Maybe this year we won’t kick off to start both halves...

Buzbee and the Texans are in cahoots somehow.
There is a very good chance ol' Tony has stepped on a landmine here. Rusty's counter-attack is going to be comprehensive and nobody on that side will be safe, lawyers included.
Yes, there is a chance DeShaun Watson is a predator. Prior to last week, there was no evidence of that at all. In fact, there was evidence that he was a solid citizen and all-around good guy. At this point there are a lot of accusations, but all of them are anonymous. And again, I cannot stress how weird it is that Buzbee nor any of these plaintiffs want a penny from Watson.
On the other hand, we have long known the Texans to be an inept organization, and increasingly, with the rise of Easterby, even borderline insane. I only know that from outside observation. I believe @OWLVIS has had dealings with them personally, and he seems unwilling to put much of anything past Cal and co.
What motivation would the Texans have to push this story out into the public eye? Try to trade him or beg him to stay, this doesn’t help either goal...

Fuck man, maybe these Bible thumpers were right all along. At the very least you reclaim the bonus money and can actually (somehow) salvage some PR value.
What a fucking shitshow....

Lulz. Women should expect men to treat them like shit is quite the take.
and the comparison I was making was not between what Cosby did and Watson allegedly did. It was that a successful wealthy person could actually be a sexual predator and how hard it would be to come to terms with the reality they are. How much evidence do you need? 30 women to come forward? 50?
Discussing the nuance of what, sexual harassment versus sexual assault? You do realize how retarded that sounds, right?
Tell you what hotshot. Since you think what Louis CK id was so benign. Why don't you get on a Zoom Call with all the women in your office and start masturbating and come back and tells us how it went for you and the women involved?
Give me Louis’ bankroll as a built-in “I can never work another day and be good” safety blanket and you’ve got a deal...

Well still not Shaka's lowest because we posted 48 against Butler in 2015 which is the lowest total in program history dating back to the year of da Aggy in 1939

My guess is he wants to coach in the NBA but he loves texas so you’d have to think he’d consider it. It’s likely the only NCAA job he’d consider and then, only if we get to him before he gets his feet wet in the league.
Some guys just don’t want to deal with shit like recruiting and players grades and parents and shit, so they’re always going to be NBA guys. Brad Stevens was apparently that way even though he was a hell of a college coach. No idea about Royal, but you’ve got to think if he’s interested in college coaching at all this job was be toward the top of his list...

Highly regarded amongst our NBA Horns, apparently. Lots of people really like him and think he’s the real deal.
If he coaches with the same mentality that he played I’m 100% on board...

He has two more years of guaranteed pay. In all likelihood, he keeps coaching even as a lame duck coach. Are boosters going to pony up for basketball right after the seismic payouts in football? I doubt it. Texas isn't a men's basketball school.
It’s not a women’s basketball school either...

Tyrod Taylor’s contract apparently has only $2.5MM in guaranteed money....

There is probably a disconnect between the way adult Texas fans view BoB and the national recruit perception of BoB in the college football world, especially as the Texans continue to crumble with him long gone.
lol 5 months is ‘long gone’? What moves would you have made to improve the roster in that timeframe?
-
I like the Roberts deal; he’s technically a WR but doesn’t really get snaps, he just returns kicks and punts and does both really well. Definitely worth $3MM/year

Have lived in Houston for 20 years as an adult. This place has been good to me and my family, and I consider it my city. I used to have Texans season tickets.
The McNairs have ruined the franchise, IMO, by conducting a jihad-like purge of the locker room. Now, I'm just here now to watch this shit burn to the ground.
I don’t think you know what ‘jihad’ means. This is the opposite...

