  2. Now there is some asshole blowing a whistle everytime the.pitcher is in mid motion
  3. Maybe it's just him. He got tossed yesterday. He's still talking shit today.
  4. Hahaha. Wow Texas softball fans are assholes
  5. I watched more UDub softball than I ever thought I would this year. They have a decent team.
  6. Lauren Burke en fuego
  7. Let's go Horns
  8. Went to Qatar on a month long oil and gas project back in 2018 and that was the eye opener. While my company paid me 200 bucks of per diem a day and had me in the business suite of a the Radisson Blu and a driver. You had the manual labor from Egypt and the Phillipines that were viewed as worse than roaches and probably getting paid a dollar a day
  9. This security robot will soon take all your jobs. We are developing arms for it. He is waiting to go into the elavator.
  10. Yeah. If you are willing to live in the greater Seattle area yes. I will get you started at 90k
  11. Man. I get close to 50 bucks an hour changing light bulbs at the Amazon campus and we are completely understaffed. A lot of guys quit because they feel "under appreciated". I'm like dude, we change light bulbs for 50 bucks an hour and work 4/10s. You'll survive
  12. My first chief in the military said something that still has stuck to me til this day when I asked him why he was getting out. He said look at the guy above you on the career progression. Don't just look at the job he has. Look at his home life too. Ask if that is what you want from your life. If it's 17 hour days and working on your 3rd divorce then that's great. Oil and gas all of our old guys had that slave mentality where they would do everything for the company because that's what you do and their family "better understand"
  13. My friend group has talked about this extensively. We used to brag about how many hours we worked like it was a badge of honor. How we don't use sick days because sick days were for pussies. Then I started suffering burnout. Like bad burnout. A few of the other guys were saying the same thing we just didn't want to be bitches. But the mindset of being a slave to your job and taking your job home needs to change. It has as far as my friend group. Whether it was from burnout. Realizing that promotion being dangled was just a facade or just feeling it wasn't right that their children were after thoughts. Your employer only treats you how you allow him to treat you.
  14. Let me get on my soapbox for you work from home motherfuckers. No do not put up a fucking away message on your auto-reply that you are working from home so it may take a few hours to return an email or return a phone call. Cunts like you do not understand the concept of working from fucking home and that's why everyone has to go back. Thanks for ruining it motherfucker
  15. I've made 6 figures every year for probably the last 10 years. I don't complain about the pay. I don't complain about the work. I have a problem with the mindset the employer can hang over your head that you would get fired if you don't answer the phone on your days off and drop everything at once. When I interviewed with my current company I specifically asked about it. I told them I don't mind overtime. If you give me advanced notice I'm usually good with it. Hell sometimes even last minute stuff because it's a one off. I'm ok with it. But when you start thinking you can call me anytime and have me come in and hang the threat of canning me. That is where I draw the line. The guys interviewing me said holy shit. Nah we won't do that and they have been pretty good about it. My 2nd week I get a random email from my boss and he said hey we need you to help with some testing Sunday. I said hey it's Thursday. Easter is Sunday and I have plans is that ok? He said sure thing and that was that. My last company would have said tough shit. You're working anyways.
  16. Yeah. You see that a lot. It's the business group who trumps everyone. Boeing got bit in the ass by it. Everyone is getting bit in the ass by it. Shareholders don't allow companies to have long term plans. The concept of protecting the divedend over everything else says it all. They care only what the shareholder thinks and not what the worker needs
  17. I blame Jack Welch for all this. As head of GE he embraced the lean six sigma concept. And since he embraced it it became monkey see monkey do. The concept is great but on the drive for efficiency it cut out some of the needed fat to be able to absorb interruptions. I don't know if our people are just too stupid to see it or they are just so hypnotized by some magic number. I compare it to a heroin addict chasing the dragon. You hear bosses keep mentioning "benchmark rates" we gotta hit benchmark. They hit that number one time when every condition was right and sustained it for maybe 10 minutes. But since it was achieved one time. They expect that to be the norm. So that pressure leads to unrealistic expectations because no body along the chain dares to say no to their boss.
  18. Hubris. We love to pretend we are green and care about the environment. That is the selling point of many companies. We make all the bad shit overseas. Ship it back here put some nuts and bolts on it. Say assembled in America and say Fuck India for polluting.
  19. Jesus gets fired for his coworkers taking bereavement leave for his funeral only for him to show back up to work 3 days later.
  20. The problem is making the change is fucking tough. It was like having beaten wife syndrome. You stay because you keep thinking shit will change. Then you're just like nah. Fuck this.
  21. That is exactly what I learned when I left my last job. They talk culture. They aren't about it. We had a dude who was there for 28 years. He talked loyalty and how we were this and that. He made an off cuff remark and got canned. Another thing I learned is what I should have learned when I was in the navy. When they just start feeding you out of the blue. Be prepared to get screwed
  22. Overtime is what made me quit my last job. I understand sometimes you have to work overtime. But they instituted a forced overtime policy and on a Dupont schedule. So I was basically doing 7-8 12s with a day off before switching from day shift to night shift or vice versa. It wouldn't be so bad if they scheduled it in advanced but a lot of it was with no notice and at the last minute. The body can only take so much. I ended up doing that for a year and a half. The final straw was I had a trip planned and asked if they were going to schedule me and they said no. At the very last minute they scheduled me. I asked and got told "too bad". I called in sick that day. I was scheduled. Came back from my trip and put in my two weeks. Management asked what did we do wrong and how do we get you to stay. By that time it was too late. At my new job I enjoy it. It pays just as well and I actually feel kind of bad because I have such distrust of management from my previous employer.
  23. I had this discussion with my buddy the other day and I used an example of when we were in the navy. We first started loading tomahawks. 115 of them and they said hey 25 days. They said sure. Well the next time they had to load it. They said 22 days. Then the next time they said 19 and so on until it got down to 9 days. And it was the Admiral asking the Captains if they could do it. No captain dared to say no because they all wanted that promotion. What they didn't tell people was how they got it down to 9 days. And the way they did it. The crews basically work 24 hours a day with people getting maybe 2-3 hours a day and then cutting out the safety margins. Now if anything went wrong the captains would have said well we didn't hear any complaints about it. It wasn't until an inspection team had heard about it and someone with balls said. Hey this is really fucking stupid.
  24. be careful there. Asking those questions will get you accused of being a Russian troll. Or a bot.
