  1. My daughter is going to go to school in Florence, starting this October. I'll be visiting her for a couple of weeks around Thanksgiving because she'd like for me to cook what I can of a traditional Thanksgiving dinner for her. Do any of you have any tips for her living there - the day to day stuff that she'll need to figure out, and tips for me when I visit her? All I know is it's great for leather goods, and since I'm less stylish than a rusty Yugo I'm going to be embarrassingly out of step over there. Thanks in advance.
  2. You stop me again whilst I'm walking, and I'll cut your fucking Jacobs off.
  3. We went to a lot of similar shows. How do you choose The Best? Is '81 Rolling Stones in the Astrodome better than '97 Stones in an arena? Ray Charles with an orchestra and the Raelettes or Tom Waits with a horn player and a guy on upright bass? Is the whirling dance of Mahlathini and the Mahotella Queens better than Warren Zevon or Patti Smith or the Ramones in '78? Crazy Horse in Red Rocks or Muddy Waters at Antone's? There's literally dozens more. I don't see how anyone can pick The Best show they've ever been to, just keep going to great ones and loving the experiences. Well, that time Joe Ely opened for the Clash at the Armadillo was pretty cool.
  4. Sirius channel 94 - Comedy Greats - is sprinkling Garry Shandling content throughout the day for at least the rest of March. There are remembrances, standups and interviews. This morning I heard a great interview when he was on Marc Maron's WTF.
  5. First concert was Arlo Guthrie in 1973. I was 13. First rock concert was Bachman-Turner Overdrive in 1974, just as Takin' Care of Business was on the charts. After that I was off to the races, as many shows as I could possibly go to.
  6. If you order the dinner, it comes out on a different type of plate with sides you don't want. Just get the enchiladas with jalapenos, onions, and two eggs on top, with bread instead of tortillas. A side of fries if you're feeling lucky.