and fwiw- and maybe i'm wrong here; you can tell me if so- but fwiw, one of the factors in play when I do decide to participate in the derailment of a thread like this, is the fact that so many come here to express how upset they are with me, yet none do the same towards jimmyjazz. it's a pattern that played out often when this happens, and for me it's a double standard.
when someone says to me "jesus christ derka shut the fuck up", for no real reason/without making a single earnest counterpoint to what i've said, and i then react poorly, then to me there is blame to go around. instead, jimmyjazz gets beacoup pos rep for being insulting and combative, and i get admonished by five different people for not taking it well. again, for me this is a clear double standard.
also- i'm not saying that this is right, but in light of this dynamic, my mentality in these situations often becomes, "fuck everyone, i'm digging in; if everyone is all pissy and mad at me yet no one is going to acknowledge that i didn't just up and derail this thread by myself, then i'm going to just keep coming back and fighting with jj until he quits."
again, it's immature, and self defeating, and just plain stupid, which i obviously see now, but it's where my head goes when i feel like im being singled out for what was, to me, clearly a two person fuck-up. if anyone here feels that i'm totally to blame and that jj is blameless then my mind is open to hearing you explain why that is. and if anyone here thinks that jj played an equal role in this thread derailment, then i will wonder aloud why none of you ever speak up when the shit is going down. imo, giving blame where blame is due may help to dissuade people from coming at *me* of all people with some "fuck you/stfu" type business and then acting surprised and blameless when i don't respond well to that.
Dude, at some point the last 3-4 years I seem to remember a post from you that you had never posted from a PC, laptop, etc - that 100% of your content was you hammering away on your phone. Is that still the case? If so, you deserve an award; the bigger question is, who is the award named after?

I'll bet Cal and Easterby are going to petition the league to change Texans's games to Saturday so everyone can go to church on Sunday.
Might as well play on Tuesday with what attendance is going to be...could be the lead-in to MAC-tion each week....

Apparently also bringing back Hargreaves on a 1-year deal worth $1.3MM. That's not a bad deal for a dude who ought to be your 5th corner, though I'm sure he'll be starting again...

They just signed Packers LB Christian Kirksey to a one-year deal. From a pre-draft interview with him:
I was born and raised in St. Louis, Mo., by both of my parents in a household of five. My family and I are very religious. I grew up in the church. My father was a pastor and my mom helped with the ministry as well, so I was pretty well grounded in my faith
Yes, they just signed a dude named Christian who is a Christian.
They are actually going to do this. They're going to pack their roster and organization with nothing but 'men of faith'. Fucking insanity...

Brandin Cooks restructured his deal. $10MM signing bonus spread over the next two years. Cap hit of $7.5MM this season, which saves $6MM on the cap. Franchise is a train wreck, but this was a good move. Expecting McKinney to be cut and use maybe half his savings (at most) to sign Tyrell Adams...

There are several reasons. Johnson could ID the talent, Jones could make the deal. Jimmy wasn't a deal maker. After the Herschel Walker deal, other teams were afraid to deal with him. Several of those draft choices were conditional. The Vikings sent several players to Dallas, and if the players didn't start, etc, those got converted to draft choices. Johnson sat all of them, and never gave them a chance to start, cause he always intended to turn them into draft choices.
Also, Jimmy got pretty lucky with the Cowboys with some of his deals. Michael Irvin was already with the team. Troy Aikman was the consensus #1 pick his first year, and the Cowboys had the #1 pick. Johnson picked up his old Miami QB, Steve Walsh, in the supplemental draft. That turned into the #1 pick the next year, so Jimmy didn't realize what he was getting in Aikman, cause he burned the #1 pick on a journeyman QB.
The Cowboys would have taken Blair Thomas over Emmitt Smith in the 1990 draft, but the Jets grabbed him. In fairness, Thomas had a higher draft grade than Smith, so a lot of teams would have done that, but that's what I mean by some of those player acquisitions just turned out well in Dallas.
Trivia, four of the first five choices in the 1989 draft were Troy Aikman, Barry Sanders, Derrick Thomas and Deion Sanders. When was the last time there was a draft that loaded?
Yeah the 1983 class is still the gold standard overall in the first round, but nobody started off a draft like 1989 (although ‘83 had 4 HOFs in the top 6)....

Ingram signing isn’t terrible; $500K at signing, $2MM salary, and bonus of $250K of he rushes for 750 yards, another $250K at 1,000. $3MM for a thousand yard rusher is a solid price, though it’ll be a miracle if he rushes for half that.

Dak is not worth this money. The NFL is full of horribly run orgs. Laughable how little anyone learned from Tom Brady.
Lulz what’s the lesson to learn - draft the GOAT in round 6?
So who are your super-sleepers in this years’ draft?
