  1. So 16 and 20 point wins, v the overall #1 seed, in a week? Not bad.

    49-0

I should probably watch this sometime. I got a tad tipsy and honestly don't remember much from the game. I do recall getting on a stage at Sidecar Social and yelling "Fuck OU!" to the Sooner folks. My wife was super proud.
  3. I know bitching about driving stuff is stale and somewhat taboo on this thread, but how in the mothereffin hell does a grown ass adult not know that you can turn left on a blinking yellow light? Every, fucking day. My route home takes me to an intersection which has a green arrow for all of like 5 seconds, then a flashing yellow for 30 seconds or so. Every day I'm behind some fuckswitch that just sits there with a completely clear opposite lane. When the light changes, it takes 3-4 mins to get to the next cycle. I'd honk, but I'm averse to road rage + I'm always afraid that it'll be someone I know since I teach in the area. /drunk rant
  4. Too bad that video wasn't around about 15 years ago when I got kicked out of a Vol tailgate party for taking the stance that the TN men's team would beat the women's team by 50+ points. Honest to God, it was me v. about 7 people who swore the women would beat the men.

Ok. So I'm about to sign up for my first one soon. I'm not worried about prep, fasting, pooping, etc... What I'm absolutely terrified of is the post-procedure running of the mouth. I'm honestly scared I'm going to say something I shouldn't to whomever is listening. My dumb ass thinks it's fun to push the buttons when completely sober. I have no idea what I'll say if, and when, I'm under the influence of veritable truth serum. I'd do the dang "mail in the poop box" if my insurance covered it just to avoid ending my marriage.
  6. Yeah. She's unstable and I kind of question the panel/producer/Probst that let her on the show. I mean to say, she's beyond quirky. Rooting for the rocket scientist because he's an older clone of my 10th grader.
  7. Ha! As a child, I could never understand why my cousin, who lived in Brownwood, was such a huge Braves fan. It used to piss me off. Dallas folks will probably recall HSE for Ranger and Mav games.
  8. I get it. And, I knew that I'd be chided for bringing it up. I've eaten at Heim, Terry Blacks', Cattleack, Hutchins, etc.., so I know quality. I moved to TN (1997) before BBQ became a subculture. When my wife and I decided to move back, I started reading the food thread OTOS and came across Salt Lick. Having not experienced anything BBQ related, I saw Salt Lick as the "mecca" that I needed to visit after moving back to Texas. Hence the bucket list that I mentioned on the previous page.
  9. Lol. That didn't take long.
  10. I know. Cliche. It's a bucket list item going back several years. Salt Lick (Driftwood). Is this a place where a wait can be expected on, say, Monday at around noon? Party of 5.
  11. Right? Doesn't CA have a prison guy that beats pedos to death with a cane? I think he's killed 2 or 3 this year. Stick him with that guy.
  12. Lol. She's a meme in my inner circle precisely because of this. "Welcome to the news. My name is Cynthia Izzadghsrfcvfthjyedcyre."
  13. I still listen to one of the local sports-talk guys, Tony Basilio, from time to time. The consensus is that they like Barnes but are extremely frustrated with a couple of things. 0 fast break points yesterday. I fell asleep as the producer was trying to see if they'd scored more than 100 fast break points all year in the SEC (18 games). Late season collapse. The Vols went from #2 in the country to a tie for 6th place in the SEC.
  14. Gee. Look at that. A tiebreaker screws us. /Irish Festival, beer-fueled response. F Kansas
  15. *My first foray into recruiting came at a time when Deer Park sent white LB after white LB to Texas; each being a Top 30 recruit that never panned out. *Incoming exaggeration
  16. To show my lack of contextual awareness, I'm pretty sure I never considered who the professor was when signing up for a class.
  17. Lol. TEX was no friend to me and my late teens years of immaturity. The class that I need to take at the time I need is full? Guess I'm taking Oceanography.
  18. I watched it. Adams was amazing, McKennie was good, Aaronson didn't have his best game. Bamford actually showed somewhat.

@ztejas Apologies as I see you already mentioned Figueroa.

    USMNT 2023

I've watched all the US games in this tourney. They are pretty good; however, as U-17 players can go, they tend to make silly mistakes. The first goal was actually a complete b.s. PK called by the ref (w/ no VAR). A shot hit the US defender square in the chest, but was called hands. One of the other two goals was a complete fluke; however, I was drinking a bit and can't recall the circumstance. The US does have Minor Figueroa's son at forward and this guy can play. Unfortunately, he went off injured late in the game so he may not play tomorrow against Canada.

Lol. You were actually pretty close. Sicily; not Galveston.
  22. I feel for you guys. As only a casual Stars fan, I can't imagine how pissed off the recent results would make me if I had the Stars on the same level as Texas football. Oh, wait. I guess I can.
