  1. Not the best picture, but this cheeseburger soup slammed hard. 1lb of ground beef 1/2 of chopped celery 1/2 cup of shaved carrots 1/2 cup of diced onion 2 cups of diced potatoes 3 cups of beef or chicken stock 2 cups of milk Can of Cream of Mushroom Can of cheese soup 12-16 oz of velvetta splash of Worcestershire salt pepper tony’s cajun seasoning. cook beef and pull from pot. Add your celery, onion, and carrot. Sweat down. Add beef, broth, and potatoes. Bring to a boil for 10ish minutes. Add the cans of soup, velvetta, and milk. Combine. Add salt, pepper, Tony’s and Worcestershire to taste. Mine was a bit thin, so I added a corn starch slurry to thicken it up. Easy and cheap. Tastes even better after a day or so.
  2. Bill is a super nice dude. Have known him for quite a while. I’m a big KJ Adams fan the rest of the year. I’m sure the basketball court is a nice distraction.
  3. 2024 Golf Trip Itinerary booked: June- Bandon, have been once right when Sheep Ranch opened. August- Northern Ireland/Liverpool, flying to NI, playing Portrush and County Down, flying to Liverpool and playing Birkdale, Royal Liverpool, Royal Lytham and St. Anne’s, and driving south for Sunningdale. Potential for a Streamsong trip In September, but the wife may kill me.
  4. I didnt know people got out of the maximum security prisons in Florence. Must have been a bad dude back in the day.
  5. Well to her, I ruined thanksgiving by bringing a dessert that upstaged her average pecan pie. Since she tossed the awesome dessert in the trash i during her hissy fit, I decided to go full petty and make a pecan pie that is infinitely better than hers for dinner the next day. Just to stir the pot. The green chili pecan pie was a hit and was finished. Her pecan pie was about 1/2 eaten. She wouldn’t talk to me after. Consider this a victory.
  6. Different side of the family. Unfortunately, the former and current president’s have adamant supporters on both mine and my wife’s side. I guess that’s what makes this thread tick.
  7. My green chili pecan pie slammed too hard. MIL went to the basement and refused to come up. Now the wife is mad that I made it because now her mom is crushed. While this was going on, my wife’s cousin (who runs a sustainability program for a major state organization in a state not touching Texas) got frustrated at my wife’s MAGA uncle for not recycling his Busch Light, which has devolved into a full on war on both sides of our political spectrum. Highlight of the evening was someone chirping that If Trump is president again, the Aunt is moving out of the country. In which, MAGA uncle said “well you should have moved out 8 years ago then”. It went downhill.
  8. Lol. That’s her/my worst nightmare. Goes to the gym about 6 times a week to avoid it. Prayers up.
  9. Just went to the store to get ingredients for a pecan pie. Might as well be petty and ruffle the feathers. MIL is on the Bud Light already. Fireworks incoming.
  10. My MIL is a hefty gal. Probably 5’7” 400ish. Vic wouldn’t even hit it. As you can imagine, her life revolves around food. We are all planning out who is bringing what to Thanksgiving. She is hell bent on bringing her very average pecan pie. Last year at my side of the family’s thanksgiving, I ordered a Piecaken off of Goldbelly. It’s fucking awesome. Basically pecan pie with frosting layer, pumpkin pie on top of it, frosting, apple spice cake on top of it. It’s like a turducken but diabeetus style. I spend the 90 bucks to bring it to wife’s family dinner last night. All was relatively normal until dessert time came. People started gushing over the Piecaken and not touching MILs pecan pie. She throws a grown woman hissy fit and tosses 2/3s of the Piecaken in the trash and starts blaming me for trying to upstage her and how she gets self worth out of people liking her pecan pie and I ruined it. Round two starts in about two hours. It’s going to be a shit show.
  11. If you ever have to be in Ada, Oklahoma, Folger’s Drive In has been around since like 1920 and is unbelievable. Truer words have never been spoken
  12. Made this last night. Absolutely awesome. Thanks for the inspiration.
  13. Journey time again tomorrow. Intentions are being comfortable in my own skin, not keeping score, and not being affected by perceived expectations of others. Will be my last MDMA journey for a while. Will do ketamine or mushrooms next time. Glad I will have a weekend to recover. Excited to see where the medicine takes me tomorrow.
  14. Pound and a half of boneless skinless chicken thighs. Mixed a cup of flour with some cornstarch, added some pepper and Cajun seasoning. Dredged the chicken thighs in that. Heated up some avocado oil. Cooked the chicken and pulled it. Sauce: soy, ginger, chili oil (or any hot sauce), garlic, rice wine vinegar, sesame oil, and honey. Portion out the squash and broccoli and cook in the same pan. Add 1/4 of the sauce. Once vegetables are cooked add the chicken and the rest of the sauce with the vegetables. Stir and let reduce. Cook some brown rice. Put the rice on the plate, top with chicken and vegetables. Add sesame seeds. Shovel into mouth. It’s pretty simple and really good.
  15. Boneless chicken thighs in a soy, honey, ginger, and garlic chili oil sauce with broccoli and squash over brown rice. Slammed hard. Really really good.
  16. Definitely a handball. What’s the point of VAR if they aren’t getting calls right. I guess today was a payback for the bad miss that got us 3 points a few games back
  17. Chet’s box score tonight was simply ridiculous for a rookies second game. I was also wildly impressed with Cason Wallace. Thought it was a reach at draft time but once again Presti is way smarter than me.
  18. I’ve played for 20 years and have never had this happen to me. Through 7 weeks, we’ve played the team that scored the most points that week 5 times. Opposing teams have scored 120 more points against us than any other team. So fun.
  19. Are we better without Kane up top? Seems like we are moving the ball much better around the box because we don’t have a singular target to force the ball to. or more likely it’s Ange is outright awesome and plays a much more effective style of play that fits our players. I’m sure Kane would still be awesome, but I’m excited to see what we do with the 100 million we got for him. Go get 2-3 guys that fits Ange’s style at the winter window and this team could be scary scary good.
  20. One impact player at the winter transfer window, and we will make the top 4. Ange plays such a fun version of football. So refreshing.
  21. Good Times is probably in my top 10 of albums of all time. The first 4 or 5 of his records had hardly any skippable songs. All just great music from a wise soul. RIP.
  22. I wish it were that simple. If and when we have exhausted all other options, we will definitely consider. I can’t in my right mind tell my wife that we can’t produce our own without trying. The thought of not having our own sends the wife into a tailspin. And that is nothing to say about people that adopt. They are doing the lords work. That’s an amazing gift you are giving a little one.
  23. Really like Jaylen Warren this year. Going to be this years Tony Pollard.
  24. Reverse seared filet, red Argentine shrimp, Bobby Flay’s grilled corn salad, and coconut crispy rice. Would recommend.
