A kid that young looking comes to your door in the daylight, just be a man for once and assume he's amazon, selling some shit, getting a petition signed, whatever

You're asking a lot from the people I see on here that won't answer their phone if they don't know the number. You think they're gonna get up and answer the door???

As the father of twins, I'm a little perplexed by the "Younger twin brother" statement. Who says that? I never have.

  2. Slowly making progress on my '79 Camaro. I got my seats installed, that wasn't too bad. I have the carpet but I held off trying to put that in because I wanted to see how my "Tall Person" seat extension brackets would work. Turns out they work great, so I can do the carpet later. My brand new seat belts that Ebay "Guaranteed" would fit...did not. It wasn't even close. But I went to the salvage yard and got one for $9.00, so that took away some of the sting.

After that, I finally got to take my wife on a short cruise. She's only somewhat scared to ride in it, lol.

Texas is in the minority when it comes to annual vehicle inspections….

It's just a money-making scheme for child safety. Because they damn sure don't use it to fix roads and bridges.

It was so much bullshit. When we had inspections in Oklahoma, it was $5 and the shop got to keep around $1 of that. But since it was such a waste of manpower, you got the lowest guy on the totem pole to do your inspection. So the idea that it was going to "Keep people safe" was a joke. Like Jethro, the HS dropout was the one man keeping unsafe cars off the road. Unless it was his buddy/family member/some hot chick. It was mostly a tax on the poor. "Oh, your tires are too bald,, no sticker and no driving until it gets fixed. What's that, now you can't drive to work to get money to fix the tires? Too bad, poor guy. "

anyone else's wife constantly startled by their presence? If I'm walking downstairs in the morning to get coffee I sing or hum as I'm going down the stairs so she doesn't throw whatever she is holding at the shock of me appearing out of thin air. I'm sitting in my office right now, which is where I am most weekdays at this time. She just walked by and let out a startled gasp when she saw me from the hallway.

If I happen to walk silently into the room and catch her off guard, she recoils and gasps "OMG you scared me!". If I try to make some noise to announce that I'm en route to her location, I get "OMG I heard a noise and I was like what's that and it freaked me out!".

Man I'm glad my wife and I both agreed that cards were stupid before we got married.

My wife and I will show each other a card when we happen to be at the store. "Happy birthday, look at this funny card". Then we put the cards back and move on. She thinks it's great, I lucked out.

I'm a firm believer in the idea that couples can make any financial arrangement work for their relationship but separate accounts is like anal sex to me. If other people are into it, cool, but I just can't understand the appeal at all. I don't have any money. We have all the money. Marrying a woman who wasn't stupid about money was a priority.

My sister dated her husband (now deceased, RIP to my BIL) for several years before they got married. When I asked why they keep waiting, she said in her first marriage, she and her husband fought about money and that she "didn't want any man telling me what to do with MY money ever again". I thought that was fair. But then she also admitted that she had " A LOT" of credit card debt that he was unaware of. To his credit, they got married and my BIL got that shit paid off.

Late to the party, but the Rose Bowl, from a historic perspective, is already dead.    CFB expansion and USC moving to the Big Ten have nuked any chance of it being stand-alone bowl with any significance or relevance.

They should make the Rose Bowl the permanent B10 title game host. Treat it like a mini super bowl. Nice weather, fun trip for the players. Sure, USC could reach the game and get a home field advantage but I doubt it would happen enough to make it an issue.

'We' need to stop doing stupid shit on the internet and fucking with people who are minding their own business.

Exactly. IDGAF if guys want to jump off of their roof into a pool or strap a buch of firecrackers to themselves and set them off, on their own property. Just stay the fuck away from people when you do this shit. I don't want to be a prop in some asshole's comedy routine.

  9. Our HVAC guy came to do the spring check-up, as usual. I had the checkbook ready but once again, I got all flustered when I had to fill the damn thing out. I don't write checks often enough and I kept double checking everything, plus my pen died halfway through filling it out and it made me feel like a moron. I know he doesn't give a shit but I fucking hate it.

And no, independent tradesmen in Oklahoma ain't taking your venmo or whatever the fuck apps you'd prefer to use to pay them. This ain't Dallas, buddy. Write a check.

Broken Arrow and Owasso have some nice neighborhoods around Tulsa, and there's a ton of nice development in Bixby.  I'm down south in Glenpool bordering Jenks and Bixby.  Jenks is doing some major development on the riverfront to create a water recreation area as well as expanding and improving the waterfront entertainment district.

I love the feel of Tulsa.  They hang on to the Route 66 retro vibe and the downtown is nicely revitalized with modern establishments.  It has AA baseball, ECHL hockey, and a new indoor football team.  Between the BOK center and the casinos, tons of music and comedy acts make their way through town.  The Tulsa Performing Arts Center has a great schedule of events (Symphony, Opera, Ballet, Theater).

There are plenty of Sooners around, but it's almost equidistant from Norman and Stillwater, so it feels like neutral territory.  I like being 20 minutes from downtown and still having the peace associated with being surrounded by cow pasture and horse farms.  Bottom line... I'm super happy with our choice to move here from San Diego.

My buddy lived in a shitty part of Tulsa and finally had enough. He moved his family to Skiatook and loves it. He's pretty hick-ish, so it's right up his alley, he tells me.

  11. I live in OK, have a CCL. I used to carry to and from work, as I drive through some shitty areas, but after my work schedule got change to WAH part time, I just sort of forgot about carrying. I got used to rarely going anywhere. My 9mm is in my nightstand, haven't touched it in months. Also have a 12 gauge in the bedroom closet. I think open carry is retarded.

you forgot getting pissed in the face while changing a diaper

I never had that, but I did get a stream of diarrhea that shot over the fresh diaper I was about to use and landed on my pant leg. Not a drop hit the floor, I was both sickened and impressed.

Could we get just a little more detail on this issue

Guy A owned the car, he sold it to his brother, Guy B. They never bothered to switch the title over. I bought it from Guy B. He gave me the title (out of state) and I followed the steps listed on my county's website (not in TX, BTW) and got my ducks in a row. Had to get a court order that told the state to issue a title in my name. The judge thought the steps her county provided weren't enough and kept trying to add extra shit. I finally pushed back enough to where she left to ask another judge his opinion on it. She came back 10 mins later and gave me what I wanted, meaning she could've had this wrapped up over a month ago. Fucking ridiculous.

  14. It's a long story so I'll cliff note it: After three fucking months, including two trips to court (fuck judges and their dumb shit BTW), I finally got the damn title for my Camaro. I dropped it off at the shop yesterday to get the front end looked at and a couple of other little things. Got some new seat belts ordered. Things are finally progressing, a little bit at a time.
