  1. Something like that. Jenny Carlson kinda had it coming though, it really was a bs article.
  2. Mediocrity plus the rise of the football program. When I was in school (2000-2004) basketball was king and football was a side gig. The All Sports pass got you into all sports including football but basketball was a significant extra cost. I think it's reverse now. Football got good just as basketball got bad, I think that's the primary culprit. Travis Ford put the nail in the coffin when he couldn't do shit with Marcus Smart on the roster for two years. Attendance wasn't bad during Cade Cunningham's year so it can come back if we can ever see some extended success. The Thunder certainly are a factor but even if all OSU fans in OKC were committed only to the Thunder there are enough fans in Tulsa to fill GIA if we could get in the top 25 routinely and make tournament runs.
  3. If Lutz doesn't work out he can take the Sutton reitrement tour in Stillwater (minus the booze).
  4. Is Quaid still alive?
  5. Oh hell yeah, totally in on opening day.
  6. Sounds like a good way to become an elected official in Texas, which office is he gonna pursue?
  7. Fucking clown show. It's gonna get to a point where casual fans won't know whose playing for what in any given weekend. Win and advance is easy to comprehend. Not so much "the top two teams of the conference have received a bye and the next four teams will be seeded 3-6 and will play for a chance to receive an automatic bid to the playoffs but the losers can still receive one of the 3 at large spots if they can convince the committee that their loss was close or that they had a strong out of conference schedule, then once the playoff teams are selected, the seeding will be based on where each ended up in their repsective conference standing and tie breakers will be determined by who Kirk Herbstreit thinks is best using the eye test but can be overturned if Paul Finebaum speaks louder or if his callers agree with him . . . . . . . . . . .
  8. With respect to ratings and broadcasts I think college baseball is a good example. It’s not very popular ratings wise for reasons I can’t explain. I love it and ESPN+ is the best thing that’s ever happened for college baseball, softball too. I watch both way more than MLB and NBA. There’s room for all of it in the streaming environment.
  9. I’d add that conference championship games are going to continue to be a problem. If you go to 16 that makes up the revenue from the CCGs. Award the conference trophy based on tiebreakers.
  10. It’s so goddamned simple to me. It’s always been an “invitational” and is unavoidable the way CFB conferences are set up. If it’s 16 the 5 highest ranked champs are in and just seed them straight up like CBB. If it’s 12 the 4 highest rated champs get a bye and seed the “play in” contenders (including the 5th highest ranked conference champ), then reseed for the second round and go from there. And no need to reserve spots for conferences, BIG and SEC will always get the majority of spots which is fine. Stop overthinking this shit.
  11. What kind of made up bs is that? Average NHL salary is $3.8M. NHL players on average makes more in 3 games than WNBA players do all season. I’m fine with that considering ratings and revenues. The conversation is that it’s becoming more popular which is good. It will never come close to the major men’s sports and again, I think that’s fine. With all the streaming networks now there’s room for pretty much every sport to be broadcast and increase interest. If you don’t like it don’t watch, I’m talking about people who just have to come out and criticize that these games are broadcast at all.
  12. Like soccer, WBB has risen dramatically in popularity. That's not to say that either will ever be a "huge thing" but they don't need to be, it's good that they are improving in their level of interest. Comparisons to NFL, MLB, NBA, CFB, and MCBB is unfair and unnecessary. Neither have to reach that level to be formidable in interest and viewership. I'm happy to see WBB becoming more popular. I've tuned into a few games and have been impressed with some of the crowds.
  13. Lol, i'm sure you were equally appalled every time over the last decade that people blamed trans people for rape in batrooms and hurting girls in volleyball tournaments. That's lazy as fuck, go ahead and bury your head in the sand, you stupid ignorant fuck.
  14. The reference was specifically to social media comment sections where the vast majority of the criticism is CR misogyny and cries of "woke." That's specifically what I was responding to, but even your post, why? What's the point? Yeah, it's a different game than the mens, its less athletic, more airballs, etc. I just don't understand the compulsion some have to be so specifically critical of the women's game whether the motivation is CR or otherwise.
  15. He jizzed on the table, pretty sure there was some sexual fetish going on too.
  16. Not good enough, they have to tell you how much they suck, and most of the time they'll throw in some CR buzzwords about why it's being broadcast more these days.
  17. I hope the, um, darker toned players don't agravate him, lol. JK, sounds like fun actually.
  18. Agree, the family restroom has a particular purpose, which I utilized when my daughter was too young to go by herself but old enough to know that there was a girls and boys room and didn't want to use the boys room with me.
  19. We're living in a world where plane crashes and bridge disasters are blamed on diversity initiatives, so kindly go fuck yourself, slorch, for questioning whether a decade of the majority political party accusing trans people of raping kids in bathrooms and all sorts of other heinous shit might have played a fucking role in emboldening a buch of shitheads to torture a trans person.
  20. What kind of dei was this? Black? Brown? Blind and armless?
  21. It's going to be more popular than ever going forward but will have a ceiling, which is fine, better is always better. I've been at my neighborhood brewery and more than once someone has come in and asked for the TV to be put on a women's game. Of course, like everything these fucking days, it's also already part of the CR culture wars. It can't just be if you like it watch, if you don't like it then don't watch. A bunch of raging assholes just have to use every outlet they have to not just not watch but to shit all over it and say how bad it is and us all the CR terminology about it being broadcast as if they can't just turn it to another channel (as mentioned by @Helobious above). With ESPN+ there's room for everything to be broadcast, i saw rock skipping and corgi races yesterday as part of ESPN's "the Ocho" marketing. If you don't like it, just don't fucking watch, I wish it was still that fucking simple.
  22. Cowgirls walkoff lady aggy.
