  1. That's just from one page. Do you ever add anything to the discussion? Or do you just content yourself with chuckles over how the plebs are overreacting? I'd love to see your take on Sark - you can even discount the gossip.
  2. No, dipshit. People can hold the simultaneous opinions that Sark is fucking up and needs to make serious changes and that it would be a bad idea to join the coaching carousel this cycle. And rebuilding is such a tired, out of date excuse. How's the Georgia OL look after it got raided by the NFL draft? It's not world beating, but it at least looks mildly competent. Mildly competent sounds amazing at this point for Texas.
  3. Thanks? You didn't actually respond to any of my substantiative criticism, though. I'll make it simple: I am of the opinion that Indiana would currently beat us on a neutral field significantly more often than not. I think they're playing better fundamental football. I think this is a key reason they would win. Do you disagree? If so, why? If not, then how does that tie into your thesis that Texas is losing because of some long history of losing? Most players grew up not even being aware Indiana had a football program. You keep mentioning Sark's record this season, and...seriously? I know you know football. You're telling me it's not at all concerning that we demonstrate the same fundamental flaws as we did last year? And the year before that? We are currently #133 in penalties per game, and while I'll lay some of that on bad officiating, it is definitely not entirely the problem. The house is filled with smoke and it's hot, but you're telling me it's fine because the roof hasn't completely collapsed yet and anyway we always expected this tinderbox to go up in flames. We're obviously not going to win the national championship every year, but if we're not making the playoffs with all our resources, it's okay to ask why. And yes, of course I do expect us to reload like Ohio State and Georgia. We just had the #1 class. Our problem is not our ability to get elite recruits, it's identifying which of those elite recruits are actually going to fit our scheme and succeed as college players. Will we miss on a few? Of course. We'll get some, too, that the other teams never had a chance with because they just want to go to Texas. That said, the NIL era is a different world. Take a look at Indiana and Ole Miss and Texas Tech. These are not teams with a glorious winning history. You mention Wingo as an example - if he's not a "real" 5 star, why the fuck did we pay him like one? If he sucks and is maxed out, that's on us for a shitty eval. If he just hasn't developed, that's also on us. No one is forcing us to go after a bunch of fucking JAG OL - we did that to ourselves. If we want better players, the way to get them is to win in evaluations and development, then put those players in a position to succeed. The staff is responsible. It's okay to admit it. That said, I don't feel like it would be a good idea to nuke Sark from orbit, especially this year, but he doesn't need an apologist. He's an adult. He's a professional. He's getting paid a ton. He has fucked shit up. He needs to unfuck it. It would be super cool if he quit doing the Mack Brown bullshit of having to have his teeth kicked in before he notices that there's a problem. You said it best: It's not just for players. It goes for coaches, too. Sark needs to fire his OC and Defensive Pass Game Coordinator, tell Flood that he doesn't give a fuck if someone is large if they're not ever going to be good at football, and actually pay attention to what is going on with his responsibilities instead of...whatever else was going on this offseason. Maybe then he'll have time to remind players to pay attention to that onside kick or talk to a ref that is "missing" obvious shit.
  4. If you are of the opinion that Indiana wouldn't beat us and isn't substantially better at fundamental football, I suspect you haven't watched them much this year. And how is Indiana treating those tier two teams? They won their WTF game. We've lost ours and gone into overtime twice and into a nail biter against rosters that are vastly inferior to ours. I was completely unaware they handed out a ten win trophy. Why is this a down year? We're reloading after a run? How's that working out for Ohio State? Who indeed? Man, I like your film breakdowns, but... Yes, they were supposed to be here. We recruited them. We've paid them a fuck load of money. We've intentionally recruited JAG OL because they're large humans or something. Our ability to identify talent is a B-, on a good day. If only we could identify the folks responsible for making these evaluations! And your opinion is that players are being negatively recruited because we were historically bad at developing offensive talent? That's the reason we're not getting good players? Charlie Strong hasn't coached here since 2016, and Tom Herman beat Georgia. To the extent that negative recruiting is causing problems for us getting truly elite players, I suspect that pointing at two highly ranked QBs and a bevy of receivers that haven't really developed might be more of a factor than shit that happened with different coaches while current players were in elementary or middle school. And our best players are currently on the bench? This honestly wouldn't shock me. We just now figured out our best starting OL. Tragically, we're the only team in the NCAA that wasn't allowed to practice or even look at players until the first game of the season. You'll have to remind me again who is responsible for evaluations, development, and the two deep. Well, if my options are "play action that no one respects because we gave up on the run game in the first quarter" and "just fucking drop back", sign me up for option B. Arch - much like every other college player - is unsurprisingly doing much better when he's asked to do things he can do. Hear me out: what if we did that for the whole offense? This season has revealed that this off season was an unmitigated disaster, and we weren't doing super great with evals before then. We hired Duane Akina. Our coach schemed up an offense for a team he doesn't have. I'm pretty sure that team hasn't existed since NIL introduced significantly more parity. As far as I can see, Sark is of the opinion that other teams aren't allowed to have good players or watch our film, all of his college players are superheroes, and having a mid TE pick up a crashing end on the other side of the line while we're doing... something? is a plan for football success. After all, on paper, it's genius. Are our players also shooting us in the dick? Totally. No one can blame Simmons getting offsides on (definitely bad) officiating. First half Ryan Wingo can fuck right off. But I also need a coach that is putting the players he is responsible for recruiting in positions to succeed. I don't need him squatting, looking at a play sheet for a team he doesn't have, instead of reminding them that yeah, that Kirby Smart dickhead might try something on this kickoff, so maybe keep your head on a swivel. I hope Sark can sort his shit out, but let's not make excuses because winning is hard.
  5. It's hard to show you're an offensive genius if all you do is run outside zone. You've got to run a TE across the line to pick up an end they can't see while using play action no one buys.
  6. I, for one, eagerly anticipate the 20 minutes of ads between quarters.
  7. Maybe we can make them hire Akina.
  8. What are your thoughts on scoring more points than they do?
  9. Apparently it's time to take Georgia's soul.
