  1. Here are the two quotes - both from Biden directly, one on his website and one from his mouth. I don't think there is any way to say with a straight-face that they are consistent. They conflict. "No, I do not support the Green New Deal." "Biden believes the Green New Deal is a crucial framework for meeting the climate challenges we face. It powerfully captures two basic truths, which are at the core of his plan: (1) the United States urgently needs to embrace greater ambition on an epic scale to meet the scope of this challenge, and (2) our environment and our economy are completely and totally connected." (emphasis added) I don't think it's a huge deal but you keep posting a spate of histrionics so I feel compelled to respond (I probably shouldn't). I think his actual beliefs likely are more aligned with bullet 2 than bullet 1.
  2. You quoted the exact same sentence as me. I read the sentences we both quoted as supporting the Green New Deal. It would be odd to not support something and refer to it as a "crucial framework" that "powerfully captures two basic truths." Last night, he said "[n]o, I don't support the Green New Deal." I didn't distort anything. I quoted him and linked to his site. Those quotes are contradictory.
  3. I think Trump was awful. I already stated that. If it would satisfy you, I'm happy to state it each time I talk about an unrelated topic.
  4. And last night he said "[n]o, I don't support the Green New Deal." Those statements conflict.
  5. Isn't the Green New Deal a large component of the Biden Plan? I assume the speech was a gaffe, mistake, whatever, and he supports the Green New Deal.
  6. I think Trump's strategy was to be ultra aggressive and Joe would be so bamboozled that he would seem like a lost Alzheimer's patient on stage. That obviously didn't work. Joe stammered some but it didn't seem like he was completely lost. And any substance from Trump was lost due to his constant interrupting and bickering. Joe also seems to waffle on his policies, reiterating what someone said above not know what his policies are. He rather emphatically denounced the green new deal last night. His website states "Biden believes the Green New Deal is a crucial framework for meeting the climate challenges we face." https://joebiden.com/climate-plan/
  7. There is a difference between disagreeing and taking offense. I disagreed with Buzzrock's comment. I posted the below. "Call me old fashioned but I don't think a physical trait someone is born with should prevent or limit them from having an opinion about a topic." I didn't take offense. I wasn't "inflamed." I simply disagreed. You've responded with a litany of emotional and hysterical ad hominem attacks about my attitude, skin color, sex, and age.
  8. I'm not playing word games. I'm taking your words at face value. Please start doing the same for me. In that regard, please post where I've told anyone what is best for them. I had the audacity to submit that arguments should be judges on their merits and not the physical characteristics of the speaker. That spun you into a tizzy and you've lashed out.
  9. I think this is a sad view of the world as well, but I'll try not to go round and round. I don't think "THE minority experience" exists. There are what, 140 million minorities in this country? You've reduced them to a single experience.
  10. I think that's exactly what a white man who thinks he knows what's best for women and minorities would say. I don't know what's best for anyone besides myself, and sometimes, I don't know what's best for myself. My assertion is that arguments should be judged on their merits, not that I know best for anyone.
  11. I think this is a sad view of the world. We're not individuals. Our arguments aren't judged on their merits. Rather, they're judged by our physical characteristics.
  12. Call me old fashioned but I don't think a physical trait someone is born with should prevent or limit them from having an opinion about a topic.
  13. People feel acl tears very differently. Not uncommon at all to walk or jog off, or even keep playing for the rest of the game on a torn acl.

    EPL 2020-21

It did look like the team was exhausted at about the 75 min mark, and were just trying to hang on. It wouldn't shock me if that's a microcosm of the season, as you predict. I'll admit to not watching any of the Championship.

I thought the first penalty was the wrong call. It caught Koch's leg before his arm. Regardless, optimistic start for Leeds. My top half of the table prediction looks good.
  16. And what's the death rate of all those irresponsible kids? They will all die in 2 weeks. So it’s 100% in 2 weeks.

All Leeds Aren't We Top half finish for Leeds
  18. Interesting, I was wondering if it was a contingent of immigrants from Moldova or something. Sounds like it may have just been a collection of American kids that fell through the cracks.
  19. The concept of pedophiles with molotov cocktails makes me chuckle every time I think about it. Probably going to hell.
  20. Any info on who the 39 kids were? The articles I've seen haven't provided much info.
  21. I made this comment earlier but it got lost in the shuffle. One of the central tenets of many criminal justice advocacy groups is the elimination of youth incarceration. I live in Seattle and the recently built youth detention center is one of the main targets of protests. I don't think any of those advocacy groups will come out in support of some type of restorative justice program, as opposed to incarceration, for this youth due to the politics of the situation. But as someone who thinks almost all of our prison sentences are entirely too long and end up damaging the individual to an extent that it's near impossible to recover from, I hope this kid doesn't spend the rest of his life, or even the majority of his life in prison. And I'd say that for anyone who was 17 when they killed someone. I think 10 years should be about the max, absent some type of mass killing of a multitude of people.
  22. LeBron did not remain silent on the Hong Kong protests. That's a mischaracterization. He outspokenly called support for the protestors "misinformed" and "not educated." Thus, in his opinion, the informed and educated side is the side of the Chinese government.
  23. Isn't one of the core demands of many criminal justice reform groups no more prison for youth 17 and under?
  24. My left ear has felt like it was full for about 7 or 8 years now. I think I still hear about the same out of it. Saw 2 doctors 7ish years ago. Both told me to take Sudafed, which I did. It didn't relive the fullness or help at all. One asked me to track what I ate for a week and get back to him. I didn't. Some days are better than others. On a bad day, I might yawn to pop my ear 500 times. It provides momentary relief, but always goes back to feeling full within seconds. The above might sound bad but I've gotten used to it. It doesn't affect my quality of life. Maybe I'll see a doc again at some point.
