  1. I always thought his dress style was not man of the people or someone who cares more about the job than his looks. He demonstrates a lack of social maturity by choosing comfort over dressing like a public official entrusted to lead millions. It also shows that he cares more about attention that he receives than the issues.

besides it’s just weird to wear shorts when it’s 20 and snowing. I’m not talking about running out to the mailbox dressed that way but leaving your house to spend a day in the senate. His constituents who get up in the morning to work a blue collar or office job (in the office ) do not dress like a 10 year old boy.

you want to look like your voters? Put on some jeans, boots and a work shirt. I’m cool skipping the suit but he looks like a fool.

  2. It's just a fact that old people, often in mental decline, and their money are soon parted. Many scams take place in person. Scammers see a house needing repairs and knock on the door to see if the homeowner needs help. An old person answers and the scammers may offer a deal if the homeowner agrees to same-day work. The scammer only needs $1000 to go buy the materials from Home Depot. Even non-old folks have fallen for this scam.

Always tell old people in your life to reach out to you whenever money is involved.

I knew an retired person that bought a car over the internet. The scammer asked for a down payment to hold the car before the buyer flew to their city to finalize the deal and transfer ownership. My friend said the hell with a down payment, I will send the full amount. smh. There was no car and no one met him at the airport. He was out the full amount.

See, that's what I disagree with.

The dawning lesson of the last four years is that Democrats can't get their message out of orbit, absent a transcendent communicator.  The podcast universe needs to be used as the laboratory, and as long as there is a listening audience for someone like Hanania, I think failing to engage with it is ceding that terrain to bad actors.

Democrats often fail to understand that an issue isnt over and accepted by large groups once Dems achieve some goal like a court decision, policy adoption or new law.

Given the number of Florida applicants I was noting in a recent conversation about some open positions, the state is having a bit of a brain drain problem as a result.

Think of all of the problems that DeSantis has created, made worse or failed to address:

    • NASA is on the verge of becoming an agency who's sole job will be to power wash the launchpad once Elon and Jeff's rockets blast off.
    • Disney is quieting leaving FL, as much as they can. They're not closing WDW and never will.
    • Home insurance is bankrupting home owners in FL. Condo owners are faring worse because of that one tower collapse.
    • Increasing red tides, due to agriculture run off and climate change, are ruining coastal waters
    • Finally Trump's mistreatment of the world will greatly harm florida's tourism

And this is just what I know. You could also add Florida citizen's teeth to the mix since he just signed off in banning fluoride addition to the water system. Local communities won't be able to make that decision for themselves.

  5. Between bad timing, zero personality and now his obsession of getting his wife to become governor, I see DeSantis fading from the spotlight. Assuming his wife doesn't become governor. DeSantis is similar to Ted Cruz in that he can find a constituency in a red state that will accept him if he's their main choice but he has little opportunity to win when independent votes are needed.

Besides DeSantis has set some awful FL policies in motion. In 2028, FL should be much worse off than they are today. He will be a national laughingstock by then, even more than he is today.

Its how pig butchering and other scams start. Every other week I get some random text message that only says hi. I wouldn't even interact with them. Just delete and move on.

Every other week? I must have made a list of suspected morons as I get those texts daily. "Hey. I'm at the restaurant, where are you?" or "why haven't you responded to my last text?"

The Gulf of America shit is embarrassing as fuck. It only extends to our territorial waters.

Last week I was on a flight for the first time for the year. While flying, I like to check the flight map on the TV screen/app. Was completely shocked that United was still calling GOM by GOM instead of Gulf of America. I would have to guess that MAGA types would be up in arms about United going against the President.

I'm going to laugh when they eventually get a deal for a True Crime Miniseries/Netflix Documentary about this whole Turkey Leg Hut saga...

I have to guess that multiple producers/writers are hitting up (paying) people involved. This has Tiger King all over it. You also have to guess that there are many sub-stories that haven't made the news as much such as affairs, mistreatment of employees, etc. etc. I'm looking forward to watching "The Turkey Leg Hustle" or "Drumsticks and Dirty Laundry."

My wife works for a point of sale company that Turkey Leg Hut used and she had to deal with these absolute garbage humans a few years ago. Shady, completely unprofessional "business " people who try to yell and scream about made up equipment and service issues to try to get out of paying what they owed constantly. There's absolutely nothing I could possibly hear that they could be accused of that would surprise me.

It's always strange when a business looks to be successful but the owners seemingly go out of their way to cause it to fail with their actions. I guess that if you're personally taking home $200K you want it to be $500K. And when it's $500K, you want $2M. and so on.

