  1. still dont understand how taylor swift is such a cultural and economic powerhouse.
i mean ive heard her music and some of it is good, but her talent doesnt seem equal to the icon status of  a michael jackson, elvis presley, madonna.  but her tour seems to basically shut down entire cities for transport and accomodations.

Elvis didn’t have social media. My understanding is she mastered it at just the right time.
  2. Yep. It’s all water, of course. When we’re in perpetual calorie deficit we don’t store carbs at a significant level because our body prefers to burn it as soon as possible. Once we move to maintaining, our body has an opportunity to store carbs that are no longer almost immediately used. Carbs are stored with water molecules at a 1:3 ratio, thus an effective quadrupling of that stored weight (the carb PLUS 3x it’s weight in paired water).

I don’t think a gradual increase would have solved for this, imo. It’s not reasonable for us to expect to never store carbs, so we just have to embrace that they will come back when we come out of deficits. How fast really isn’t that interesting to me.

An excellent example of why focusing on weight is less preferable to fat mass, though if your scale is like mine it probably interprets this excess water as fat, too, so who knows…

  3. Is this why linked images and such break after a while?  The API call is no longer happening?

That’s probably just the source image being removed from its host, which is why imma suggests we always post images directly to surly rather than linking

  4. OH, good catch, I obviously didn't read in in that way, but makes sense. However, doesn't seem to jibe with the following sentence where he talks about taking it up the chain to the head security guy for the Trump Org, not the head IT guy.

The head security guy would likely have the rights on their security system. The IT administrator would not grant rights to an underling without the security head’s permission.
  5. Doesn't sound like any footage was actually deleted. Per the indictment, After De Oliveira told "Employee #4" that "the boss" wanted to have the footage deleted, Employee 4 told De Oliveira that he didn't know how to do so and didn't think he would have a legal right to do so even if he could.
The part in italics to me is pretty cut and dry indication that that portion of the indictment came from testimony by Employee 4 himself.

Probably not referring to legal rights, but rather IT permissions

  6. What’s wild to me is he had boxes delivered from storage to his suite so he could filter through them preemptively, and then had them returned to storage for the planned lawyer “search”. The lawyer then STILL found tons of incriminating shit in them!

JESUS, WHAT THE FUCK DID HE FILTER OUT!?!?!

  7. Am I the only one who's not at all stunned by this stunning development?

I’m not stunned by his actions, but I am stunned how he gift wrapped this

Recording your own crimeing, enlisting your valet to participate in subsequent crimeing, and then failing to crime sufficiently so as to avoid getting caught on first crime is absolutely breathtaking
