Last year she mentioned a student who is from the Dominican Republican in front of a group of friends.  I just looked down in a combination of laughter and shame.  Until last year a non hearing person was "death" instead of "deaf."  Her occasional heartburn is called intergression and she sometimes ends sentences with explamation points.

Unfortunately, it seems to be genetic and has passed to my daughter who is taking French.  Apparently the French greeting she has learned is pronounced, "Bon George."

Finished all of the Sherlock episodes last night. Holy shot, I think that’s the best television series I’ve ever seen. Cast was great and the writing was fantastic.

Are there any more BBC series that in need to check out?

On a related note, people who fill up and deploy sandbags around their house prior to a hurricane. . .to me this is the epitomy of pissing into the wind. . .it's the ultimate "don't just stand there do something!! move.  Seriously, when was the last time someone saved their house with sandbags?

As opposed to just letting the water rush into your home unimpeded?

This issue came up during the "People vs. OJ" series when Sarah Paulson dropped the F-bomb.  Seipenwall addressed it... The interesting thing is that all cable networks could basically do what HBO does -- F-bombs, boobs, etc.; they don't have to obey any FCC "standards" because they aren't governed by the FCC in that way like the traditional over-the-air broadcast networks are.  Essentially they've always just shied away from profanity, nudity, etc., because their advertisers didn't want them to do it.

HBO obviously has no advertiser concerns so they've never worried about it.  I guess what happens now is that a lot of the "prestige" shows can do it because the advertisers don't mind because they know that the audience for those shows is largely older, more affluent, etc.

I wouldn't be surprised if one of these shows goes the nudity route at some point.

Yellowstone on Paramount Network has already broken that barrier.

I thought I heard Scottie say "except for you Tyler, you've been getting a steady diet of that." Guess I heard him wrong, he was speaking in a weird nerd dialect.
