  1. to be clear, i wasn't making a judgement other than based on libertarian political arguments i've seen @Anastasis make i was actually surprised at the vehemence of the initial response.

having said that, in line with my comment above re: the Catholic church...i can at least respect a consistent pro-life stance, even if i do not agree.

I enjoyed that more than I thought I would.

same...i think bc it focused on the one small family and the 'disaster' was just backdrop driving the emotional impact as opposed to the special effects being the 'star'. the mom in the road after the separation was gut-wrenching 😕

I am not surprised that you bring a superficial take lacking substance to this exchange.

fwiw i also am surprised bc i thought you were pure libertarian.

Are you pro life, or anti abortion? I feel the pro-life label is a little too broad since it includes death penalty and some people are okay with the state using it as means to kill those that are hopefully rightly convicted.

and this is a good question sort of...but i would say 'pro-life or anti-choice' as literally nobody thinks abortions are awesome.

having said that, you bring up a good point... it's always seemed the height of hypocrisy to me for someone to be pro-life and also pro-capital punishment. if you believe 'all life is sacred'... then all life is sacred.

one of the few issues i give credit to the Catholic church for, they are ideologically consistent in their pro-life stance.

I'm myself not white, and in fact a racial minority. So I'd "benefit" from a full implementation of CRT. However, I have seen similar ideologies implemented elsewhere in the world, and it does not lead to a good place. I sure hope America (and UT, and A&M too, obviously) isn't winding down that path...

i'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that's probably not gonna be a problem lol

  5. headed down next week! and of course it's probably going to rain, or be flooded b/c of the rain already...but we'll be there 8 days so hopefully get some good weather!

have a long list of places to eat thanks to this thread...we would normally eat in a lot, but now that we're vaxed and everything is open...it's on 😎

  6. we have also been to a number of DDD spots and never been disappointed.

my favorite was a food truck on the north shore of Oahu a few years ago. i mean, we never even would have known to look for it, and it was one of the best meals we had, not to mention the setting was spectacular.

we also visited a DDD-featured fried chicken joint in a, uh, rather, uh, 'sketchy' part of Memphis, in a strip center literally between a liquor store and pawn shop. and it was outstanding.

is she trans maybe, and that's what the surgery is for? 🤔 i mean i think it would take a lot of testosterone for a female to grow facial hair like that.

The Ozark native’s charges stem from a 2019 heist of the BancorpSouth in Gulfport, Mississippi. At the time, prosecutors argued that her plan was to rob banks to finance sexual reassignment surgery, according to AL.com.

  8. and he's an uncle, right? is bearded cheater dude also an uncle?

and i just realized...he and the ex are both bearded...so...yeeeah, i'm thinking the prostitute's description was on purpose...

  9. this is a simple thing but boy did it make me happy...i got to go IN the library today! and browse books and select a bunch of random ones that may or may not be good...

i found browsing online nearly impossible, as you almost had to know what book and/or author you were looking for. granted i found a couple of new authors that i enjoyed...but my normal MO is to do as above and just pick a stack of random books and see how they are.

    so...that was good 🤓

Was the refunded Sturgill tix for a ticket master event?

it think it was originally, but i bought through Ticket Center...which tried to tell me instead of a refund they would give me 'credit' for any show in the next 18 months! this was in like May 2020 lol...yeah, no, i don't want credit, gimme my money.

my saga is on here somewhere, but basically they didn't give me a refund until i contacted the BBB and filed a complaint...and that shit actually worked b/c i had my money back within 72 hours after emailing with them for almost 2 months! :)
