  1. Not much. Tadej is perfectly capable of winning this thing without much team support. If he weren't already in yellow, then it might be a different story, but he can ride defensively, following wheels the rest of the Tour. UAE won't do that, of course, and will still plan attacks on the stages that suit him. There just won't be as many of those.
  2. Check that your NICs on the PC are actually enabled in Device Manager and that they are configured for DHCP and don't have preset IP addresses. Did ethernet on the PC ever work from your office? The problem could be any number of other things, but this are fairly easy to check. It is likely that the office ethernet may be configured with DHCP reservations or some other means of restricting device access to the network. In other words, if it doesn't recognize a device, then it won't give it a valid address. Offices often do this when they don't wany any schlub off the street connecting a random device to the network that might be infested with cybercooties. Just stick with wifi. For Surly surfing, it should be fine.
  3. Does anyone know if there is anything wrong with Sepp? Is it his job to shadow Primož or something? Saving him for the big mountain stages?
  4. How many interpreters are we going to need on staff?
  5. Then you should have said MIT instead of Harvard.
  6. The divorce thread is over there >
  7. Yep. Barring injury, the only way Tadej doesn't win it is if he pushes his limits one too many times or mismanages his food intake. Even then, he has the luxury of being able to make more mistakes than the other riders and still be able to make up lost time. I'm hoping to see some American stage wins this Tour. I think Neilson is the most likely due to team dynamics. Matteo and Sepp are certainly capable, but unless something happens to Jonas, I expect them to be working for the team. No worries, you aren't the only one who does this.
  8. If it's able to take off from the treadmill before it melts, i will consider it a success.
  9. Have a little tidying to do, but it's alive.
  10. It is an efficient and quiet performer, and I thought the extra room would be nice to have.
  11. Pro tip: If using a SFX PSU in an mid-ATX build, check the length of the included cables. Build is on hold while I await my PSU replacement. Note: I am not a pro.
  12. The Lian Li LANCOOL 217 comes loaded with 5 fans, including twin 170s up front. Reviews say they are quiet and perform well, but if I find out otherwise, I can always replace them. Top exhaust will be handled by the AIO CPU cooler.
  13. It's like Christmas in June. Now for the fun part.
  14. That's a bummer to hear about problems with G.SKILL, as I ordered some Ripjaws for my new build. They are going in a mid-ATX with good airflow, and the two modules will have an empty slot between them, so I imagine I will be okay. I'll find out soon enough.
  15. He had a few good moments, "few" being the key word there. I guess it doesn't serve any purpose to hold on to players who aren't likely to ever live up to their potential.
  16. I'm trying to decide how to feel about Partey leaving.
  17. I agree with that, though unless I need peripherals, I'm usually closer to $2000-$2500.
  18. I assume you meant Fractal Era 2? All this SFF talk makes me wonder if I should have gone in that direction. My highest priority other than an acceptable level of performance is near silent operation, and I've always assumed SFF would run hotter, and thus louder.
  19. There is no such thing in the GPU marketplace. You can kick around the idea of upgrading piecemeal versus building anew, but we all know how this is going to end. On something that old, everything is a chokepoint, which means you'll never get the full benefit of any upgrades.
  20. In real world practical use, the difference between CL30 and CL36 DDR isn't noticeable, and I did not feel that it was worth the added expense. I prefer the look of Corsair Vengeance but it wouldn't really be visible once it is installed.
  21. After sitting on the fence for a couple of months, I went ahead and bit the bullet. I changed my aesthetic and decided that this will be a minimal RGB build, but gave myself the option on some components. I also scaled back slightly on the GPU, while splurging a little bit in other places. I wish I had bought the 5070ti a couple of months ago, but the RX 9070 XT isn't that much of a downgrade, and is the best value going right now. For my use, it will be more than adequate. I don't need a lot of storage, so the one drive should be fine, and I have two Samsung SSD 970 EVO 1TBs in my current rig that I can use for rotating backups. Everything should arrive by next weekend.
