He was overrated
There are only 15 players in the history of the NBA with more points than Paul Pierce.

The Browns "making the playoffs and winning a playoff game more recently than ________" applies to like 18 teams, since it happened last year.

Not only that but this isn’t the 80’s and 90’s when basketball was 100 times more physical than today. Basketball today is basically position less basketball where everyone is roaming the three point line and setting high pnr and pick and pops. And guys in the 80’s and 90’s were even skinnier than today. Kevin mchale had noodles for arms as did Robert parish and Ralph sampson.
NBA physicality was night and day from the 80s to the 90s. Team scoring dropped from 109 in 1980 to 91 by 1999....

If Austin wanted to play the eminent domain game, 183 and Lamar would be perfect for a stadium. Lots of industry, shitty Apts, and shitty outdated shopping centers.
Don’t underestimate the power of the Vietnamese gang lobby down at City Hall. Those poker games aren’t going to run themselves....

Agree with most of this post, but 90 minutes to Dell from downtown? I get there from my house in SW Austin in 45 minutes or so.
You know how I can tell you’re a realtor?

You might be thinking of the 1999? Apple turnover game and David Allen’s returns.
or maybe it was both. Fml.
Lol, no those are two different games. David Allen definitely stuck it up our ass in 1999, but I think (too lazy to look up) they took two kickoffs/punts to the house in 2007. Might be wrong, they definitely had one

There’s something comforting to me about the fact that our basketball coach sat in the same shitty desks at Parlin/Garrison/Burdine that pinched the fuck out of your triceps when you closed that shitty desktop as I did...

Also rained a decent amount in 2007 when Jordy Nelson pushed our shit in and Colt threw four picks, but your point still stands.
Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkAh yeah I forgot about that God forsaken game but you’re right. Didn’t they return two kicks for TDs?

I was 50/50 when these stories first started coming out. Best case for Watson at this point is he continues to play in the NFL but loses all of his endorsement income and lucrative post-career talking head opportunities. Worst case is handcuffs.
Shit man Ben Roethlisberger raped a chick in a bathroom and nothing happened to him. DeShaun will be fine....

It is. He’d rather play for any black coach over a great white, hispanic, asian, or Arab coach? That shit doesn’t work in reverse, at least not spoken publicly.
Are you actually, truly offended or just being a bitch?

Didn’t it rain for Ohio State in 2006? Or is my memory shitty?
I don’t remember it raining but there’s a lot of whiskey fog in my brain between now and then....

Nah, this is just me looking at a seat map. Shit, I’ve been to games in the rain before
Yeah, outside of the 2000 season where it rained every fucking conference home game, the KSU game in 2015(?), and the epic Mizzou deluge in 1996, rain hasn’t been an issue in my 32 years as a season ticket holder....

David McWilliams to Texas was a disaster.
Absolutely no argument, but man that 1990 season was fun...except for that one game we played in 1991.

Go all in on Sampson, he's built UH into competitor and looks primed to reach the final 4. Just a hunch that Beard is using Texas as leverage to rake in even more $$$ than he's already making. No thanks to Ivey, loved the guy as a player he played tough defense, but as a head coach he has zero experience to speak of. I constantly see Juwan Howard comparisons, but they're two completely different scenarios. Howard inherited a stacked roster, Ivey would inherit a roster decimated by transfers and players headed to the next level.
Given the extra year and how many players are going to be in the transfer portal, the right coach could completely turn our 21-22 roster around...

I took a shit at the buddy holly museum once.
I broke my ankle in the parking lot of the Coliseum in 1985 attempting (unsuccessfully) to execute a gainer out of the bed of a pickup following an Iron Maiden concert, so this hits close to home...

I'm too lazy to look up the details, but I know 60-whatever teams did not make the NCAA tournament back in Abe's day. The NIT actually carried a little clout. That NIT champ game was a thing of beauty. They pressed made baskets and Ron Baxter and Johnny Moore went full court pass after pass. No more bad mouthing Abe young man.
Lol I’m 54.
I loved Abe and you’re right, that NIT run was great and at the time the NIT meant something. Still, Abe’s teams won more conference games than they lost only 3 times in 7 seasons...

CSB/ Back in my Church's days on Wm. Cannon, Kaiser Bob was a regular customer, would shoot(no pun intended) the shit with him whenever I was working, nice enough man. I dare not tell him him I was a UK fan given his meltdown after a loss to UK when he was at Ole Miss, believe he may have left for Texas right after that. FTR, he liked dark meat(thighs). /csb
The point guard on that team was the dude who raised Michael Oher (along with Sandra Bullock of course)....

You may be getting crossed up here. I didn't mention Imus, and I'm sure as hell not defending him. I was pushing back on whoever said it's common now for people to be fired simply for being honest on air.
Curly mentioned him as an example (I think) of a person who was fired because he tripped up and was honest in his racism in front of a microphone. To me that means he was fired for being a racist asshole, not for being "honest".
If School Daze had come out 19 years later maybe more than .01% percent of the population would have realized he was using a phrase from a movie and not something he dreamed up on his own...

Lulz so it’s ‘truth’ that the Rutgers women’s team were a bunch of nappy-headed ho’s?
