma say to the women before the vote?
