  1. Thatś not correct, that bill pertains to as civic events (as in convention center/ conferences & meetings) but the athletic portion is null to USC/ Stanford... Meanwhile, B1G has itś own issues with scandal at 11 of 14 member schools over the past (that seem to repeat itself) meh, the new commish will fix it..? Both of those are private schools, and UCLA & California just use donor funds to still go to games in said locations, *UCLA has since scheduled Auburn & other team in the list, just as California has games as TCU/ Stanford vs Vanderbilt, ect... Note, Minnesota has same wording in itś state sponsored bills that prohibits travel to locations as North Carlolina (for the athroom bill), thus if you want to pull the ẗhey ain the same as us"card, don forget that SEC would be the league with most similar voting habits of Oklahoma & Texas... But anyhow, I think I have placed a chart before, but here goes for red/ blue/ swing states: Likeminded states in PXC - Arizona/Utah/ Kansas/Oklahoma/Texas... (Washington/Oregon/California) [Colorado/Iowa]Likeminded states in B1G - Nebraska/ Indiana... (Minnesota/Wisconsin/Illinois/Michigan/Pennsylvania/New Jersey/Maryland) [Iowa/Ohio]Likeminded states in SEC - Missouri/Arkansas/Texas/Louisiana/Mississippi/Alabama/Tennessee/Kentucky/South Carolina/Georgia... [Florida] In either a move to SEC or XII raiding PAC, the schools in this reagion would still be in a league with many like-minded constituents... In the merger option, both of the king southwestern schools keep fiefdom within a expanded footprint (opposed to being a newbie)...
  2. There seems to be some traction to the idea of USC/ UCLA/ Texas & Oklahoma in the same athletic conference..? Stewart Mandel @slmandel USC AD Mike Bohn recently said "everything's on the table" with USC's conference membership. I talked Pac-12 future in this week's Mailbag. https://theathletic.com/1652355/2020/03/04/stewart-mandel-ryan-day-ohio-state-unc-texas-am-usc/… @Andy_Staples urges the Big 12 to pounce.
  3. It may have already been decided, by the most recent news of Disney gaining all 3 tiers of SEC media content... Texas earns $53 million for 1st/2nd/3rd tier media contracts, vs B1G @ $51 million... (SEC $65 million in 2024)...Oklahoma earns $48 million for 1st/2nd/3rd tier media contracts, vs B1G @ $51 million... (SEC $65 million in 2024)...USC & UCLA earn $31 million for 1st/2nd/3rd tier media contracts, vs B1G @ $51 million... (SEC $65 million in 2024)...
  4. A little backstory, of how 2 far-flung leagues almost came to be, for the purpose of tv revenues: APC & ESC, (let's say similar is tried in future)...
  5. This game is pretty damn good: https://twitter.com/BleacherReport/status/1234254735173021696?s=20
  6. The great thing about February insanity, is it gets us prepped for "March Madness".?!
  7. Disney has far more revenue(s) streams to offer Oklahoma/ Texas (& potentially USC/ UCLA) lucrative media network contracts before 2025:
  8. How do you #MarchMadness, without the fans..? Might as well just play the games in in a damn garage then.! In other news, Tulsa coach had the impressive win over Memphis a while back & has Golden Hurricanes 20-9.!!
  9. *(just random thought of the day here friends) - While Tom Steyer jams out to back that ass up: Trump is backing the coronavirus back out USA..? Well ol' freak-nasty dances might be contagious..!
  10. I think USC may be looking for something more drastic, than just a "bigger slice" of a (current) $31 million dollar pie: Another key note may be in who UCLA looks to hire to fill the athletic director vacancy (any saber-rattling afterwards)...
  11. Why would Oklahoma leave if the conference has Texas/ Kansas/ Colorado/ Arizona/ USC & UCLA..?
  12. 1994 was a classic, bit alas, I'd have rather the Wolverines had won all 3 contest...
  13. Good post, Texas & Oklahoma/ USC & UCLA, (then Washington-Oregon & Colorado-Kansas), are solid brands... But, the lesser brands of XII operate the more solvent athletic department, having stronger ties to ESPN (LHN & ESPN+) helps far more than an independent PACN that has woefully underperforming revenue & product placement... Thus, the reason USC is saying this year: " everything is on the table" (including joining a new conference), meanwhile last year UCLA power booster went public stating: "not to renew with next PAC GoR's deal", no wonder PAC could not get a PACN equity deal... It seems the power brokers wouldn't have signed off on the sale, thus XII may actually have a chance to add power 5 brands far better than any option back in 2015 (UCF & BYU)...
