  1. Are there any photos that are big enough to print?
  2. I wasn't on shag long before it went down.
  3. I heavily bashed council from 2014-2016 including Adler who I voted against twice in 2014. The first 10-1 council was fucking terrible. I liked 2014-2016 a little more with Jimmy getting there and I really like the current council after Ora Houston and Troxclair left. I also really like Randy Clark and he changed my opinion of Cap Metro when he was hired. I've bashed Ora probably the most but also based Troxclair, Pool, Gallo, Zimmerman and Alter. The toll authority just did a really good job with 45 SW, the 290/130 connectors and 183 South. Anyone who disagrees doesn't know what they are talking about. Do I like paying tolls? No but I like shit getting done and sometimes you have to toll. They removed the 35 and Oak Hill toll lanes and then eliminated around 600 million or something in Campo projects around Austin to make up for it.
  4. Ah man, did https://archive.vn/N7vOD go down?
  5. That would mean the city of Austin annual bill is $1,813.90 but likely much less due to homestead exemption. It's likely closer to $1,500. You really think it's unreasonable to pay $1,500 a year for all of the things that the city of Austin provides? Just a reminder that the year is 2020 and not 1856.
  6. New stuff will skew higher but it'll come down as newer projects come online as long as buyers aren't competing. Also, lowering would be amazing but the first focus needs to be mitigating increases. Getting to the point where appraisals don't change from one year to a next (and not do to TCAD fuck ups like last year) then that would be an amazing start.
  7. The problem is housing density but mouth breathers keep fighting because they think building more housing means they will have to move. The land use reform that city council worked their asses off to get within 1 reading to pass before the courts came in would do a lot to fight rising housing costs in the next decade. City council can't do anything to stop people competing for housing and driving up prices and thus appraisals which drives up mortgages, taxes and rent. The state's school financing doesn't help either. The actual city of Austin taxes aren't pushing anyone out of the city.
  8. How did they get the probability wrong?
  9. I know it sucks things have changed since the Middle Ages but it's time you admit the world has passed you up.
  10. Yea. You can sign a petition to move to ranked choice city elections to eliminate low turnoff runoffs: https://www.austinprogress.org/amendments
  11. that's fucking bullshit. I don't agree with all the council members but they are all rational people.
  12. Yea you would think he would be suspicious that a local news station in Minnesota is reporting about a Texas city council salary raise but I guess not.
  13. Wrong austin. She would make about 75k a year for 4 years.
  14. Yes because she has lost 2 major political races. That's not a good thing to be known for. The whole cool biker chick tough campaign was dumb.
  15. You asked if it was early December and the answer is yes. Also, you could have googled it in the time it took you to write those posts.
  16. MJ has been terrible for ever. I wish Christina would have won the primary.
