  1. gym. drinking. i'm exposed to too many vectors in my current living situation so figured no drinking until at least SiP is lifted. Haven't had a drop since 3/7
  2. Short term yes on this one but think nyc was a pilot market for these types of companies and after a few months, almost everyone cancels. They're not bad, and do help novice cooks but humans are either too lazy or too smart; they either just go back to eating out or get into cooking/realize it's cheaper to do your own shopping. Maybe fear of infection keeps them afloat longer but in the long run no one uses them forever, least not anyone I know.
  3. it'd make my grocery runs safer, thats for sure. Alas, i'm walking the pup 1-2 hours a day, making grocery runs, or walking in the park/running alone on a track or the streets. I don't interact with people in public but i'm sure as hell not staying inside 24/7 for weeks at a time. I can't, the pup won't let me. Whats the best image hosting site for surly? Should be in the 40s-50s so there should be people out all over. Maybe because Queens is more residential, and while no one is congregating, the streets sure as hell don't look desolate by any means. Fewer people sure, but not even close to empty.
  4. same. letting the pervert 'stache grow and no haircuts. fuck it, its corona and i'm at home 22.5 hrs a day. i ain't trying to dress up for anyone.
  5. i'm all for wearing a mask but my sewing skills are shit, not sure I have a needle anyway, and sure as hell can't buy any now since everywhere is sold out. So what are my options?
  6. actually the last two got a chuckle out of me. Low, low, looooooow bar with EMAW but still
  7. go fuck yourself. i was just commenting on what i saw on the streets you fucking liar.
  8. Eh, I Don’t know about manhattan but still a lot of stuff open in queens. Or at least a lot of people out in the streets. For Queens or at least ASTORIA/LIC it is restaurants/diners: opened every regular day with reduced hours but generally open for takeout/delivery till 8ish. Grocery stores: opened every day but earlier with reduced hours but generally till 8ish. laundry: opened every day with reduced hours but again generally till 8ish. bodegas: either opened every day like normal Or reduced hours. Couple still 24/7 like nothing has changed but they are practically restaurants anyway. Bars: closed unless restaurants. parks: every day wide fucking open. clothing: closed. Beauty stores/salons: closed. Food trucks: lots are gone since the bars shut down late night maybe bc there are so many eateries here but there is still a shit ton of movement going in queens. I get it though, people need to get fresh air, I’m fine with that. But when fucking Cold Stone Creamery is open until 8pm everyday, still feels like restrictions could be a little tighter. Not that I support that but just saying.

    Gym Pet Peeves

No clue how long this will last but I'm really not trying to invest $300+ into weights that I'll hopefully only be using temporarily. Searched online and weights were either prohibitively expensive or said 1-2 months for delivery. F that. So doing the kettlebell route. I know they're good just never got around to using them at the gym or home. Recs for good online vids or sites? Limited research says start with one, most men can start at 35lbs and just go from there, so going that route. Thanks in advance.
  12. Cuomo on, talking about minimizing apex and stockpile of supplies. Damn, need 30 million surgical masks... that seems like a lot. Back to talking to bed availability.
  13. Why would poor cause more cases? Aren’t the rich ski resorts and cruises also hot spots?

More like a fast waddle, but yeah.
  15. Is this just political talk? Or updates too? Just got text Boris Johnson has it Link
  16. Very similar situation to 4 people I know here in queens. No doc will test them, told to just quarantine and wait it out. Hopefully the antibody test actually comes through Some day. Related question, any hard facts on how long one is contagious after recovering?
  17. link? Always nice to see shitbags being called out. edit: nvmind, sorry, should have kept scrolling down.
  18. Did I say I was blaming the spread on trump? It’s two different things to blame the spread on someone as opposed to blaming them for not taking any reasonable precautionary measures (and I didn’t mention either before). Way to inject bullshit like your stupid prior post. You’re talking out your ass about things you literally know nothing about. You type like a real moron. You know nothing about nyc and the city is better off the more it stays that way. As for why nyc is getting hard and not japan, not sure. I’d wager that’s more of a country and culture thing in USA v Japan. Or it could be the Japanese national government acted while while everyone from cuomo up had their thumb up their ass. But honestly don’t know. You seem to have a theory, spill it. you also upvoted a post with tweets from early feb As a ... sign that nyc deserved the virus bc it embraced Chinese New Year? Not sure. Maybe City wide social distancing could have helped then but seems like a number of other nationwide measures would have been more prudent at that time.
  19. In regards to Social Distancing, not sure if it goes here or the medical thread (although i've never clicked on that one), but how susceptible is one to infection at a local normal sized outdoor track? The park here was just reopened late in 2019 due to a year long remodel and the track within is huge. But with gyms closed and two mini-ish soccer fields inside the track, everyone is out there running around on nice days since the WHO called it a pandemic. Haven't seen anyone doing team sports but there have been small clusters of people, no more than 3 or 4; and of those none of the clusters interacted. Didn't see anyone coughing either but guess that doesn't mean much. I've gone twice and both days were very sunny, very windy, and cold. I stayed mostly 4-6ft away from people while running around slower runners, but now wondering if it's a hotbed for transmission. I'll still run at the park since it's easy to stay 10-15ft from most people there but the track is hella nice.
  20. and it was to done to combat stupid racists like you who were assaulting anyone of asian descent or thinking they could get the virus by eating at chinese restaurants. if you can't understand the reason for showing solidarity with chinese residents here in nyc in order to combat xenophobia, you are even dumber than your posts from the last two pages.
  21. YOU STUPID PIECE OF SHIT, how the fuck do you think healthcare people get to work? they just live next door to the hospitals? how the fuck do you think pharmacy and grocery workers get to work in order to feed the city? HOW FUCKING DUMB ARE YOU???? jesus fucking christ, please don't reproduce and add another stupid piece of shit to the gene pool. GOD YOU ARE FUCKING DUMB.
  22. thats not a good take