  14. The average attendance figures for 4 similar ACC brands: Louisville 50,251 Miami 61,469 NC State 56,855 Virginia Tech 59,574 West Virginia 58,158 The average attendance figures for 4 similar SEC brands: Arkansas 59,884 Kentucky 55,117 Mississippi State 58,057 Missouri 51,466 Kansas State 49,738 & Oklahoma State 53,542 The average attendance figures for the reconfigured MWC: Air Force - 27,701 *Baylor - 41,336 Boise State - 33,068 ~BYU - 52,476 Colorado State - 29,504 Fresno State - 31,503 ^Oregon State - 35,209 Nevada - 17,181 UNLV - 16,823 -UTEP - 14,155 New Mexico - 16,587 San Diego State - 31,439 San Jose State - 14,255 Utah State - 18,717 ^Washington State - 30,091 Wyoming - 18,880 (* former XII school/ ^ former PAC school/ ~ former independent/ - former Conference USA school)...
  15. I'd rather remember the loss to Apply State, than this atrocious bonehead play that cost you a game to the in-state rivals...
  16. You can get pretty close to this, if looking at moves through the lens of likely partner: ESPN... ESPN can flip LHN into a 16 team conference network, while moving 3 current XII members to ACC & SEC... Why would ESPN be willing to pay SEC to take 2 XII schools/ ACC to take 1 XII school..? As it opens up the western half of the market to be owned by Disney... Placing a 3rd conference network alongside ACCN & SECN, in PXCN, would give Disney 3rd tier rights to 48 of the top 65 power brands, damn near locking up rights from coast to coast... Not to mention, Disney would also gain Notre Dame football (as NBC contract expires in 2025), thus by moving 3 XII teams, ESPN can lock in Notre Dame/ Oklahoma/ USC & UCLA long term to various conferences... My proposal would be simple for ACC, add (ND football) West Virginia to regain most old BigEast rivals/ SEC add Kansas State & Oklahoma State, giving Missouri & Arkansas regional rivals, then raid PAC for the best brands, with XII best football brands... PXC - Washington/ Oregon/ California/ Stanford/ UCLA/ USC/ Arizona/ Arizona State/ Utah/ Colorado/ Texas/ Texas Tech/ TCU/ Oklahoma/ Kansas & Iowa State... That would place 9 XII teams in a P4 league, (1 ACC/ 2 SEC/ 6 PXC) to dissolve league, as needing 8 votes to do so, PAC would also have enough votes to dissolve with 10 members merging into a new league with former XII members ( as PAC needs 9 votes to dissolve conference) this is the same as the SEC & Big8 merger/ ACC raid of BigEast... And lately, there's talk of ESPN looking to open up SEC & ACC 2nd & 3rd tier contracts to place more content on streaming apps, along with linear networks... It will be interesting to see what comes about in the near future, as Oklahoma has 3rd tier rights due for bids before the end of 2022, that are now with Sinclair (although still branded as "Fox" since Disney was forced into selling the RSN's to complete to $71 billion dollar deal of a year ago from 20th Century Fox)... Division aligni could be pretty fun as well, as the north could consist of 8 & 8 in the south division: North - Washington Oregon California Stanford Utah Colorado Kansas Iowa State South - UCLA USC Arizona Arizona State Oklahoma Texas Texas Tech TCU The conference title game could rotate from Las Vegas & San Antonio, for football/ Kansas City & Phoenix for basketball.!?
  17. (If this was Jeopardy) - What is: Jus' into doin' da butt..?
  18. The (history of) 1st In-N-Out Burger from California:
  19. Well, B1G added Rutgers/ PAC added Utah/ XII added West Virginia/ SEC added Missouri/ ACC added Louisville, for money... The same principle *money* (allowing Disney to control the majority of CFP contnet) note ESPN pay increase to SEC for 2023...
  20. ESPN has no network channel with PAC, you may be mistaken for ACCN or SECN..? Maybe ESPN+, but PACN is seperate of ESPN (as of now)... Which also shows how Mike Leach gets in homes with an ESPN-backed SECN & instantly has more viewers than PACN currently can access...
  21. You can get to 9 pretty easily, with Disney playing the role of "matchmaker" in the moves (as B1G is backed by Fox): ACC- *[takes 1 XII team]: The conference adds West Virginia from XII & also gains Notre Dame in football (as NBC contract expires in 2025)... SEC- *[takes 2 XII teams]: The conference adds Kansas State/ Oklahoma State, Mizzou/ Arky gain regional foes, Alabama-Auburn move east... PXC- *[XII has 6 brands, that earn more than all PAC schools, ESPN raids PAC (similar to BigEast/ACC raids)]: The league forms Husky/Duck/Bear/Tree/Bruin/Troy/'Cat/Devil/Ute/Buff/'Horn/Raider/Frog/Sooner/'Hawk/'Clone... In this model, Disney gains 3rd tier net rights of Oklahoma & USC flips LHN to PXCN/ adds all rights to Notre Dame... There is a talk on the dirt board of Disney looking to open contracts for ACCN & SECN to add content to ESPN+ too...
