  1. Let’s be honest: JD won’t be doing much sleeping on that couch.
  2. Dems should flood Facebook, Truth Social, gun shows, and MAGA rallies with codes and Bible verses implying that Trump is the antichrist. Confuse these dumb fuckers into apathy. It’s not like it’s unfair, since the right has been using imaginary coded messages and prophecy bullshit to firm up Trump support for years. You have to speak to these idiots in their own dumb language. It’s a two-pronged strategy. Call Republicans weird to earn votes from inattentive centrists, while feeding MAGA weird shit to dampen their enthusiasm.
  3. More like Blech-sit, amirite?
  4. Close. “Free speech” means no fact checking. It’s a constitutional right to never be told you’re a liar or an idiot.
  5. Wow. Topspin gets credit for the goal there.
  6. Who’s our right wing? She’s been impressive.
  7. Dammit. Cant let Germany have the ball in our end for that long. I counted three turnovers by Horan in that run of German possession.
  8. Lavelle is our smartest player by far. The straw that stirs the drink, imo.
  9. I’ll give it to the French. That might have been the best treatment of a dorky throuple hookup I’ve ever seen in an Olympics opening ceremony.
  10. In my medical opinion, JD Vance is just an asshole.
  11. Your ideas are intriguing to me and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter.
  12. Given Vance’s strong conservative Christian views on sexual and reproductive morality, I’m guessing it was a pull-out couch.
  13. Meanwhile, Trump is the CRT candidate. Convicted thiRty-four Times.
  14. Bingo. And also a massive indictment of the American electorate, which votes for style over substance.
  15. The finale was great, but I also enjoyed the entire season. Much of the satire was too on-the-nose, but subtlety is nearly impossible when satirizing the blatantly absurd.
  16. Put. Pimphand. On ignore. He’s by far the dumbest asshole on a site chock full of dumb assholes, and none of us want to read his stupid horseshit.
  17. I fear it’s too late. Biden should have stepped down before the primaries, and spent the last 3 years promoting potential replacements. Were four months out from the election, the primaries are done, no one can settle on who the replacement even should be. It’s just way too fucking late to pull this off.
  18. Why do you assume Democratic voters approach politics like Republicans? The two parties have sorted on IQ / sanity lines at this point. The dynamics are totally different between the two now. Booed Mitch McConnell and banished John McCain out front shoulda told ya.
  19. Thats not all that matters at all. If it was, the GOP would have dropped Trump in 2020 and the Dems would have pushed for someone other than Hillary. Politics is far more multidimensional, involving various overlapping constituencies with different and often opposing priorities. The timeline for and the process by which leaders are chosen are completely different in politics compared to sports. And politics involves a deep feeling of having a say in the outcomes, and an expectation of transparency and fairness. This “politics is just sports fandom” analogy is really half-assed. It’s lazy thinking. Democratic voters aren’t all going to get jazzed to vote because the party jams some new candidate down their throats. No matter who it is, there is some bloc that won’t approve and others will feel like the primaries and whole process were a sham. This isn’t fucking football. But go on with your fantasies of the magic candidate swap bullet. For the sake of our country, I hope it doesn’t backfire like I fear it will.
  20. Politics is not college football. I mean the dynamics are not even remotely comparable.
  21. Team “Biden should quit” don’t seem to realize the risks. It’s not even remotely all upside. Remember 2016, when the perception that the party had rigged the primaries to favor Hillary over Bernie led to lackluster November turnout? Trump beat that drum repeatedly and it was fucking effective. And in that case, Hillary actually won more delegates in the primaries. The “rigged convention” spin will be much easier here. No matter who gets the nod, there will be some sizable faction of Dem voters who won’t be happy. And Trump and the media will tell them over and over and over again that the Dems rigged it and appointed a hand-picked puppet through a secret, undemocratic, backroom deal. I get the concerns about Biden. But if he steps down, it’s going to be a PR nightmare to maintain enthusiasm and turnout. This is a real clusterfuck and there’s no magic wand that will fix it.
