  1. Already booked a house in Fayettenam for that weekend. We’ll have 8-10 folks there. Taking father in law who was born and raised in Arkansas so should be a fun time. He’ll be the only one in our group cheering for the Hogs.

Ya know, I could actually see a group sing along at the end of games with "True Love Will Find You in the End" being pretty damn cool.
  3. Saw Black Joe Lewis at Empire Control Room downtown last night. Fun time. They have spaced out tables and table service which you order from an app. Worked great and it sure was nice to get out and see a real concert. Felt quite Covid safe.
  4. Except that every QAnon or semi-QAnon nut I know is also quite evangelically religious and a fairly regular church goer. The biggest conspiracy theorists I know are the most religious. Religion, at least the US version of it, is very much fueling this bullshit or at a minimum it’s a leading indicator of who’s gonna be dumb enough to go down the Q rabbit trail.
  5. Had dinner with the in laws last night. Dad is still parroting all of the bullshit. Last week’s insurrection was all Antifa. Kamala will be president and she’s a communist. Christians can’t speak their beliefs any more. On January 20 churches will begin to be shut down - it’s already happening. Blah blah blah bullshit. Infuriating.
  6. There were a lot of olds in the crowd, so not too surprising
  7. https://www.mrt.com/news/article/Two-Midlanders-among-protesters-at-U-S-Capitol-15851202.php?fbclid=IwAR3W34lFwbH_2Ydiq0DWEFDlofHJVLPueZBC7yawZQEEGWXOydGPiaFbt64 I reported this bitch to the FBI and I know a few others who did as well
  8. I literally felt all of my intelligence drain out of my body as I watched those clips.
  9. Every rich motherfucker in Midland has a place at HSB, and most of the almost rich guys do too. Not sure why other than that it’s close enough to drive if your jet breaks down and is close to Austin.

Went to Easy Tiger tonight around 5:00 to see the Verde Van and buy a jersey. Line was 30 deep. Left at 7:30 and the line was still 30 deep. Never got in the line, decided to drink beer and eat pretzels and sammiches instead. I’ll just buy online. Glad to see that folks are so fired up. Not your typical UT crowd. More heavily hipster and Mexican with a fair dose of middle aged dorks like me.
  11. Just got an email from an opposing lawyer in San Angelo - 3 out of his 7 staff have Covid, including his wife, and one is in the hospital. Meanwhile, Texas has its highest day of reported cases yet. Sheesh this holiday season is gonna suck. Need that damn vaccine yesterday.
  12. All of my Trumpkin Facebook friends are ghostly silent this week. I think they’ve run off to Parler. Keep this up and Facebook may actually become slightly less of a wasteland again. Slightly.
  13. Dude married into money and has a beautiful family. He doesn’t have to be doing any of this. I respect his work ethic. He’s trying, which is more than many can say.
  14. Agreed. They shouldn't give the Dems a rubber stamp. Make them earn the support, in ways they haven't in the past.
  15. When I say I'm voting straight ticket Dem, what I mean is that I'm voting against any and all Republicans at every opportunity. So in this circumstance, I vote Libertarian, which I did for President last time out, much to my disgrace.
  16. My friend's dad, a lifelong Republican voter and semi-retired oil company exec, and also an atheist, called her to tell her he was at church and praying for ways short of him dying of Covid to make sure that Trump doesn't win. As I've said before, my completely apolitical wife and sister, talk nonstop about how disgusting Trump is. My sister has already voted straight ticket D for the first time in her life, my wife will tomorrow. I'm set to vote straight ticket Dem for the first time in my life. My kids all voted straight ticket Dem. It's anecdotes like this that have never happened in my lifetime that make me really fucking curious to see how things go Tuesday. Maybe it doesn't mean shit, but here's to hoping it does.
  17. Republicans are turning out early in Midland. Here’s an article about early voting out there. The numbers are a drop in the bucket compared to the state on the whole, but they’re going to easily surpass 2018 and 2016 numbers, and they won’t be voting for Biden or MJ - Cruz got 77% of the vote in 2018. Interesting to see if this is playing out statewide and nationwide. Suspect voters are fired up on both sides to turn out. https://www.mrt.com/news/article/Number-of-early-voters-possibly-could-hit-50-000-15674284.php?fbclid=IwAR3KCPX1bYeD8JUtbQfxwra70wcRA12EZK30BZl9XY_Tu8lPtTXblYJsm3o
  18. What a shallow stupid fucking idiot
  19. Hays City Store, but it's a looong drive for you.
  20. I’m bored by this discussion. BT is possibly correct but it just doesn’t matter this year because Trump and his clan are so much worse. Accordingly, I just don’t give a fuck about BT’s points right now. If they have legs, make them another day after the election dude.
