The last part has always been my thing about Kerr. Steph,Klay and Draymond are the pieces that have won them titles (plus KD for 2). They’ve not developed anyone really that they’ve drafted since. Wiseman started out hot before injury, Poole has had some moments but that’s really it. Kuminga hasn’t done a ton even though it’s early.
Got to talking to a buddy of mine today about Spo and where he ranks in the top coaches ever and I figured it’d be an interesting topic here. Who y’all got in your top 5? Jackson and Pop in there I’d say. Daly? Riley? Auerbach?
OKC gets pick 12. Early mock drafts have a few different options
Cason Wallace - 6’4 195 lb guard from Kentucky - 11/3/4 last year for the Wildcats
Jordan Hawkins - 6’5 195 lb guard from UConn - 16/4/1 last year for the Huskies
Keyonte George - 6’4 185 lb guard from Baylor - 15/4/2 last year for the Bears
I’ll be curious what they do. Could trade up or down as well. I hope that if Miller were to get past 3-4 that OKC makes a move up. I really like Whitmore too. Grady Dick is another intriguing guy because of his shooting ability. Would be a good spot up guy with SGA and Giddey.
I’m at the same point with Arch as I was with Quinn.
Quinn was coming here, as soon as he hit the portal, to be the starter. 5* 1.000 prospect from Texas. Same with Arch. If next year rolls around and it comes down to Arch and Maalik, if it’s not clear as day to even the dumbest of people, Arch is gonna be the guy. A QB with Manning on the back of his jersey isn’t gonna get passed over for a spot at Texas. The public perception is too big of a deal to a national brand like Texas.
Quinn gets drafted, Arch next year, Maalik transfers. Calling it now.
As far as sunshine pumping is concerned, the mocks for next year think we’re gonna be alright.

Bryce has been on a heater since being brought back up
4 starts - 23.2 innings pitched
2-0 record
1.14 ERA
23 Ks to 7 BBs
Left the game tonight up 4-1 on the Astros and Atlanta’s pen blew his W.
Kinda surprises me that it was that way. It’s as close to what the KD-Russ era felt like since KD left. Being built the same way if you ask me. SGA-Chet are your KD-Russ. Williams is Harden. Dort is Roberson/Sefalosha. Plus now you have the hindsight of watching it through once.
I’ll be curious if it’s this or next summer that Presti uses the treasure trunk of picks to make a splash. I wouldn’t hate moving up in the draft to grab Miller.
I’ve done a yearly OKC post in the past with some people that follow em like me but I figured it’d be easier to just have one rolling instead.
Year 4 of the post Russ era rebuild ends with a play-in birth, a 31 ppg scorer in SGA, an emergence of some of latest first round picks in Giddey and Williams and a roster with 14 players under 25 and 15 first round picks going forward.
Hoping the off-season brings some excitement. Chet being back will raise the level of play along with another top 12 pick. Possible move arounds in the draft, maybe the trading of some picks for pieces.
Let’s see what Presti has up his sleeve.
Matter of opinion. I think if we don’t hire RT and don’t bring in a top tier guy, the perception isn’t good. “Texas let’s go of the guy that took em to an E8 and had backing from KD and TJ Ford to hire ____”. If it’s Miller, maybe that checks the elite box. But you better bring in someone with a resume from a perception standpoint.
Fair enough.
I get that it’s directed at specific people but give Terry a chance before we burn down the program. The first thing to happen and it’s the I told you so game. A month from now we could sitting here with a starting 5 of Hunter, Abmas, Holland, Boone, Disu and be pretty content with the idea of that. Or I could anyways.
It’s the same in the sense of it’s April and the spots on the roster aren’t filled yet. If we finish out the roster and you still think we’re fucked then so be it. Shit I might to. But it’s a bit early to make that call.
Oklahoma HS education. Reading fucks with me sometimes.
Fair enough
It was a no win situation in my eyes for CDC if it wasn’t Terry. Unless you’re bringing in a name that everyone says, yeahhh I get it. If Miller was the name and it would’ve happened, I’d have a different feeling about it (I’m not a fan of his but I know he’s had good teams in the past).
I’m in the same boat. I’m not saying Terry is gonna lead is to the promised land. It just is funny watching Derka “I told y’all motherfuckers” multiple people on this thread.
At this point in Beards first few months on the job our roster was shit too. Let’s see what happens.