  10. I'm shaking my head at any headlines that mention the shocking exit of Warren. One, he says that he's staying on until the end of the year. Second, he's 94. There is no such thing as a shocking exit for anyone that age. It's not even shocking when someone 94 passes away without warning. Finally, he's been grooming successors for a while so it's doubtful there will be meaningful strategic changes, for those that want that continuity.

Officials say 32-year-old Carl Sprayberry and 18 other suspects are behind bars after a four-day operation from April 25-28. It focused on individuals engaging in sexually explicit communication with children on the internet, who arranged to engage in sex with a child, and to travel for the purpose of having sex.

Does the mugshot camera have a "grandma from 1975" filter on it?

  12. My guess is that Bill is not all there. A 73 year old could very well have some cognitive decline. I don’t mean not knowing your name but could very likely make questionable decisions. Plenty of old, rich guys get with the much younger women at this stage. One last grasp of feeling young. And if she’s good at faking everything, why does he care.

for her, she can put up with 5-10 years of his decline, convince him to marry and walk off with 10s of millions before 35. Maybe have a child to lock in money in case he decides to move on.

As soon as I saw the Atlanta coach's name was Jeff and his son was Jax, I figured that all of the children's name would start with J. Partially right. The other 2 are Jace and Samantha. What, no Jennifer or Jamantha?

I can understand that someone brought up with nothing shows off their money in a half LV/half plexiglass box but Shedeur didn't grow up poor. but I guess that if Deion is your dad, you think this is wealthy person behavior.

Where can I place a bet that Shedeur will have the equivalent of his signing bonus stolen before the end of the year?

  15. Easier said than done to hang around in the nfl as a backup qb. It pays well and 10 new guys show up each year to replace the current 32 backups. Sure there is always a 3rd string guy but that’s for one of the new 10 as an extended try out. And a #3 guy needs to be cheap so turnover is high.

Not that it’s within a backup QB’s control but a long term backup needs 1 of 2 paths: get real playing time early to demonstrate you won’t shit the bed when the starter goes down. Second, become indispensable to the star QB who will tell the HC and OC that he needs you for the weekly prep.

QE wasn’t drafted to replace Tua so he has to make a place for himself to have a chance to stick.

  16. Hegseth had his team run an unsecured internet cat 6 cable into his office so that he could connect to signal on his desktop computer? Did he also install a mouse jiggler so that he looks to the other Cabinet officials like he’s online in Teams while it’s Drink:30?

I haven’t been able to fully confirm but I watched a pro-military TikTok channel discuss that the Pentagon has only held 1 press conference since hegseth was confirmed. In this time frame, the expectation would have been to have closer to 40 press conferences. Makes sense because Hegseth can’t have questions being asked about incompetency.

    So, yeah, about international trade.

There are some things that we just cannot produce on our own:  coffee, vanilla, enough rare earth metals, etc.

I can think of very little, except maybe a few defense products, where we are the world's sole supplier, or nearly so.

If we a) want to be able to buy foreign products on reasonable terms and b) have good markets for our own goods, we should probably not try to be economic isolationists and be assholes about it.

This is all just so damn stupid.

I wouldn’t lead with that monologue if you decide to apply for a Trump White House position.

So I have to ask an uncomfortable question that hopefully doesn't upset anyone.

I’m doing some treatment planning for the future. I’ve been using the Mayo Clinic for my medical care for years. Mayo is the absolute gold standard for medical facilities. It’s incredible for many many reasons.

However, we may need better proximity for care in the future. It relates to the particular procedures that need to be done. That leaves MD Anderson as a potential natural alternative choice to Mayo.

However, I have a highly respected medical relative that cautioned me against using MD Anderson for cancer care due to the particular philosophy and approach they often use for cancer treatment, and the fact they sometimes are too cavalier about doing research oriented treatments. It’s the same reason Lance Armstrong chose a facility other than MD Anderson for his cancer treatment.

Thoughts on MD Anderson? I know it’s highly respected, but see above concerns. Does anyone have relatives with deep cancer treatment experience who can provide a perspective on MD Anderson?

People get cured at MDA and people get cured at every other hospital as well. I’ve known people that opted against MDA and been perfectly fine with that decision. And if everyone doesn’t support your decision, tell them to F off. Personally I wouldn’t be driving past the other top Houston hospitals to go MDA.

I would prefer to use an established care treatment and not any research trial. Save the research trial for someone that has fewer options.
